Well I ordered on the 4th and now have my shipping confirmation. Its just been scanned in Shanghai and is due to be delivered to me in the UK on the 15th, so thats only 2 days to go. WOOO!
Does anyone know if you can get an iMac with the ATI video at the brick/mortar Apple stores yet?
I highly, highly doubt you can. They usually only carry the Standard configurations, and ATI being a BTO part, I don't think they will ever carry it.
Man...I ordered March 7th and still "Not yet Shipped" with no emails from Apple for anything.
So pissed that Apple is screwing over a batch of people who ordered before March 10th and putting people who just ordered their machines in April to get delivery before us. It's not just the UK, I'm seeing people get shipping to US as well.

From what I've read on this thread, the only people in the U.S. who have received shipping updates or received their iMac already ordered on March 3rd.
I ordered around 10pm on March 4th (I am in Chicago), but still no change in shipping status.
I ordered the 3.06 w/Radeon GPU

I just wonder why the USA is put on the back burner (low Priority) for some reason. This is very strange.
It's possible that Apple has all of our new ati 4850 imacs on some boat coming from China, then telling us that it will ship from the usa...possibly because the boat has not arrived in union city, ca yet...it is extremely frustrating to see all of these other posts from around the world that their orders have shipped (even if it will take them longer to get it) meanwhile we only get that it is in such high demand from apple's customer service...at this point i would like to get mine at least 2 or 3 days earlier...
More likely coming via the belly of a 777, 747, or A330 than a boat.
I can just picture right now cigarette boats off the coast of CA smuggling iMacs ashore....
that's possible..at this point it is really frustrating that
is taking the full six weeks to ship....i was told by customer service that it would be up to six weeks...my credit card was charged again last Thursday, still "not yet shipped." i called apple and was told that it was a pre-authorization so that they know the funds are there...but when the previous authorization fell off at the time of the order on March 6th, I was told by customer service that the next time I saw a charge would be when it shipped...now i get the pre-authorized speech and such high demand spill...i just want it shipped already..
I mentioned this before. They are assembling the iMac with the 4850 in CA not China.
Why do you call to Apple. I ordered to US. But I dont living US. If I know english very well I call to Apple immediately. But I will send to mail my shopping right now.

Sadly I don't think so. I am leaving for australia for 2 weeks in two days and I have a lot of getting ready still to do. I'm going to at least try out mass effect and bioshock and see how they run though.
...or do I cancel my non refundable round trip ticket to australia and play with my new computer.
I'll run glview when I get home to give you guys a base on the 2.93 4850s if no one posts any by then. Still got 5 more hours of work then I gotta get home and set it up so it will be a while.

Normally the prep doesn't take more then a day, I would expect it to ship within 24hrs.
BTW, where are you located, when did you order? Just wondering if they are moving down the chain as far as US shipments yet.
in GA usa, ordered on March 6th....so when u say 24 hrs, it could take 24 hours for it to go out? or for me to receive?
