Coming from Maxes for years, I’m very happy with my 14 Pro. Holding the phone in one hand is important for me and I found myself wishing my Maxes were lighter more often, so I got a Pro this time. The first two days it took some time to adjust to typing on a smaller screen but that’s about the only thing I had to adjust to. Picking up my old Pro Max now gets me wondering how I managed to stand the weight all those years.

So far I am on day 3 going from the 13 PM to the 14 Pro.. So far its actually REALLY nice, but I do miss the larger display at times. I have larger hands so have no problem with the Pro Max size, however I'm not having any issues typing on the Pro.. Great device, and my display on the 14 pro is MUCH better than my 13 Pro Max. (Whiter display, not yellow or having blue shift issues).

On here a lot of people say you should charge to 80% and not let it go below 20%. IDK how true that is (I’ve always thought you should fully charge and discharge batteries, but what do I know), and I rarely do that, but since I’ve seen many mention it, I worry less about unplugging before 100.
You definitely don't have to fully discharge anymore since NiMH/Li Ion batteries. I don't usually get close to 20 before I charge, but charge to 100% overnight and haven't had issues with battery health.

Yea now I'm not sure if I want to go Pro on Friday if I can only find them in store but no PM.

I did go Pro and I love it. I haven’t felt restricted by the screen size at all (and let’s face it, it’s still 6.1”, hardly small).

Went from 12pro to 14pm . Loving the bigger size but do miss the smaller size for when I use the phone as a phone . Wife’s 14 pro is weeks away . I’ll play with both and see what I prefer for the next upgrade . I had a 14 pro ordered also but kept the pro max this time .

good to know, on the keyboard I have heard people making less mistakes on the 14 pro compared to 13 pro any reason for this?

I always got the biggest screen since the 6; last year I went from 12 Pro Max to 13 Pro. I agonized over the decision for some reason, went back and forth several times (ordered both sizes) but the weight and size was beginning to make the 12 PM uncomfortable to use.

Haven’t missed the larger screen; and at least for me, battery has never been an issue I’ve noticed. Had no trouble choosing to stick with the 14 Pro this year. No temptation to go back to the Max.

I will say, it helps that the Pro and Pro Max have had feature parity in recent years. In prior years, the Plus / Max would have features that the other phone(s) didn’t… and that usually was what made the decision easy. With rumors that they’re going to again segment features next year… we’ll see if they talk me back into the “Biggest” iPhone ;)

After day 1 coming from 13PM to 14P. It's... nice to hold. I also very much agree, that feature parity helps a lot.

However, I have 13PM next to it and the large screen is just gorgeous. But not as pocketable. Will see about the battery, hope it's not much worse.

I switched to the 13 Pro after using Maxes for years and i dont think i could ever go back. The practicality of not having a huge brick in your pockets when moving around is great. Also using the phone for reading in bed is much easier on the hands. Typing is also a much better experience. Battery life is not really a limiting factor with the 13 and 14 Pro, only edge case users and true power users will have an issue with that.

Edit: regarding 13P vs 14P battery life, the 14 is a little bit better i would say, in line with what Apple is saying.

After living with my 14 Pro for two weeks since launch day, I really miss the larger screen I had with the 13 PM, and especially the battery life.

Will miss the pocketability trade-off if I go through with it tomorrow, but I have a 14 Pro Max reserved for me at the Apple Store. Everything’s a trade-off and there’s no free lunches though.

Due to the increased screen size and resolution of the Max, the keyboard is definitely more spread out.

Every time I go back to the 13 Pro to type to test, I make a lot more mistakes just as I did with 2 years of the 6.1" size. That is a huge plus to me of the 14 Pro Max, as most of my communication is done through text.

I traded 12 Pro Max for the smaller 14 Pro. I thought I would be sad, but nope. It’s a little bit cheaper, screen doesn’t leave me wanting more space like the X did. Camera lens options with night mode always available for each, much better 5G battery. Even on WiFi I notice 14 pro finishes the day with more battery than 12PM did. Now when I hold other people’s Pro Max phones I don’t know why I dealt with the extra weight (for battery life honestly)😂

Also now with dynamic island, and certain notifications are now higher on screen, it feels more impactful actually being able to reach further parts of the screen with one hand. Just an everyday convenience you may also consider toying with in person before deciding

I went the other way. Pro to Pro Max. Gotta get used to the bigger size as it's rumored that the bigger Pro model next year will have features not found in even the smaller Pro..

I still envy the weight of the regular 14 vs the Pro. I really don't need stainless steel ;)

Went from a 12 pro to 14pm its alright to use . Played with the wife’s 14 pro and I’ll be going back to the pro next time . the screen realy doesn’t seem that much smaller and the usability is so much better on the pro.

After almost a year I wanted to pop up this thread. I've been using an X for 6 years and this year I want to upgrade my iphone with either 15 Pro or 15 Pro Max. If they both had the same 5x telephoto camera, I would probably lean to Pro model. But this year the Max model has this feature and I don't want to miss this feature. But in the meantime, I never had a Max sized phone. I read on this thread there are many people who went to Pro from Pro Max and they regretted and got back to Max models. But also there are the opposite. The complaints are usually the lack pocketability, weight of the Max models and difficulty of using it with one hand when laying down etc...

What do you think this year? Since the Pro models now are coming almost 10% lighter with Titanium case, would those who were happy going from Max to Pro consider switching back to Max again due to lighter weight?

Going back to Max this year. I’ve been on Plus/Max since 7 Plus, then took one year off for 14 Pro. I love the size but the battery difference is noticeable, so back to Max for 15 Pro Max.

10% is not enough to get me back to a max, don't be upsold the zoom is a con.

I’m considering going back to a Max. I’m at that age where eyesight starts to decline— started to notice it about 6 months after switching away from the Max 😂 Also, the 14 Pro battery life has been less than stellar, so I’m considering the Max for the bump in battery life as well (perhaps I should just try turning off the “always on display”…)
