Thanks to Tom Dahl, a member of this forum, I have some 4850 X-Plane benchmark results (vs other GPUs) to share....
Running X-Plane Demo 9.22 benchmark using a recorded 1 min flight of the X-15 dropped from a bomber, it produces results for three phases. Averaging these, we get....
iMac with GeForce 8800 GS = 70 fps
iMac with GeForce 130 GT = 71 fps
iMac with Radeon HD 4850 = 101 fps
Here's how the 2009 Mac Pro with various GPUs compares:
GeForce 120 GT = 43 fps
GeForce 8800 GT = 42 fps
Radeon HD 3870 = 154 fps
Radeon HD 4870 = 154 fps
It appears from the Mac Pro numbers that X-Plane "favors" ATI GPUs so don't draw too much from this. Hopefully we'll have results for a whole spectrum of graphics apps to share soon.
Whats going on with this? People who have ordered recently are getting their iMacs today, when others have ordered a month ago, and still have not received theirs? We need to all call apple and see if we can get this moving.
Now why would it make sense to put PCI-E under PCI when the two aren't even remotely the same?
Im sorry but What the f*ck is that?

We are still waiting and no any changes our order status. Im really piss off...
YAY! My system is shipping.... Just a question though... the package is currently listed with the following status:
Apr 11,2009 1:10PM - In transit - CALGARY, AB - Paperwork available for non-FedEx broker
No updates since then. Any idea what the "Paperwork available for non-FedEx broker" bit means? I've never ordered from the apple store before, so have never seen the above before.
Just a thought, the poeple who are ordering late and receiving their shipments early -- are they ordering BTOs or standard configs? Mine is still not shipped, not prepared, nothing, (ordered Mar.3), but it is cusomized. Wondering if there is a connection.
i was telling my buddy at work about how i was getting a new mac and all that...he's never had a mac...decided finally to give it a shot, so he ordered the same configuration as me

COUNTRY KIT,IMAC 24-DEU
I am in Germany and ordered it 23 March
I hope all you waiting out there receive yours soon![]()
this is all horse ****!!!! im so disappointed in the way apple shipped the imacs out... congrats u got yours but i guess it doesnt pay off to buy first!!!!
I'm pretty sure that country code DEU is Germany (Deutchland) and we've already seen that folks in countries outside of North America seem to be getting theirs faster at the moment. I did call Apple on my order today and they were willing to bump me up to overnight shipping at no charge, which will improve the odds I will be able to take receipt of the machine before I make an out of town trip at the end of the month.
They have to BTO's for them to have the ATI Card, right? Its not standard on any of the configs I thought.
@Prol1fik - Where are you? I ordered March 22 with a April 27 ship date too.
I am in Canada, ordered my 3.06 on Mar 3 and then changed the keyboard on Mar 10. (I dont know if this puts me at the bottom of the pile or not) and still no shipping. I just got off the phone with Apple and had a bunch of smoke blown up a certain part of my body after I told him I was annoyed that people who ordered theirs 2 weeks ago have theirs already. He said that this is the first he had heard about it and "would look into it". I told him I was not satisfied with his assistance today and then he thanked me for that information as well.
...you should send written letters to execs at Apple...

4850 mobility from Imac has this clocks , core/memory - 500/850 (mutiple x2 to get effective memory speed)
4870 from macpro has clocks - 750/850 (multiple x4 to get effective memory speed)
120gt has 3.5 times less execution units than 8800gt, strange results.
I would use furmark in crossover office as gpu benchmark, it uses opengl.
