i would just like to point out, that paladin55 joined on the 5th of november this year (yesterday), and made two posts. both were in this tread, both were accusing timsq who has been around here for a while and has been doing his part in tracking down dennis. humefear joined on the 6th of november this year (today), has made only 2 posts, both in this thread, and both were supporting paladin55.

just stating the fact.

Macmaniacz is the latest version of this scam. To focus on anything else is pointless, namaste. I know that Dennis is scared because this forum is getting closer to the adaptations and mutations he applies to his scam site. Macmaniacz has an interesting conotation. I mean you would be the maniac looking for a good deal and this guy preys on bargain hunters. The Z at the end reminds me of the Z at the end of wareZ, as in stolen or cracked. The psychological profile is a misogynist, loner with a beef towards Mac users and a tendency for voyerism. He enjoys watching his victims writhe with anger over having lost their money to him. He must be a poor gambler or perhaps he had a poor relationship with his father. It's hard to tell, but we can see how easy these traits fit. I can't wait to see this whole scam brought down.
You're all invited to lunch anytime you're in New Orleans. Just send me an email when you're coming. :D

how come so defensive? are you trying to hide behind you reasoning?
are you willing to post your full name and phone number on this board so we can check you out? i know i would and so would other victims I've been in touch with.

are these victims also involved with Dennis just because they are newbies and posted a few times?

SikeWalker 3 posts - all in this thread
chirag 7 - posts all in this thread
enentrup 4 posts - all on this thread
baldsoprano 1 post - all on this thread
mistral 4 posts - all in this thread
spinneres 1 post - all in this thread
lildancer 16 posts - all in this thread
flowerbug89 2 posts - all in this thread
dallama 1 post - all in this thread

you should get your facts straight before posting. Did you loose money? I don't think so if not you would be trying to find these guys no matter what instead of posting silly remarks.

Sure, but they haven't posted defending Paladin... The point he was making was a fair one- maybe you have gotten scammed, maybe you haven't- but by siding w/ Paladin on his ridiculous accusation, & it being your only posts here, it's only natural to question your motives...

well you know, if you had looked at the statistics and what i said you would see that i do have my facts straight.

humefear said:

no, i did not lose any money, i'm 15 years old. how do you propose i buy something with a credit card?

humefear said:

i've been doing all that i can do to find this guy, which admittedly isnt a lot. again, i'm 15, i dont have a car, i dont have an income etc.
all i did was to point out that paladin55 accused one of the most active members in this thread, that he did so in his only two posts, and that you sided with him in your now 4 posts. read the thread. timsq has been one of the most active members, he's contributed a lot of information, (not to mention some excellent slandering ;) ) i dont think that he has any connection with dennis. Why? because the things he's done have probably hurt dennis and his "business" a great deal.

Edit: i'm not trying to get into a huge argument here. i have no desire to get banned. i'm simply trying to clear things up. im not saying that you have any connection with dennis, but just that timsq definitely does not, and that paladin55 has either been misled, or is, in fact, dennis. hopefully it's not the latter. but i would be willing to bet a lot of money that timsq is not associated with dennis. i would simply suggest that you reread all the things that timsq has posted and see if that changes your opinion.

This is exactly what i'm trying to get at. what has he done that's so great. you say he hurt his business a great deal. How can this be? i still see the same domain that scammed me online and doing business as usual. Even past sites are up and running.

Not misled, just little wiser after you hit 40. Things aren't always what they seem to be. Could be that paladin is Dennis as you say, I don't know, know one does at this point. what i do know is that the information that paladin and other victims have emailed me have led me to doubt this whole thread and it's true motive.

paladin55 has accused svenr and timsq. read from page 12 on, you'll see the things they've done, svenr has put up a rather extensive website on the matter. looking at this again, i think that paladin55 is dennis, or someone working for him. the reason that he is here is to accuse some of the most active members in the thread, and to make us not trust them. it looks as if he's been somewhat successful. please reread from page 12 on and lets stop this nonsense.
apologies for my earlier post, i was a bit quick on including you in it. i was mostly aiming at paladin55. i wasnt intending to accuse you of anything, although in retrospect it looks like i was. ;) :)
once again, sorry.

a bit off topic, but i was thinking of a way to bring down the website. theoretically, dennis has a bandwidth limit on this website, so is there any application that i could use to download the entire thing to my hard drive? if so, i could make an applescript that would download it, delete it off my hard drive, download it, delete it off my hard drive, etc. that would eat through the bandwidth pretty quickly :D . especially if we got a number of people doing it
Edit: 50 points to anyone who figures this one out and replies before i go to sleep in an hour :p
Edit 2: got bored and did some searching. heres the first application i found, downloading http://www.macmaniacz.com/ now, we'll see how much space it takes up, hopefully a lot. perhaps everyone else here should start and eventually the website will run out of bandwidth  .
and Edit 3: downloaded the site, looks like its only 3 MB, so it'll take a lot of downloading to get much of anywhere. i'm going to sleep now seeing as how it's almost one in the morning, i'll look into this more when i wake up :)

The voice of reason. Good post. I haven't been scammed so I can't begin to think what it would be like to lose the kind of cash some of you have. But I highly doubt timsq would have his .mac homepage listed on his user profile.

Just a thought.

Good luck with the fight, guys.

My point (pointy object)

If more people did simple searches of e-tailing websites that have too good of a deal, the people that macmasteshop, macwhiz, macmaniacz, macfanaticshop, and others might have scammed would have easily found this forum. When we speak freely about our experiences and we hold contempt for those who would rip us off, we help others who could likely become victims of the same fraud. I don't have the first clue how to take this guy's site and future revisions of it off of the web for good. That's not how the internet was designed. However, you can get taken advantage of where ever you may go. I am in a dispute with a car dealership who is refusing to warranty an obvious defect. I have no power in this situation other than my voice.
My weapon of choice is the tongue. Sharpened, it can split this guy and websites like him into bits. Don't stop here at MR, go to other forums and where ever you see his name and business advertised and speak up. I do. It may not be much, but it's better than bickering with your peers. (end soapbox)

Give it a rest Joseph. I've been around here since the beginning of this discussion and I know who's been here all along and who's come and gone. The ones who've stayed on are not going anywhere and I trust them to be who they say they are - some of them I've had private email from - the ones who've signed on an posted a few times and then disappeared aren't worth worrying about.

Nobody is going to post their name and address here, nor should they. Don't be ridiculous. Even if you did post a name and address so we could "check you out" how would we know it was really you?

This thread has saved a lot of people from wasting their money on a fraud. I'm sorry that you didn't find it before you sent away your hard earned cash, but don't try to ruin the thread for others who might come along and need this information.

LOL... Don't bother... Humefear, you're well on your way to getting this thread sent to wasteland- shame really, because I believe if it's helped even 1 person from getting robbed by this guy it's been worth it & should stay... Sorry Newb, but you're out of line on this one... You called one of the most active members of this forum in this thread out, he blew off your request & no one here thinks any less of him for it... Now let it go, before this thread gets shut down... Then again , that could very well be YOUR goal... You can flame me all you want- there won't be a response from me because that would only contribute to your mission... Enjoy having , HOPEFULLY, the last word with me, it's all yours...

you talk about TRUST online? i did that once and i lost alot of money.
listen i see that somehow all of you are protecting someone you don't even know. timsq could have rigged this whole thread in advance. posted on other threads or topics to make look like his an active member of this community. all i'm asking him is if he posted his real name and phone number we could verify this doing a search thru an online phone directory. i would call him up and confirm that he is the user timsq, that's it! will clear his name. i will apologize to him publicly on this board and we can move on. i am on a mission to find these individuals and have more reason than you. you've been just an observer and hav'nt been touched by the beast, what will happen if timsq and svenr is truly Dennis? what will you say then..oh i though he was a good person......he was so helpfull. i wasn't born yesterday either. i did my due diligence before buying and still got scammed. i won't be fooled again! and won't let anyone get in between me and the beast.

In regards to trust, we have to go on the public record of posters on this site. If you look at timsq's and svenr's posts back in February you'll see they were quite helpful and part of the discussion in trying to warn people/help bring down these fraudulent sites. They have a long record of posts and membership to stand on. You and paladdin55 (whose IPs just so happen to resolve to a BC location) are newbies throwing accusations around with no proof that has yet been shared.

I would ask that no further discussion of other forum members' identities/trustworthiness be made until some tangible proof comes forward - until then, further discussion will be considered a personal attack and dealt with in accordance with the forum rules. I am reachable by private message if anyone wishes to discuss this further.

Smells like a rat in here

Paladin e-mailed me this pic and says that this is Denis and has more solid evidence to come.

I've already sent this DL image to the Detective in chrge of my case.
If this is you timsq I'm flying down to New Orleans tomorrow and have you put behind bars.

i understand that that's why you posted it, but im afraid the source is a bit obscure, svenr and timsq are definitely not dennis though, that leaves one option, paladin55, the one who has been accusing them.
again, im not trying to get in an enormous argument that results in people getting banned, im just here to get the facts straight.

What ever do you mean?

The devil is in the details and the emails I see. Lucky for me he doesn't cause any worry. I have nothing to hide or prove, but if you're coming to New Orleans, please come by and see me. Here's my mug so you won't have any trouble recognizing me. I don't have any proof that people posting here are or are not involved with either side of this scam. It seems silly that anyone other than victims, concerned citizens, and authorities would be in this forum and perhaps the perpetrator on occasion whose whereabouts have been suggested to be in the extreme northwest US and BC , Canada. Macmaniacz is probably already being ported to the next incarnation and we need the hunt it down before their victims find it. Of course it would be a blessing if the FBI or RCMP would step in and kick some grifter booty. I guess until then the revelations are all on us.

May be irrelevant

http://observer.guardian.co.uk/cash/story/0,6903,1345117,00.html

Canadian Dennis Charalambides is in charge of the desk here. 'I love the job. Everything's manageable,' he says.
I don't know if this is the same person, or completely unrelated. It is pretty recent, so it might not have been picked up as yet. The article refers to http://www.wizz2u.com/ which I know nothing about. Anyway, just a heads up, nothing more. Also, there's this press release here:
