They don't for any other handset upgrade, I seriously doubt this is any different. There has been nothing mentioned that says it would be required for a new handset to an existing account.
The rule is, if I read right, if you already are an existing customer for 1 year or longer, they wont run the credit check on you.
It's only for new customers.
Also have a bad credit score is not good in this situation.
You have to pay, assuming you want a 4GB, 499+tax. Then, 250.00 as a security deposit which you wont see in 2 years, assuming you dont default on those damn payments. Then if you want the Pay as you go plan, the cheapest one is 200 min, with all that data bundle ****, for 49.99
Not a good option...but no contract nonetheless.
Everyone has to pay 499/599 for this damn phone.
Unless youre an Apple employee. Steve is going to give away almost 3,000 8GB iPhone end july to the part-time, full-time employees who have been there longer than 1 year.
Its on engadget.com
oh it doesnt matter if youre paying cash or not. To activate the phone you need an iTunes account. If, when you put in a SSN#, and it denies you, dont expect to be using that phone. Drive back to the at&t store and deposit that 250.00. Dont even think about putting in someone else's SSN. Because if and when you get declined, you have to drive back to the damn store where a "specialist" is going to sit down with you and talk about your credit score and your options ( that's when he'll talk about the Pay as you go)
