They are mostly capacitors and 1/2 resistors
Thanks for the information..got two questions: )...so do you think that model of adapter is safer then the popular one that most of the people using atm...and is it possible The capacitors or resistors which coded such as c1 c2 c3 ..are about sleep comment/signal ?
[/QUOTE]

A1708 model doesnt have issue with sleep, but it has issue with power management when using NVME, and those capacitors and resistors might actually help.

here's sample from my NVME to USB C board, and those resistors capacitors are common thing to be found WhatsApp Image 2020-10-20 at 11.18.44.jpeg

This 2280 does not seems to produce so much heat thanks to better efficiency
Maybe worth to try
Don't use it yet,

it has firmware issue which make it won't work on macOS. People already tried it on 2013-2015 model.

i get it now thanks.

Only i can say is that Kioxia Exceria working just fine.
Sadly, the exceria is only in 2280 format, it seems that the only 2230/2242 form factor from Toshiba/Kioxia, are the client BG series...i was thinking of buying it, but i wouldn't make another return if not compatible

Hallo people. I got a couple NFHK adapters from aliexpress, the one with over 500 orders already. Then I had here a couple samsung 970 EVO NOT PLUS, just the good old regular 970 evo, period, no plus version...

Got over 3000mb/s in read sometimes, and in write 2300mb/s

The problem: it doesnt stand flat when the cover is re installed... shame... Gonna have to get one of those Sabrent little ssd cards, right? unless you guys stuur me to another model, let me know, thanks!!!

Anyhow, I ordered the sabrent little 512gb ssd, let's see how it performs this is a 2017 A1708.

I just booked an appointment to a Genius Bar for the butterfly keyboard issue...so they‘ll change the entire top case (Palm rest area?)

They told me if it is more than one key they change the whole top case
For me it was « space bar », « p » and « m »

Hi lolito, I’m using the 1tb sabrent, which is a little faster than the 512gb, however, both sizes of the sabrents are considerably lower in speed performance than the Samsung you are using right now, just to let you know...

Hi,

I've installed a Sabrent Rocket 512Gb SSD with a NHFK adapter from AE last weekend. First time it was not recognized, so I removed it and plugged in again, working perfectly. The problem I have now is a known problem in that forum related to battery drain. I tried this 2 commands different days to test if they're working, without success:

sudo pmset -b tcpkeepalive 0
sudo pmset -b hibernatemode 25 (in this case, then I did a SMC reset)

The drain is about 20% of battery in 12 hours. I'm going to try the solution of @Manscho12 in the message #187, hope it works!

And also speeds are slower than with the original 128Gb SSD, around 440Mb write and 1600 read, when with original SSD they were about 700mb write and 2200 read. I suppose it is caused by the file indexing, but I am not sure if a week is enough to index almost 400Gb of data.

regards

my speed results with 1tb sabrent are also inconsistent, I think its related to his memory cache that quickly goes full

I ordered one, expect delivery soon

Actually i test everything even lilu and nvmefix.. kexts enabled apst in sabrent and it manages to lower the watt to 0.0010 that istat cant read and unfortunatly still battery drains ,upgrade the smc version to catalina one and return to mojave :)) also put it to encloser to check sabrents firmware from windows..
Eventually it is a driver issue when i check with iopowermanager it showed me the nvme as generic drive.....last thing yes new adapter and big sur's new bootrom i didnt check.

It will always said "Generic" in any OS higher than High Sierra, so that not your issue,

try disabling your tcpkeepalive

my MacBook is just come back from apple service, they've changed the top case for the keyboard issue, with a new top case, obviously there's a new battery. Now I'm waiting for the new version of the NGFF adaptor, hoping it resolve the question mark folder issue at boot...

Not received yet, as soon as I have it, I'll do some tests
Thank you for reply, so I will wait, because I already own 2 NFHK adapters and the same have the problem power on with charger plugged...
If it works with the new adapter, then perfect

I hope it too, I guess you are using the sabrent rocket... from what I’ve read, it seems that wd sn520 ssd doesn’t have this charger issue, sadly my MacBook couldn’t reboot with the WD sn520, probably a faulty unit, so I return it...but I'm thinking of buying another one WD, and maybe test it with the new adapter...
