“getting noticed”

THIS thread is still the only place on the internet I’ve seen this, and I do my Apple-centric News scan several times a day….
That’s my point. If this has been going on for 4 years, why is now on this site the only time it has ever been reported? That doesn’t make sense.

That's obvious why. No Apple-posting news site wants to risk being wrong about this. It would damage their reputation.

Actually, the weird thing is that this isn't being reported by any general tech companies / influencers, despite the billboards. But again, maybe no one wants to risk speculations.

Media doesn’t care about being wrong. They gobble up clickbait speculation stuff if it had even a shred of credibility . The fact that clickbait media isn’t touching, says it all. Apple gets clicks, others not so much.

From one of the deleted Reddit threads…

“Checked with some friends who work at Apple. This is fake, and has been bouncing around online since 2020. In fact, they’re asking if the OP is the one who printed it out since it’s not even the same paper, font, or imagery used by Apple.

Moderators, please delete this post since it’s confirmed by multiple Apple employees as spam and misinformation.”

So, that’s apparently why the mods have been deleting the posts.

THOUGH, perhaps this is ACTually the way Apple would shake things up with the introduction of a brand new type of phone! Even going as far as making sure their employees tell anyone that asks about it, it’s fake! They are ALL in on it!
Why would there be expensive, high-visibility billboards, in multiple countries, for a three year old hoax?

If someone finds evidence of this existing three years ago I might change my mind, but this whole thing has proven itself to be legitimate and we're all just trying to figure out what it is.

Also big reddit subs delete a massive percentage of posts, even if it's valid content

Just wondering, I guess you just left the papers behind in the Cupertino cafe? And you didn't get a look at the other ~20 pages?

Great, now we have an even clearer proof this is Apple- the bottom port and speakers are a perfect match to an Apple product. Seriously, a copycat company would get sued for this.
Also notice in this shot how the spot where the sleep/wake would be is blackened out. So yeah, the complete iPhone design is staring us right in the face.
The bottom looks like an iPhone, though I feel like the sleep/wake button should at least be partially visible if it's to be similar to the iPhones we know today. The sleep/wake button has been just above the halfway point on the recent models. The blackened out part looks to be higher up. This could be render of an entirely new phone, so Apple could have moved the button up...or another company could have made the bottom look like an iPhone (i.e. adding more holes to the Redmi 12).

Are you intentionally being so daft? Bottom holes flanking the charging port as seen in the billboard phone is fairly unique to Apple.
The holes on both sides of the port isn't unique to Apple. These are just a few other examples I found after a quick search. I'm sure there's more.

I saw some people mention Xiaomi earlier. I know they don't sell in the US, at least not currently, but let's not forget all the times they've copied Apple.

Now all this isn't to say that I think Xiaomi is behind this now, or that it's not Apple...but more as a reminder that companies love to copy Apple. (OnePlus did too in an earlier post of mine.) Just because it may look like an iPhone, it isn't proof that it is an iPhone. Heck, I thought the Huawei ones were iPhones and had to do some double-checking.

LOL I just can't believe this thread was so many comments already, of something that is entirely unfounded and there's not a single indication that these could actually be legit Apple materials.

Guess this is why phishing scams are so common nowadays.

Well here it is fellas.

There’s a typo in the documents in the original photos: ”the way the world things about…” should be “the way the world thinks about…” but maybe someone has mentioned this already? So whoever typed the document and did the proofreading the 1st time (and then a 2nd time with post-it notes for some reason) missed it—perhaps while on their way to ordering the billboard on https://www.timessquarenyc.org/do-b...g-sponsorships/digital-screens-billboards#tss or on their way to the airport to plaster an ad on the side of a bus stop in England?

Thanks for sharing these, I wasn't aware. Goes to show how copycat the phone market is right now... not necessarily a bad thing, since it seems natural that circled speaker grilles and a centered USB-C port make the most sense.

Well here it is fellas.
Wow nice find! So is this a brand new startup company? And they're deliberately releasing their product on the same day as the iPhone?

My friends Cupertino barbers cousins girl friends dads step dads nephew confirmed it’s a company started by Steve Wozniak.

It was a wild chase guys, I really enjoyed the ride. Thanks to everyone who contributed evidence.
Honestly, I still look forward to hearing about this "Rphone" launch on Sept 12... even if it's a flop.

I don’t think it was posted, but not surprising. They likely ordered the billboards online with the company card then asked one of their friends on social media to put up a poser for ‘em.

Where’s the guy that said this was a hoax for 4 years? LMAO
Where’s the guy that said this was most certainly an Apple product even with no Apple logo? :D To me, a guy that said, “This isn’t Apple, it’s been circulating for awhile.” Is STILL more accurate in the sense of “Is this Apple or not”. By roughly 100%.

It’s okay, at least I have an imagination 😂. Good try though. That was fun.

I don’t know, this could STILL be Apple. Just another thing to throw people off the trail (notice the video doesn’t include the Apple logo or fonts just like the other clues!). Sure there’s a lot that says it’s not Apple, but c’mon, if they’re planning to shake up the industry, not using any of their branding principles is PRECISELY how they’d do it!

Just wait, Tuesday is a’coming!
