I'd be more tempted back to the 6+ and future iPhones if it wasn't so unwieldy. I one-hand the Note 4 most of the time but when I tried a friend's 6+ it was too wide and tall. Serious amount of empty space going on. Same with the 6: it feels like it should have a 5 inch display.

Ive really needs to double-down on those bezels and head/chin instead of slimming the depth any more.

Regardless, it doesn't matter what I think. Except Samsung should send me a Lollipop update... HK or CN ROM are both good.

Until they get rid of the home button those bezels will stay. Apple is all about that semetrical look, and they will not shrink the top bezel.

Aesthetically I think a narrow top bezel would look just fine, if not great. Between the huge bezels and awful white on off white iOS8 theme I just don't understand Apple's aesthetics. But then again beauty is in the eye of the beholder.

I'm not sure how the 6+ can feel too wide and unwieldy when it's slightly narrower and a bit thinner with curved edges than the Note 4. It's definitely taller and as mattopotamus pointed out, that likely won't be changing unless Apple adopts a differnt tech for the fingerprint reader (on screen directly would be awesome).

Too tall and maybe a bit slippery I'd believe but wider and more unwieldy compared to the Note 4 doesn't really hold water.

If my Note 4 gave me problems with switching SIM cards, I would've sold it for the iphone 6+. When will we in the US get Lollipop for the Note 4?

0.8 mm is much wider?!?
Not sure if serious or just trolling....

Width affects the way I hold my device more than height.

At any rate I don't think either device is that much bigger in any respect than the other.

But another thing to factor into the width is also the thickness. Width + thickness affect the surface area your hand must cover to grip the device. Add in the extra width and thickness of the Note 4 and it can be noticeable.

At the end of the day though, a phablet is a 2-handed device, plain and simple. You buy one, whatever OEM, you should know what to expect.

Lots of theoretically arguments, in fact I can feel nearly no difference by holding them...

But as you said in another thread

I absolutely love my 6+ - but I'm an Apple guy.

Yeah they're very close in terms of dimensions really. At least the dif isn't big enough that I'd pick one over the other because of it. A more significant difference IMO is that the 6+ feels a lot more fragile and is a lot more slippery. On the other hand, it also feels more luxurious.

I've had them both and yes, the Note 4 feels much wider than the plus. Go and try for yourself.

The iPhone 6 plus "feels" wider IMO. It's hard to grip, thin and very slippery and becomes very top heavy quickly when trying to handle one handed. The Note 4 while ever so slightly wider is VERY easy to grip and it's balanced better for one handed use IMO. Of course you also have to consider the Note 4's superior one handed UI. Lastly once you slap on the required case onto the iPhone it physically becomes much wider.

The note 4 is thicker and heavier though, also has sharp edges, cases don't suit on the note anyway as they can scratch the paint off the sides, Black version I have read, is it right the White versions edges are not painted?

Flogging this to death but, the 6+ is too slippy without a case and fatter with one. Yes, there are skins but there remains the lack of flexibility in iOS to freely place icons (ie. use the lower half of the screen only). Reachability feels last-minute and is un-Apple in that it adds steps to a process instead of simplifying things.

Whilst the Note isn't perfect, that it tapers to the band, which is about 5-6mm, makes it feel much thinner than the advertised depth - my natural grip means I only feel the sides given the gap between my hands and the back of the phone. The 6+ could arc to a thicker depth and it would still feel the same to me. Ergonomically, the 3G was the iPhone's high point.

Still, I doubt the big head and chin are disappearing soon. Nor the bezels, or free icon placement, or the ability to show useful information in the upper area instead of hiding it away in the (unreachable) top pull-down. iOS works on the 6 but is a flawed mismatch on the 6+ hardware so I'm hoping for big things in iOS9 as I'd like to pick up a 6S with 2GB RAM (for future proofing).

Tapering makes a big difference to me at least. Edges are firm and grippy but some may find the too aggressive. My paint (black) version is as new and, after trying cases for two months, which includes taking it off and recasting every other day to change batteries, there's no sign of case rub.

To each his own but I've concluded cases only make phones bigger, thicker, uglier, and more difficult to handle. So, I prefer something grippy.

I went and tried myself
There is not much of a difference in the size and weight of the 2 phones....

Having used both phones rather extensively, i have to say that the Note 4 feels much better in my hand. I agree with the statements that iPhone is really slippery and top heavy. Note is def wider physically but it just feels better to hold, especially for one handed and no case usage. All subjective of course, just my thoughts.

Got Lollipop on my Note 4 N910F on Friday, been playing around with it quite a bit, and so far I'm happy. Visually the update isn't that big, the font changed a bit, material design elements all over the UI and its snappier.

Tested battery life yesterday and it was excellent, the results when I went to bed were good considering that I did a whole lot of Whatsapp, Instagram, Facebook, web browsing (using Opera Mini and Chrome), and watched a few episodes of season 2 of 'The 100'.

Hey they are:

What do you usually get (e.g. on KK)?

If there's an increase on my standard 6-7 hours, mixed usage over WiFi and 4G, I'll be happy.

Just waiting for Samsung to spit the HK or Mainland 9100 ROM out.

I use my 6+ naked 70% of the time. A case is not required at all.

You're a brave man. No way in hell I'd risk that, that metal will get light scratches and scuffs just looking at it. When I had a 6+ I had a skinomi full body skin on it, not bad at all.

Nostradamus just called, he says he's been reading your impressions of the Note 4 on this forum a few days from now...;)

Seriously though holy crap I'd buy that sucker immediately at that price :p

So much for the 'intervention' brigade. ;)

Gave into temptation and bought it. Should be here by end of the coming week.

Curses to you all ....
