And for the love of God, I hope they offer a full white Nexus. Really loath the "half" white Galaxy Nexus. Why in the world do they do that?

Seems the GS2 and GS3 can offer front white plates, why not the GN?

clean full black fronts are best! what's wrong with you? :p

Seriously, if it has to have a colour, it should be on the back (IMO).

I like the GS3 red, yet to see one infront of me, but personally I imagine that i'd like it to have a black front cause the red around the front might become annoying when using?....don't know. Hopefully will use one in soon to decide and see for myself.

I agree with this, I love Android but its annoying that for example, the GNex on Verizon STILL doesn't have Jelly Bean..
You can get Jelly Bean if you root it and flash a custom ROM. It sounds scary if you havent done it before but its safe, there are step by step instructions on the internet, and it only takes a few hours the first time. Im running Jelly Bean through cyanogenmod10 on my Galaxy S2 and it works great.

This series of tweets by "Black Man X", supposedly an insider at Verizon who has been right before, is currently making the rounds:

Those that maps lead them to bld44? Oh What do those googlers have in store?

Is it Moto sourced or LG's line.. and will Sammy lose another billion this time?

The Gnex was nice and the 7 's a beast.. but the Q admittedly was no strong feat..

The trick is to take all the lessons learned. Branch the tree and give several a turn. One for the Geek? One for the mom?

So who might these leaves be? a Japanese brand with plenty of play? a Korean that knows quite well the PDK?

Seriously I will finish the rest later. Or blog the whole thing.. this 140 character thing is killing me

And then he got these replies.

No idea how credible this guy is but he does bring up a ton of hits on Google

Galaxy Nexus:

Awful design and build quality
Awful camera
Awful screen

With such crap hardware, The Verge still gave it a 8.6, which is a tie with iPhone 4S. Because the software is so great... With pure Jelly Bean, it is even better.

If Google comes out with great hardware, this will be a killer device. But I doubt they will.

I actually love the design of the GN. The clean front is sleek and beautiful. I also like the mesh back plate. Build quality, I'm more in agreement. Not that it feels cheap, in my opinion, but it can certainly get better.

Camera... 100% agreement. It plain sucks.

I have no problems with the screen and frankly don't get the obsession with pixel counting and have no major qualms with pentile (bare in mind I came from a 4S, so I know the joys of "retina"). It just isn't that big of a deal for me. Things still look good. Having said that, again, just like build quality, I understand it can definitely be better. My one gripe with it is that it's utterly unusable in extreme sunlight.

I agree with the rest of your post, and have been saying now that JB is up to snuff, it's time Google insists on better build materials since having a premium feeling/looking device seems to be a major point of contention for a lot of people.

I'm hoping, if Samsung is elected again this year for the Nexus 2012, that the ATIV S is a sign of things to come:

That's what I'm saying. Galaxy Nexus is a great device, but with killer hardware, it could be the best... Of course, it's understandable that Samsung doesn't make it better than Galaxy S3.

I agree with the camera, but I personally like the GNex design over the GS3.

Ditto.

Plus the GN is easily the most comfortable device I've ever held. Every button is precisely where they need to be.

Yeah, I just bought my GS3 about a month ago.. I wanted a GN, but I found it hard to justify signing a 2 year contract on a phone that is already 1 year old. Plus the Gnex was $99, I got the GS3 for $147 and loaded CM10 on it.

Same here. I would be very sad if they abandoned the general (front) design of the GNex. It's simple, and just tad organic, with that rounded shape. The first time I saw it I felt that it looked very "Google" somehow. I think they have something to build on there.

The specs sound crazy, but 5" is a real turn off. Even I have my limits. But the source is not vetted, so I'm taking this rumor very seriously.

The interesting thing though is that this gives the whole "multiple Nexus" rumor a bit more validity.

I could see a full lineup from Google:

Nexus 7 - ASUS made 7" tablet.

Nexus 5 - HTC made 5" phablet

And then either a Optimus Nexus / Galaxy Nexus 2 / Xperia Nexus - A sub-5" smart phone, probably in the 4.6-4.8' range. Either one of these, or even all three.

Will be interesting times ahead...

To add, if you Google Galaxy Nexus Toolkit. Such a good little tool to flash a ROM and do all the driver work + plus the bootloader, etc, etc.

HTC is rumoured to have a 5 inch Nexus phone coming out this year with a 1080p screen. I have the S2 LTE and although I do really like it I want to be able to have the vanilla experience of Android PLUS get the OS updates as soon as they are released from Google.

Yeah, no way they're going for a 5" phone only.

But man will I be happy if that's one of them :p
