I might caution the MacRumors posters: I believe that this kind of denigration of character is actionable under slander and libel laws. While he may sure look like a cheat, are you willing to bet a legal penalty? Maybe the original poster timsq/svenr is a fraud himself or the same person. Maybe the fraud-ster is able to beat the charges in court. Maybe etc.

Bottomline: I wouldn't allege fraud on a specific individual or company, unless I could personally guarantee that he was in fact fraudlent, and I'm guessing that none of the posters, no matter how much it looks that way can.

lawmanca, Funny that you've only posted 4 times as of today and all four are in MacWhiz threads in which you either defend this alleged fraud or claim to have purchased and been the only person to receive a computer from this company.

Dennis, tsk tsk, come clean, there are many people trying to catch you. You'll slip up eventually.

Hey Lamanca....

We all know who you are. I will be the first in line if Dennis wants to sue me for lible or slander. He's an out and out slime ball who is continually ripping people like me off. I lost over $1000 myself a year ago, and usually once he gets your money you never hear from him again.

I would love it if he tried to sued us for slander, but he couldn't if he tried, because we have so many criminal complaints against him for internet fraud that if he showed his face he would be in prison for years.

Come on Dennis! Your a scamming fraud and you think your so slick you'll never be stopped! Well, how would you like a class action suit against you by all of us who you have ripped off? Come on, Dennis! Whose your attorney? Mine would love to speak to him. I'm sure the FBI would too!

I'm sure I know of several TV news programs that would love to get ahold of a story like this...60 minutes, 48 hours, 20/20, Heraldo Rivera...just to name a few....they love a good story about internet fraud, in fact, I'm wondering if this could go under a Homeland Security issue?

Anybody else have any thoughts?

scammed!!

I got scammed by our friend Denis! $$2600 down the toilet.
Wish I had found this site earlier. Last e-mail I got he said he would be sending me a refund,
that was a month ago. I've filed a report with the FBI and local police...
hope they catch this bastard, but doubt I'll get my money back if when they do. ****in scammer!!!!!

ok someone answer this for me. you guys have his wire transfer info. can't someone go to that bank or have the police just looks up his address for his account. i have a feeling it's way more complicated than that, but i just had to ask.

You should be ashamed of yourself for defending (or possibly even being) this scum of the earth...

Macfanatic is a lying theif of the worst kind... Has to hide behind a keyboard... Dennis is lower than whale crap... to anyone considering doing business with him — RUN- DON"T WALK away... He is a scumbag (my apologies to bags of scum) who will steal your hard earned money & then disappear behind the protection of his keyboard...

There, I've slandered him & his "business" in a public forum...
NOW SUE ME for it... ROFLMAO... Did I mention you're a scum for defending this guy?... If not consider it done...

Well, that settles it. I'm never going to do business with those guys. ;)

Someone here was organizing a case against this guy I believe. Is any progress being made on it still?

Has anyone considered hiring a private investigation firm(or maybe a bounty hunter :D ) . A couple dollars from each person involved would probably cover it. Many others would probably be willing to donate.

What ever happend to the guy who would check out the warehouse?

And I will deffently call / write to Bank Of America.

Check this out

The whole macwhizshop thing right?

Me and the guys here sent an email from the site to the email listed for shi*s and giggles telling him that "They will find you." They emailed me back...funny and very ballsy.

Hi everyone,

I updated my site yesterday. No major changes, just to keep up with the latest developments and adding the latest victims I know of. Please check out www.bustspammers.com/macfanaticshop-fraud/

I also changed the "Can you help?" section a bit. I'd like to urge everyone to bug Bank of America to cooperate with the FBI until they can't take it anymore. Since the people in Blaine apparently can't be bothered, spare the few cents for a stamp and write a letter to BofA headquarters. Calling their 1-800 customer service line or sending emails will probably not get you very far.

To lawmanca: Yes, I do denigrate your character. I do it intentionally, deliberately, and I will do it again anytime. Just add my name under the long list timsq posted. There you have it, about every insult and denigration in the book. If you don't like my website accusing MacFanaticShop of fraud, try to take it down! Send me a cease-and-desist order! Sue me for slander! As others pointed out I would be VERY happy :) if you did, because you would finally have to reaveal your ugly real face. But of course you won't do that because, yes, I can "personally guarantee that he was in fact fraudlent" from the many conversations I personally had with your victims.

To SikeWalker: Apparently you tried to buy your first Mac. Reading your exchange with MacFanaticShop's Charalambides there is something that should've given away that he's not actually selling you Macs. I sent you a private note about it; I don't want to educate Mr. Charalambid here. I can only urge everyone to do their homework before buying a new computer, esp. when you're switching systems for the first time! Know what to expect and then use common sense. Look for warning signs and, as many have said, if it's too good to be true it probably is.

macfanaticshop-more victims

Hi Sevrn!

Here are two more victims that had emailed me in the last year to add to the list of vistims that have been ripped off:

Username: Dusan - Sent Jan. 6, '04
I am from Germany. I have ordered 2 Powerbooks and iBook for round about 3300 USD. Does the FBI or someoneelse do anything against them?
I have pay by wire transfer in November!!! What can I do. Could you help me perhaps??? I want to have my money back! He also told me that I am in backorder...

Username:vinmingee - Sent Dec. 16, '03
I just wanted to let you know that I had the exact same run in with
Dutchak as you and the others. I purchased a G4 on Nov 18.
Now he's got my money. I was busy today getting up to speed on this MAC
Whiz thread and alerting the authorities. I also contributed to your complaint
on ifccfbi.org. So if there is anything else to do, please contact me.

Thanks, all of you. Justice will prevail!

just a thought (probably rubbish):

someone a few posts ago talked about going to tv channels to see if they fancy making a programme about it? would they pay for the story? if so split the fee recieved among the people who have been scammed on here. probably a rubbish idea. anyway idea 2:

in the UK htere is a programme called crimewatch. they tell the story on tv etc and ask for information. I dont know if there is a programme in the US like this but if there is it might be a good idea to go to them and educate the whole of the country.

also maybe a rubbish idea.

oh also what happened to that person who was going to pay his warehouse a visit a few pages ago? did anything come of it?

Just wanted to point out an interesting recent NYTimes story that someone sent me: "Operation Web Snare"

Unfortunately, it seems Mr. Charalambides was not among them, but I'm sure he will be next!

To russed: The ideas are not "rubbish", but it's difficult to get the media's attention. Internet scams are unfortunately a fact of life these days and the media won't pick up a story unless it has some sort of novelty to it or a certain scale. That's why it's so important that victims speak out, make themselves known - even though it might be a bit embarassing at first!

Been Gone...But Now I'm Pissed!!!

OK folks, I've stayed out of this for awhile but I just had my last round with Bank of America who has been hosting this clown and now I want to go after them. There is an investigation into this (or so I was led to believe) but since I've been left out of it at this point...I want justice!

I have the names of the Bank of America people in Executive relations who know all about this and say that I must deal with "him"...he who has had multiple (I know of 2 myself) account numbers at the same branch. I have a letter from them blowing me off and now I want to either go to the media or attempt a class action suit if possible. Whoever is willing to get involved (it will take some energy) message me and let's do it.

Applecompany = Macwhiz?

This thread about Macwhiz reminds me of a guy that robbed me a couple of years
ago using the name "APPLECOMPANY", I wired $$6,400 to this jerk Vitaly Kolesnicenko in the Ukraine for a 3 Powerbooks.
It definitely sounds like the same scam, he actually called me at home to confirm the order and sweet talked me into
buying 3 powerbooks instead of the 2 that I initially ordered. The authorities here in the States have not been much
help and forget about the police in Europe... only lead to this guy was the number he called me that day from
was traced back to El Paso, Texas and registered to Best Deal Computer Warehouse (915) 533-3355.
According to the manager no one by the name of Vitaly Kolesnicenko has ever worked there.
All one needs to do is keep on searching for this fellow and one day he will surface and justice will be served.
Can't count much on getting any of my money back but seeing him behind bars will be satisfaction enough.

Bruce

Hi all,

I added a forum to my site last week. It's only for victims because I feel that some people might be too embarrassed to speak up in public (here). It's a private place; if you feel you should get access, email me. As it's very new, there isn't much activity yet, but I'd like to encourage victims to come over and "get the party started". We can do it!

It would be great if you could share that info in the victims' forum, ovrdrvn! I think that would be a good place to organize people for a class-action suit or similar action. If anyone has better suggestions, pls let me know.

Interesting to see what comes up when you google for the name. I don't think it's MacWhiz though, but you never know. do you have any more info? Are you djphat who posted on ukraine.com?

It looks like isaveclub.com may have escaped also so far.

As to the media, it is a hard sell for many of the reasons you stated. The issue is that if the Macwhiz shop sold more than Mac's and had more victims, you might see something like Dateline or 60 Minutes doing a "sweeps" piece on it.

Thanks for the info.

I was getting ready to change from my bank to BoA. Not any more. I will checking to see what credit cards I have that are tied to BoA and cancel them with a copy of this thread and you message.

What BoA doesn't realize that ONE bad experience is spread to at least TWENTY other people. Forgot what the ratio is for "good" feelings, but it seems that BoA doesn't care. So I will deny them as much as I can of my money to them.

ripped off

I'm a victim of macfanaticshop.com. I paid $2200 for a powerbook and wired the money. Needless to say, I never got anything. If anybody is doing anything to catch this guy pls count me in. Thx

Argh

Just finished with this mongo thread last night.

People like that make me sick. To everyone who's been victimized, my sympathies.

But what I don't understand is if people have contacted the authorities, why is this guy still around?

It's been over a year since this thread began.

The wheels of justice grind slowly I guess...
