-------------------------------------

Just have got a notice from Apple saying my iMac are arriving tomorrow(11th). though the order status had been saying it would be April 22.
Hope this could be an indicator for those of you who have been in the same situation.

So you are saying that they did not change your status on the web site order page but you got a email from Apple saying it will arrive tomorrow? Or do you mean the original shipping date was April 22?

I noticed the web page got updated to say "prepared for shipping" just several hours before I got the shipping notice from Apple.

I've double checked the delivery status and realized that my imac are arriving on 13th, not tomorrow.
Normally, when I buy something from Apple online and get a shipping notice, I get it on the next day.
This time, though, it's shipped from Shanghai.
So it would be unrealistic I get it tomorrow.
Apologize for the incorrect info I posted.
BUT it's on the way for sure!

Wow!! 20 days or 12 days... that is still a while to wait. But at least you know it is coming for sure. I couldn't take that, and that is why I ordered with next day service. To me it is worth it not to wait all that time once you know it has been shipped.

Not a problem, at least you will have it soon and Monday is not that far away. It gives you the whole weekend to prepare your desk and what not to set up your iMac. :D

Latest update..

My iMac (3.06 with 4850) left CA (USA) last night and is now at the Fed Ex local distribution center in West Yarmouth, MA, which is about 11 miles from my house. Not bad timing and this was a free overnight shipping upgrade. Sometimes it pays to call...:apple:

Update now shows out for delivery 9:05 AM EDT

Now the fun begins... I am installing a new AEBS to replace my older version. The first time I did this was a horror show but with the help of the people at Apple and a new AEBS, along with an upgrade in the software that problem was fixed. I have a XP PC and that is not the easiest to configure.... Also have a printer and external HD hooked up to the AEBS. This should keep me occupied while I wait for the iMac...

Awwww, I ordered March 29th, and I'm in the US. No such email, or update. Lol. Basically the same exact specs, except a wireless keyboard, and iWork.

I am starting to feel like the only one who ordered early(March 4) and still in a "Not Yet Shipped" status.

Delivery Complete

My 3.06 / 4850 iMac was just delivered (to eastern Massachusetts, USA). It's sitting in the brown shipping box on my living room floor as I type. I will unpack and set it up and provide an update later today!

Congrats on being 1st here to receive one. Now everyone will be awaiting further info such as what version of the OS is installed and how it benchmarks in games.

Just FYI

I don't know how many time you have ordered just released computers from Apple before but usually they ship directly from China to the end customers in US and Canada. Obviously, the shipping goes through a number of places before it gets to you, but the normal thing is you received a shipping number when the thing leaves China.

I don't know how many times others have been saying this, but since you ordered from a second/third party, Apple might ship to them directly from China, as opposed to those of us who ordered directly from Apple Store will get our shipment from US. That's speculation though, because we have yet to see anyone in US or Canada receives any shipping notice nor order status is changed. It leads us to believe this is the case.

Yes, we know your iMac is shipping directly from China, at least that's what the store manager told you. However, it doesn't help us that much. We're happy for you, just that we're eager to know where our iMacs are, your case doesn't tell us much.

Don't worry, you're not the only one. I ordered on the 4th at bout 9am (gmt) and still "not yet shipped".
I rang earlier and got an apology, the guy said he'd get in touch with the shipping department and then ring me with an answer, but due to fact they might not respond today &the long weekend he might not be able to ring till Tuesday!
So who knows when they'll get it sorted. So much for first come first served!

Did it ever occur to any of you guys that probably thousands of orders all over the globe went in during that same time frame? They will be batching these when they get them ready for shipment which means that there could be a couple of business days difference between shipment of orders placed on the same day.

What a whiny lot this is.
