For Us Windows Users: Jailbroken IPSW's for Everyone!

I don't want to be the a*shole here but, you know that the Dev Team has warned about these pre-made .ipsw. They have suggested not to use them or download them at all because of security concerns(yours), legality of modified .ipsw handling, and probable tampering of the tool used to create said .ipsw.

They would rather have you have a friend you know make your .ipsw than you download it off the internet.
 
I'm on a 3GS currently jailbroken on 3.0.1. I'm on AT&T but wouldn't mind keeping my phone unlockable due to resale value. If it's not possible, then no big deal.

Is there any benefit of restore to this custom firmware over upgrading through iTunes and then running blackra1n? I know this might be a little easier, but is there any other benefit? Does it keep it unlockable?

Yes they said this. But as long as we are using a trusted ipsw (meaning that it's comming from a trusted site/member, or someone before us has used it and reported that it's working fine for them) then we should be fine. It's sad, but its the only option we windows users have lol.

Will be sending PM's in about 10-15 mins, on my way to work.

I just noticed that you need 5 posts before a PM can be received.
I'm new on the forum last night and working toward that goal.
Does the option to allow PM's not show up until I post 5 times??

iPhone 3G, white, 16gb, presently jailbroken with redsn0w to 3.01. Partition size unknown. Afraid to use blackra1n. Don't want to wait for redsn0w for PC - if it's ever released. Many Cydia Apps and repos installed. Not unlocked - using ATT.
 
Have a 3GS jailbroken with 3.0x.
Would like PM for custom update for ATT.

Do i need to run iReb for the 3Gs, i see on the website it only says for Edge Phone, and 3G. Those of you with 3.1.2 and 3GS's any success? Did everything go well? when Shift+restore.

I wanna do this but man i dont want to try and restore and get that ugly Error, do i need to enter DFU mode for those that did it or simply restore? thanks
 
Now that I've learned a bit , let me repost my request for the custom Ipsw. I have a 16gb white 3g that was jailbroken with redsn0w to 3.01. Partition size is 500 mb. I have the original Att carrier and do not need to unlock for T-Mobile, etc. Thank you in advance.

I have a 3GS and a 3G, and the Shift+Restore worked flawless on both. No need for iReb, no need for DFU mode.

One question - will my ability to use PUSH be impacted? I see a lot of firmwares floating around that warna bout PUSH not working.

My phone is a 3G 8GB with AT&T

Hacktivated phones (meaning activated with pwnage tool and not iTunes) have trouble with push.

If your using an Unactivated ipsw (if your iPhone is on AT&T) then you will be good to go.
