Agreed. It really should not be thicker and heavier. Now the thickness/weight will be in line with the Verizon GN. I'm so-so on the design, I prefer the GN design right now.

I might just pick up a Galaxy Nexus finally. Been holding out in hopes of a new Nexus, but undecided if I want to pick up the LG Nexus. Maybe HTC, Samsung, or Sony will have one out before year end.

Apparently the Sony Nexus was faked.

I'm particularly disappointed that the Nexus 4 is thicker than the GN. Not by much, but the fact that it's not thinner is disappointing too. I was really hoping for something as thin as the GS3.

And, I tell ya, I'm disliking that chrome outline more and more. In fact, I sort of loathe it...

For me it's actually the opposite, I like my phones to have a bit of chunkiness to them :) The GNex always felt a bit too thin for my taste, that comes partially from the poor materials though. Same with the GS3, it feels to thin but that wouldn't be so much the case if it was built with premium materials.

I'm with you on the chrome outline tho. At first I liked it, but the more I look at the pictures, the more irritated I get at that little "lip" it has going on at top and bottom. Also because it's more than likely just shiny plastic, not actual metal. Why do they keep insisting on making everything feel so cheap??

Honestly I've been getting more and more into the idea of buying an Optimus G instead... I actually think their UI looks quite slick compared to TouchWiz and Sense, and with vanilla Android we wouldn't get QuickMemo (which i absolutely love) and Q-slide.

Doesn't the Optimus G have the chrome outline on the carrier versions too?

Yeah but not as pronounced when looking from the front at least, also it's symmetrical and doesn't have that ugly lip. It doesn't bother me like it does on the Nexus 4.

Not sure how the global version will look though - I'm in Europe and won't be getting any of the US carrier versions. That whole deal is so weird btw, rolling out two physically different versions of the same phone to two different carriers

Ok, gotcha. And yea it's awful. It shows how much power the carriers have over LG unfortunately.

Its only half a MM thicker which is really nothing. It is heavier than the GS3 because it has glass on the back of it,...so ive read anyways and dont really like. I dont like that dots/bubble look on the back of it. Just looks like when a screen protector isnt on very well. Of course thats from pictures though. Im not really impressed much overall.

I hope this isnt the only Nexus phone coming out.

It most likely is.

The GN2 leaks became the Galaxy Premiere. The Xperia Nexus leaks were never real. The only concrete leak is the HTC Nexus 5, but even that has fallen off the face of the planet (or became the HTC J, or something).

It's looking like it's only LG.

I think that's a good move for the Nexus line, not necessarily the best for would-be Nexus owner or upgrader from GN.

I'm still a smidge jealous of the HTC One Series screens but they say the LG is only second because of its viewing angles. I don't think that's a big deal.

Other than that I have absolutely no problems with the Nexus, which is rare for a phone. I'll try to find some issues once I get it ;-)

Yeah, I never understood the appeal of viewing angles. I dislike when I'm using my phone and people near me can see what I'm doing.

What exactly is the benefit of view angles on a smartphone? I get it for a TV or monitor... but smartphone, that's often used in public, on buses and trains?

True. So I don't think it's a big deal.
