Just tried installing on Mac Pro. Also experienced the full black screen almost immediately after the popup appeared. Tried connecting via screen sharing and the MBP would not connect. Also tried VNC. No luck. Was almost like all connections were shut down. Did a hard system power off. Crossed fingers. Powered on and everything (eventually) loaded as usual.

Reports 387.10.10.15.15.108 on Mac Pro 5,1 in NVIDIA Driver Manager and same report in CUDA Preferences.

AFTER rebooting, clicking on SECURITY & PRIVACY in System Preferences has an ALLOW button active for:
System software from developer "NVIDIA Corporation" was blocked from loading.

View attachment 778719

Clicked ALLOW and it disappears. Shut down system. Powered back on. Everything seems to be operating normally. Screens loaded at the same time they usually do.

Authentic Mac Pro 5,1 with non-EFI (generic PC version) of GTX 1080 Founders Edition 8GB in Slot 1 internally powered via dual mini 6-pin to standard 8-pin cable.
So a hard restart brought back the screen, but there’s nothing listed as blocked in the security pane. Driver says version 387.10.10.15.15.108. I guess it fixed itself?

There WAS a listing for NVIDIA in SECURITY & PRIVACY in the System Preferences that ALLOW needed to be clicked for, but the screen (and driver) did load prior to this, reporting the new 387.10.10.15.15.108 version. Something was blocked by Security & Privacy but not 100% sure what that was.

All I can find so far are some .plist startup file updates in system LaunchAgents and user LaunchDaemons.

There are updated extensions with 10.33.0 versions (all from NVIDIA) but some are not currently loaded. Not 100% sure what this means right now.
EDIT: Believe it's loading only the appropriate drivers for the GTX 1080 FE, but someone else may have more insight if it's needed.

[doublepost=1535649161][/doublepost]Is this the first time VOLTA drivers are available for Mac? If so, I'm sure those that dropped $3K on a TITAN V or $9K on a Quadro GV100 will appreciate it.

They are here quite a few months ago.

Has anyone else ran WOW since the update? I’m getting horrible performance and activity monitor says WoW is only using half a cpu core? Less than 40%.
Actually it’s not just wow, I’m seeing stuttering when I drag safari windows around. I’m wondering now if the drivers are actually enabled properly.

Same thing happened to me...went black before I could hit Allow...

Now it seems I can’t even rollback to previous 105 driver. Am I effed?

Same here, restarted before I could allow the driver in security pane.

Than I could not log in, after typing the password the login pane reappeared again and again.

I had to start macOS in security mode (holding shift key) to allow the new driver. After a restart now all seems fine.

Update: The scroll bug in Safari has been resolved! Finally. :)

I don't have WOW, but Starcraft II is not slower than before.

Just finished a few Adobe renders and seeing 5-7% faster results with the updated 387.10.10.15.15.108 driver compared to nearly identical timelines yesterday. Lots of factors can play into this, but would absolutely be seeing slower renders if there was an issue. No pre-renders or cached elements.

Several random issues have not presented themselves yet, such as random inconsistent black bars on filenames in Finder that disappeared when clicked on. Hopefully this means an improvement or fix.

Installed and everything is fine. Don't what this added. BUT, if the Nvidia System Extension is NOT installed, acceleration will be off. AMHIK:oops:

Nothing. Is there a way to manually allow them?

You may want to download and run the full installer again first. People have had better luck with that in previous versions before really attempting to workaround.

Worth double-checking:
Are you using a script to use a previous driver version?
SIP enabled?
Allow apps downloaded from "App Store and identified developers" selected in Security & Privacy?

Believe this added Volta driver(s).

NVIDIA System Extension meaning the NVIDIA Driver Manager Preferences, or something else?

I actually tried that just now, doesn’t seem to have helped.

No.
Yes.
Yes.

Edit: scratch that. Reinstalling made an allow button show up in Security and Privacy, which I hit and restarted. Now I’m back to black screen.

Yes.

Can you check to make sure you have ALL of these listed extensions in System Information > Software > Extensions? If you do not see an NVDAGV100HalWeb version 10.33.0, there is an install issue. Believe this is a brand new extension added in this driver. All others should just be version updates.

You missed the edit: after reinstalling the driver and hitting allow I get a black screen and can’t even VNC in. No amount of restarting will clear it.

Sorry, did not see that edit.

I had a similar issue on my Mac Pro 5,1 during/after install. Forced shut down the machine (hold power button) after the screen went black and could not VNC or screen share in. Wait a minute or two. Power on machine. Open Security & Privacy as soon as you can and click ALLOW.

Yes, that's why I have a card with EFI. Without EFI I could not start in secure mode (no acceleration), what saved me this time.

What Boot ROM Version are you on?

Had no major issues with MP51.0085.B00 that required swapping the GTX 1080 FE (non-EFI) for the official Mac Version GTX 680 (only EFI card I have). Black screen and simple shutdown/restart "fixed" the issue.

Screen’s still black. Anything else I could try before I resort to a gourmet swap?
