There is a 72 year old or something waiting in line, was on the news tonight!

Funny part was, he was the only one in line!

I want to win the lottery, so i can buy one!!! :)

It's likely, however...

It's completely possible (though we have not heard this) that the iPhone has the new version of iTunes in the box.

I'll bet against that - think about the lead time that went into packing those boxes - weeks! By not putting the iTunes bits in the box, they can make changes up until the roll out date - 6.29.

Welcome to the Interweb.

just a reminder

i will be a proud owner of an iPhone tomorrow. I cannot wait. Cannot. How am I suppose to sleep. My dad (skinny) just left to walmart to pick up our stake out items like cooler, chairs, sodas, plates, forks (for iPhone cake), and I am going to pick up our personal iPhone shirts in 20 minutes

hrm, shall i invest $2200 over 2 years on this phone!

Where are you going to be, i want some of that cake!!

Note the word possible. It's more likely that v7.3 comes in the demo box. People on these boards are right less often than they think they are... there are always possibilities. Including iTunes downloading additional updates for itself and the iPhone on or days after 6.29 . I agree that it's not likely, I'm merely pointing out that there are possibilities that the keyboard jockeys here (not working in either store) know less than they think they do.

I think it could be all of the above. I think that 7.3 will be in the box, and also be online. I think that you will see alot of people that want to get the software setup before they get the phone. Theres nothing worse than getting a new tow and having to wait 30 minutes to get everything installed for it.

did anyone else notice that the tattoos in the two original pictures got photoshopped out of the current versions of the pictures?

pretty funny.

I thought only regular users were supposed to be bitterly sarcastic, not mods.

Thanks for reading all 2 billion posts for me, though, as some of us don't quite have that much time on our hands. I appreciate it.

could somebody please dig up, or post, the user-agent string for the iphone? with so many live iphones out there visiting sites like this one, it should be easy for somebody to pull it up. thanks!

here you go:

Mozilla/5.0 (iPhone; U; CPU like Mac OS X; en) AppleWebKit/420+ (KHTML, like Gecko) Version/3.0 Mobile/1C9 Safari/419.3

Inventory number - 500 4g and 500 g models

I found this on Craigslist Seattle. Link and contents below. Looks like this lady is upset at people wanting $150 for their spot in the line for the iPhone.

APPLE IPHONE NEW - RELAX - APPLE WILL HAVE ENOUGH IPHONES

My boyfriend works at apple in Southcenter mall.

All stores will have atleast 500 iphones 4G and 8G models tomorrow. Plenty for every one to buy. Southcenter store have 1100 iphone tonight that will be for sale tomorrow.

For all of you trying to charge 100 - 200 dollars to stand in line is just unreal. Not to mention you can buy one at apple.com even if there is a little white at the apple store.

This is reliable information for all the Apple lovers.

best of luck to all.

Hello guys....

Last time I was on MacRumors there were onlt 5 pages of comments. I'm glad you guys were the ones to hear that a regular "Joe" got to tell you all I could about it. I'm truly IN LOVE with the device. a few things need some work but lt' a $5 or 600 well spent no doubt. Can't wait for you guys to get your hands on one.

Thanks for the moderators for editing my pics, the guy who photoshoped and edit out my tattoos. and the guys and gals that hit me up on myspace.

oh yeah and the haters...

I enjoy reading MacRumors all day everyday thanks again.

1. This guy only posts positive things, NOT bad.
2. Avoids certain questions.

Of course I really liked the pictures of the iphone and whatnot.

But I think somebody is pulling somebodys certain body organs.
More than one thing is fishy about this.

Not to offend the original poster nor anybody else but this has scripted written on it with cat-size letters!

But thanks for the pics! :)

Self-Activation Limited??

In an earlier post on this thread, I listed the System Requirements from the Apple website that are required for Home/Office self-activation. Nobody seems to have noticed a rather limiting factor for Mac users:

System Requirements:
"iPhone activation requires an Internet connection; an iTunes Store account or a major credit card; a valid Social Security number (as required by AT&T); the latest version of iTunes available at www.itunes.com and a PC or Mac with a USB 2.0 port and one of the following operating systems: Mac OS® X v10.4.10 or later; Windows XP Home or Professional with Service Pack 2 or later; or Windows Vista Home Premium, Business, Enterprise or Ultimate Edition. iPhone requires a new two-year AT&T service plan. Customers with existing AT&T accounts will have the option of keeping their existing phone number and upgrading their account to work with iPhone. See separate iPhone Service Plan press release for further details."

OS X 10.4.10 (which has only recently been released) still has issues that have not been resolved. (see MacFixit). :(

What about Panther 10.3.9 or Tiger 10.4.8 or 10.4.9?

Of course we know about iTunes 7.3, but where is it?

Will the early buyers require a trip back to the stores (Apple/ATT)?

Hello out there ......

DIXIE

How many IPHONE per shipping carton??

Good morning all.

Question for anyone who might work at an AT&T or Apple Store.

How many IPHONES are there inside of each Carton/Box that the stores received?

I happen to know how many Cartons my local Apple store is going to receive today.

But I can only "guess" as to how many phones are inside of each shipping carton.

My guess is 10-12 phones per carton.

Anyone???

Thanks

Rob in Vegas

For those that were asking about Meebo, I doubt it would work. I checked the source to the Meebo web pages and they use Flash. Since the iPhone doesn't support Flash I doubt Meebo will work.

Hello guys....oh yeah and the haters...
Nah, I think it's because you're implying it's your device, when it's clearly a demo.

Anyway, thanks for the pics. I'm sure we'll see a ton from everyone after 6pm today ....

How many IPHONES per carton?

The info that I have says that the Vegas Apple Store is getting "around 40" Cartons of IPHONES today.

So if it is "20 to 30" Iphones per carton, that would put it pretty close to the "1000 IPhones" estimate for APPLE stores that we have been hearing.

Can anyone else confirm?

Yes, way too many...

"What? Another picture of the screen? Thanks! We'll put that with the other million of the same..."

Even if it were 10-12 it would be close to 500.

Apple stores are getting big amounts. I know there are a lot fewer stores, but the buying public is not seeing it that way. I think getting a phone at an Apple store will be MUCH easier than at a AT&T Store.

Here is the picture of the shipping box I saw:

So it could be 10. I am assuming there are at least two layers, but if it is only 1, then it would be 10.
