Ordered March 20th.... It says its Not Yet Shipped. annnd Ships: Apr 24

I am SO irritated right now -- looks like those of us who ordered 3/16-3/18 have been skipped for now. My card has a pending charge, but my status still says "not yet shipped." Apple will be getting a call from me tomorrow.

I think they may be doing it by region in the USA. I live on the west coast section of the United States. Maybe you are on the Eastern side and they are doing that tomorrow but with the same dates. You might have results before you call Apple in the morning. If not, call em up and Raise Cain.

I ordered back on April 2nd the 3.06/4GB/4850/Wireless MM/Wireless Key.
My shipping status just got updated from its prior estimated shipping date of May 7th-13th. It is scheduled to ship within 4-6 business days on free expedited shipping and arrive between april 24 - 30th to Edmonton, AB, CAN.
I definitely recommend to anyone to give apple a call and ask about the status of your order. Ask when it is scheduled to ship and ask why it says on Apple's website that if you order now it ships in 4-6 days ( assuming that you've placed a prior order that is scheduled to ship in more than 4-6 days). I ended up paying 2500 cad + tax (about 2060 USD) for my machine with the wireless mouse/keyboard and free shipping. The trick is to be super polite! I'll update when it arrives.

So it seems that I am right, Apple is trying to ship a mast amount of iMacs during the last week of April. Hope they can manage all that.

Apple customer service was nice and helpful, I must say they are better than most customer service departments. However I wish this whole situation was handled better, they promised the shipments would go out in order and they obviously were not shipped out in order.
I just pray my unit doesn't have issues.

I just checked my status on my order again, and within the last couple hours my mac is now prepared for shipment! They charged my credit card tonight too... those guys at apple must be pulling an all nighter

Mine arrived yesterday. LOVING IT!!!
I did not pay for overnight shipping, but that is what they used - maybe because of the lengthy delay in getting these shipped out? Mine left California at 5pm on the 15th, and arrived at my house in NY yesterday afternoon.

I called customer service on April 15 (the day it shipped, but at that point, the web site did not indicate that my unit was preparing to ship... still stated the planned shipping date of April 20), complaining a little about how slow it all was, and why couldn't mine ship out before April 20. Customer service didn't seem to care, told me I was in line based on when I placed my order. I tried asking about expedited shipping, but the rep told me I'd have to pay for it, which I declined. So to be honest I was pretty surprised that it came overnight with no charge.

So far so good (keeping fingers crossed). It has been running a little hot, but no freezes yet.
Eek, mine's "prepared for shipment!" Angry call to Apple averted. Still says shiiping 4/21, arriving 4/22.

Ordered a 2.93 with the 4850 on May 16. Status changed today to "Prepared for Shipment". Good thing too because I only yesterday started franticly checking for updates ever half hour.

Interesting tid-bit
I order my iMac 3.06/4850/1TB on March 5th (have not received yet). From an Apple authorized reseller in Ontario, Canada.
I spoke with them yesterday and to my surprise they said they actually get theres a couple days later then if ordered from the Apple store yourself (there experience not necessarily everyone’s) so I guess for me I will get it directly from the fruit next time.
Second interesting note. Some people are talking about the whole ATI freeze problem thing and arguments over what is causing it. Well the interesting thing is that dev’s who are using Juno (10.5.7) say that there is a new updated ATI driver in it (it is actually being used to power the 4850 in hackintoshes) and that the card should be much better with the update.
Well here is hoping Juno is here soon …like the day my iMac arrives
