So much for the 'intervention' brigade. ;)

Gave into temptation and bought it. Should be here by end of the coming week.

Curses to you all ....

Hahah oh **** I need to be careful what I say  (not that it would have mattered lol)

Seriously though I don't think you'll regret it, I allllllmost pulled the trigger on one for €500 and I thought that was cheap already... But went for the €350 Note 3 instead (did you own that one at some stage btw?)

Yep I did have a Note 3 which I liked :) but that was so 2013 ;) (well 2013-2014) but yeah for €400 it's worth a shot especially as I won't lose anything if I sell it on in a month or twos time.

You're a brave man. No way in hell I'd risk that, that metal will get light scratches and scuffs just looking at it. When I had a 6+ I had a skinomi full body skin on it, not bad at all.

I don't have any scratches, but I suppose I'm relatively careful with my devices. Generally never set them down on a hard surface. I have a cleaning cloth at my desk at home and at work that my phones lay on.

I do the same (microfibre cloth wise), plus I barely have mine 8 weeks before I'm upgrading :p

Haha, yup. I'm not terribly concerned. The Apple logo is scratched on my 6+, but otherwise, the thing is pristine. Had it since launch day and will likely only have it for another 7 months or so.

On KK I used to get around 7 hours, maybe 8 on a very good day, but yeah, around 7 most of the time.

That's pretty good. Most I've ever had on a Galaxy phone is 4.5 hours (note 3). I could definitely live with 7 hours.

I can't yse mine without a case because I'm scared of getting scuffs. I've got phone OCD# I gave my boyfriend my old note 3 and the thing is looking appalling. All of the faux metal Bezel is scratched up and the screen protector (one I had installed) is all scratched up and bubbled. He uses it without a case. I've bought him various cases and he inherited my collection but he takes them off after a few days. It makes me cringe. He's like that with all his phones though. The back case of his old S3 was chipped and he had to have the screen replaced because he smashed it. He also smashed the screen on the iPhone 4 he had before that. I have to take out insurance on everything because it's likely to get broken with him around #

Haha I feel you, I have the same issue with my girlfriend. Her old 4S got so destroyed I couldn't believe it was still working (you could see straight into the parts inside through a big hole on the front). Then her beloved Z3 shattered after a week or two. When we play games on the metro and pass my 6+ back and forth, my whole body is tense each second she's playing her turn... I FINALLY got her to put a case on her repaired Z3...

My average is 4 to 5 hours screen time on note 4

Ok, just been offered a brand new sim free/unlocked Note 4 (white) for €400 !! Tempted, but thinking I should hold off for the M9. I swore I wasn't going to buy as many phones this year :D

New MRU review!! Awesome!! Maybe you should create a blog or YouTube review account :D:D

That price is just amazing. You won't lose anything when reselling.

I bought a Gear S watch to go with my phone tonight. I bought the T-Mobile version and added it to my plan, costs just $5 per month to use as a phone if needed.

It connects through Bluetooth to control my phone too. All my contacts show up and everything just syncs up so nicely with this. For some reason, T-Mobile only has the black model. I was hoping to get the white but I would have to go through AT&T and buy it through BestBuy. I hate AT&T.

I like that the time displays automatically when I look at the watch so I don't have to push the button.

I guess I'm completely sold on Android now and Samsung. :)

This is my first iPhone since I had the iPhone 4, I then went to the s4, htc one, note 3 and the nexus 5, then back to ios with the 6 plus.

To be honest I'm already bored of IOS right now, it seems like its same same wince I last had the iPhone 4, only prettier. By that I meant its simply a wall apps, even the widgets is half baked really and I dont like how they are hidden away. Widgets for me are basically there for a quick glance but in depth information.

I'm wanting the note 4 but I absolutely hate touchwizz. I loved pure android with the nexus 5, but the Hardware had too many down sides.

I really do wish Samsung just got rid of most of touch wiz, kept the design language of lollipop, and add the major , actually good features of the s pen and multitasking.

Is the new touch wiz due out soon? Is there a chance of this happening?

New touchwiz for S6 but not Note 4. Also as much as i really do want a new optimised Touchwiz; my cynical side is saying to me that I really suspect that the new Touchwiz is pretty much the same as the old Touchwiz - albeit with majority of Samsung's extra apps removed and made optional installs from Galaxy Store. This is already how the Galaxy Alpha unbranded version is sold as is.

Its a case of just wait and see. If my cynicism turns out to be accurate I'll be disappointed but at least small bit relieved that my new Note 4 won't feel software gimped, but if they do optimise touchwiz its going to be painful to watch subsequent devices including cheap budget models getting the new optimised software and the Note 4 languishing in old Touchwiz hell, forever feeling like the ugly big brother who's carrying a lot if extra weight.

So about the same as the note 3 then. However it does have a removable battery.
It's better than note 3 for me....got no more than 4 on the 3

Depends how you use it I guess..I have alot of widgets. .I have 2 other spare batteries

It's why I'm hoping Samsung sticks with removable

Fear not since the Note 4 will get the UI and software overhaul with Android M by Q4 2015. If you really want the new software, it will be on XDA much earlier. Who knows? Samsung might turn around and give it to us during the summer. It is cheaper to do things in one major swoop than smaller subsequent swoops. Those midrange phones get the update faster since it's using the latest android available.

Don't believe that will happen. Yes they eventually update the older devices and at this stage the Note 5 will be around the corner. But old phones tend to get updated to new version of Android - but not always the newer version of Touchwiz UI. Likewise given how long it is taking to roll out Lollipop - Android M won't be on Note 4 till at least Jan/Feb 2016 .....

Annual uprades act as an equalizer. It sucks that Samsung is bad at updates, but it really is easier to buy a new phone.

If I wanted long term support consistently I'd get an iPhone.

Q4 2015? Jeez, it will be time to buy the Note 5 by then.

Well, S4 and Note 3 have received the new TouchWiz UI with the Lollipop update, but I do agree that's not really common in Samsung.

Have you guys received Lollipop yet on the Note 4? The new UI is way better than before. Makes TouchWiz more bearable on my S5.

I really don't care if we get it. My Note 4 and Note Edge are working perfectly the way they are.

I upgraded a Nexus 4 and Nexus 7 to Lollipop and both have not been the same since. If I could easily go back to KitKat on those devices, I would.

I'm hoping touchwiz on lollipop will be nice. Vanilla lollipop is AWFUL in my opinion, just awful. Touchwiz with lollipop will probably be nice though. Mainly I'm looking forward to the unlock in friendly network feature of lollipop.
