Found GeekBench but GPU=Z is only for Windows platform, unless I am missing something. I will run once I get the iMac setup. Right now I have to get my Wireless Network Password to get access. My first impression at looking at the startup is Wow, being that I have been using a 13" Macbook since I gave my Granddaughter my 20" iMac (as justification to get the 24")

Theres always CPU-X

WoW benchmarks is all that is keeping me from making my purchase of a 4850 IMac. I am anxious to see your results!

WoW Data Point: 36 FPS in Dalaran

I was able to run WoW just now on my 3.06 GHz 4850 system. I set all Video settings to max, 1920x1200 resolution, 2x multi-sampling. Vertican sync set to 60Hz. (I really like the new dynamic shadows. It is very cool to see everyone with a true shadow. I wish they were darker actually; they are kind of subtle.)

In Dalaran with a few dozen characters in the vicinity, I was getting 35 to 40 FPS. Virtually no lagging or pauses as I rode in a circle around the city. Yum! Here is a screen shot:

http://picasaweb.google.com/NikonDahl/WorldOfWarcraft#5323160668338185058

In Ironforge with a similar few-dozen characters, the performance was about 75 FPS. In quiet parts of the city I was seeing 150 FPS.

could someone please run a few benchmarks ?

thanks!

PS: mine is now ready for shipment ! Woot

I am starting to feel like the only one who ordered early(March 4) and still in a "Not Yet Shipped" status.

Don't feel alone--I ordered March 7th and still not one change or email EVER from apple saying anything. "Not yet shipped" is still my status.

Memphis, TN (USA) here

ordered March 3, 2009 @ 6:51pm PDT
3.06GHZ INTEL CORE 2 DUO
4GB 1066MHZ DDR3 SDRAM-2X2GB
ATI RADEON HD 4850 512MB
1.0TB SERIAL ATA DRIVE
IWORK '09 PREINSTALLED
APPLE MIGHTY MOUSE
KYBD (NUM) & USER'S GUIDE
COUNTRY KIT,IMAC 24

apple half-charged my credit card on 4/8, meaning it shows as "pending", but hasn't been throughly processed.

apple.com/OrderStatus now says prepared for shipment - occured between 2:00am et (went to bed) and 4:45pm et (got home from work)today, 4/10

no email as of this post, but If the pattern proves true, perhaps I'll receive my email at 6:00pm et tonight (~2 hours!) saying it has shipped.

however, apple.com/OrderStatus still says due to ship on 14th/arrive on 15th (overnight shipping)

I miss anything? tried to bold the notable stuff.

How lucky can you get? Wonder why the USA is last on the priority list to get ours. Most in the USA getting theirs today, were ordered towards beginning of March. And now you get your shipping notice in about 10 days while others have waited 30-40+ days. Consider yourself very lucky. :D

USA appears to be first priority, as those in USA who ordered march 3 are getting theirs BEFORE april 14th, whereas those who ordered from abroad are getting theirs AFTER april 14th

so can anyone run some standardized benchmarks on these 4850 radeon imacs (other than wow)?

@Bad Paper
The Geekbench score you get is worse than both early 2008 iMac 2.8GHz with 4GB of RAM, Ati Radeon HD 2600,
and mid 2007 iMac 2.8GHz with 4GB of RAM, Radeon HD 2600 according to Barefeats.
They got 4343 and 4160 respectively.

You're so lucky guys. My order status doesnt change and my cargo destination so long;

Apple will be ship my order to PowerMax, Powermax is ship to Salefashion in NY and they will be ship to me..

I dont know when I get...:(:(:(

What Days Do Apple Ship On?

Ok, didn't really want to start a whole new thread just for this quick question, but does anyone know if your order can change from "not yet shipped" to "Processed" etc on the weekends?
I am waiting from a call about my order status but now wont hear back from Apple until Tuesday due to weekend and then Easter Monday Hols here, so just wondering if I might still see movement on my order before then.
A simple "yes it changes on weekends" or "no it doesn't" would be fine.

Thanks very much!

so on average it's about 5% faster then the gt 130,
WOOT!!!! i think i'll cancel and order Nvidia,

My order has been shipped! However, with overnight shipping, why am I not getting it til April 13? FedEx is the shipper, and they do ship on Saturdays, and I did request overnight shipping. I may have to give Apple a call on this one.

Yeah, Windows only for GPU-Z. It really is one of the only tools to find out EXACTLY what the GPU is. Oh well.

Where did you get that 5% from?
According to Barefeats, iMac 3.06 Ghz with GT 130 received 4607,
it's even slower which doesn't make sense to me.
Not sure about xbench though.

@Tymbo
Oh I see. How come the difference is that huge? I thought since the iMac hardware specifications are almost identical, they should receive the approximately same score.

i took the early 2008 benchmark
http://browse.geekbench.ca/geekbench2/view/126382
and compared it to this
http://browse.geekbench.ca/geekbench2/view/126560
i think there will be a huge improvement with 10.5.7 OS update

hmm... anyone have video card benchmark comparison between gt130 and 4850? it seems like geekbench checks cpu + ram.

I see, thanks. You shouldn't expect to see any improvement in Geekbench though since they didn't test graphic part. And that's the only difference between the two.

I notice that Barefeats run the tests in 64-bit, but the two benchmark you posted are in 32-bit. Didn't know the difference is that big. I always thought the macs these days are running 64-bits OS, don't know where I get this idea from though.

It would be best if someone can run one or more of the Benchmarks that Barefeats ran on both the 2008 and 2009 iMacs as he tested with all of the video cards available for the past 18 months.

COD4, for example, which is a modern game and has a defined benchmark from him as well as claims from Apple on how much better the 4850 will run on the same platform equipped with GT130 card.

If the performance sucks then we put our faith in Apple to fix it through a driver update from ATI, etc, and if it comes down to that I wouldn't be holding my breath. We all know about previous fiascos in which it took Apple an entire year just to get performance up to what they had claimed it would be at product launch.
