Earpiece only. Can someone clarify whether this solely happens through the earpiece or also in speakerphone mode?

Only through the earpiece when speakerphone is NOT engaged. Can someone clarify whether this solely happens through the earpiece or also in speakerphone mode?
Correct. Speakerphone actually seems to be a catalyst to start/stop it sometimes.Only through the earpiece when speakerphone is NOT engaged.
No. Both 8 and 8 Plus. US & Europe responses with issue. Across many carriers. And this is strictly on the 8 Plus? Have any of you experienced it on the regular 8?
I think the worst thing about this is not knowing if it’s software or hardware. If software I have no problem in waiting for a fix. The problem is if it’s hardware and we are stuck with a phone that is not fit for purpose.
If no fix in a couple of weeks I’ll return mine and cancel my contract. Then wait. I still won’t buy a Android phone
An S8!!! Nnnoooo this is blasphemyAgree - apart from the fact that my 8+ is perfect in every other way and a return means starting the Apple screen quality lottery again. But I’m not being stuck with an £800 faulty product.
Seriously tempted by an S8. I can buy and S8 and and Gear 3 for just a few pounds more than the 8+.
What a pain in the a$$ this is. I always vow I’ll not buy for three months after launch and I always get sucked in.
By myself as I walked in. She said bc it’s crackling outside it’s probably a hardware issue and the ear piece needs replacement. The phone is too new so they aren’t doing repairs yet. Even after 14 they can replace the devise if repairs don’t fix the issue.By yourself or with employee ? If so, what did they say ?
I went to Apple and found some reassurance finally. The genius informed that they are able to do repairs and if that doesn’t fix it even after 14 days you can replace the device. But that’s worse case scenario. I’ll be waiting this one out as I love this phone and don’t plan on giving up on it. Good luck to you all with yours. If I have any updates I’ll post it. But remember if something is broken you fix it not toss lol
You’re absolutely right. And I agree this phone is too expensive to have an issue like this. But I’m ok with repairs and replacement if need be. I believe this phone is worth it. That’s just me though. But I do agree! If it’s hardware all buyers should be able to replace no matter what.I have a bit of an issue with an £800 device that is faulty from the start (if hardware) and needs a repair. If it’s faulty when it was sold it should always be replaced and not repaired.
Just to clarify, Genius said they could repair the speaker/hardware? I guess that is good news and bad news..I went to Apple and found some reassurance finally. The genius informed that they are able to do repairs and if that doesn’t fix it even after 14 days you can replace the device. But that’s worse case scenario. FWIW, I left the 7+.. went back to the 6S+ due to camera issues with the 7+.. really don’t want to go back to either.Have another appt with Apple tomorrow. I’m already on my 2nd phone in less than a week. I’m afraid this will be the case with every new phone they give me.. I’m in love with this phone and not ready to give up on it just yet..coming from a 6s+, don’t really want to go to 7+.
Same issue here. But I am quite relaxed. Couldn’t be hardware issue as it’s working absolutely fine from time to time. It must be software issue. In other threads I read that others were facing the same issue on other iPhone devices after updating to iOS 11. Therefore I thing they are going to fix this, hopefully very soon. But I am with you guys. Really strange that this happenes at all with a device with that value. And now imagine that this can happen to much more expensive iPhone X as well![]()
The fact that speakerphone seems to engage/disengage gives me hope.Same issue here. But I am quite relaxed. Couldn’t be hardware issue as it’s working absolutely fine from time to time. Yeah I can always stop it by switching in and out of speaker phone a couple of times. And in fact start it if it’s not doing it.The fact that speakerphone seems to engage/disengage gives me hope.
No sorry I can’t really confirm that. I was just reading few comments related to this and these guys were not using iPhone 8 (plus). But they were having same issues after software update.Could you elaborate a little the point that this could be happening on other iPhone devices running iOS 11?
Users Down under in Australia reporting it as well. I’m one of them! It is definitely a widespread issue with these new 8’s.No. Both 8 and 8 Plus. US & Europe responses with issue. Across many carriers.
