I think I've worked out the source of my poor battery life. I think it's because of poor signal at home. My iPhone and previous samsung phones were all on O2. At home I get a good signal on O2, however my boyfriend has never been able to get a signal with three at home. My note is unlocked but I've got a three PAYG sim in there. I think I'll just put it into aeroplane mode while I'm at home but leave wifi on and that will stop it looking for a cellular signal and should reduce battery drain.

That's how my battery life used to be with AT&T. My phone would drain to 50% in 8 hours because AT&Ts signal was so bad at my house and still is today. Once I switched to T-Mobile, with that same phone back then which was a 4S, the battery would last nearly two days. People don't realize how bad reception can affect battery life.

Does your carrier allow Wifi calling?

It's my second line. I still have my iPhone with my contract sim in it from O2 which works fine at home.

However I've got TuGo installed on my note 4 which lets me make calls and send messages over wifi (and 3G) using my O2 number.

I also have the three in touch app installed which lets you make calls and send messages over wifi. So with aeroplane switched on but wifi enabled I wouldn't be missing out on anything.
Wow that TuGo app sounds awesome and very handy for multiple device owners :)

Yeah I can do wifi calling so I'm not too concerned. It's also unlocked so I can change carrier at anytime.

Strangely my cell signal at home with ATT is poor, only one bar usually. I have a microcell but stopped using it because it was weird with MMS and group messages. Funny thing is I never drop calls at home and my battery doesn't drain quickly. It must be a very strong one bar of reception.

Anyone else thinking of going back to KitKat. Ugh, I'm getting fed up with Lollipop. Besides the butt ugly white theme I'm starting to have other weird issues. Just today the phone kept dialing people inside my pocket, I have no idea why. I must have dialed 10 people, sometimes I caught someone's voice coming out of my pocket "hello... hello?". By the end of the night my phone is usually at 80% or so, but today it was down to 20% and very hot. Sometimes I can feel it almost burning me through my pocket and I'll reach inside and it's burning up for no reason at all.

I think the worst thing is that the absolute number one feature I was looking forward to doesn't work. The smartlock feature doesn't work with location at all, a Google search shows this is a very widespread issue. Why they didn't do a WiFi smartlock I'm not sure, maybe security.

Finally my GPS is horrendous. Last night on a 15 mile navigation to a client meeting it must have dropped 10+ times, sometimes for 1-2 minutes. Some days the GPS doesn't drop at all.

Are you using Google Maps?

The reason I ask is ....... for the last week my GPS as been seriously acting up. Google Maps is my favorite, so I never considered Google maps as the problem. Today I got fed up as GPS was going in and out again, and sluggish when it was locked. So I used HERE Maps and my GPS worked flawless. Same with Waze and MapQuest. I tried using Google Maps again and the GPS was basically acting up again. I'll be using HERE maps until an update of Google Maps fixes this problem.

I use Waze pretty much 100% of the time. I should try those other ones, but I'm pretty much stuck with waze until the end of time as it's amazing and could never see myself giving it up.

Should I sell my Note 4 for the Moto X 2014? It's on sale, but idk if it's worth it?

If you don't need the stylus, larger screen and touchwiz features like multi window then go for it, the moto x is a tremendous phone. I've definitely considered it several times, but need the Note 4 features.

I'm sorry you guys are having trouble with Lollipop.
I was coming here to see how people were doing with the upgrade before I upgraded. Oh well, I guess I'll just stay on KK. I have no issues and am pretty happy with it. However I did order the S6.

Wish 5.0 would hurry up already..
Given the issues I'd wait the game with KK. That being said it does appear that BOC3 is the firmware that will rollout fully. Thankfully it's not as bug ridden as previous version but it's still buggy overall compared to the stability of kk.

Running BOC3 now on 5.01 - pretty smooth, not missing 4.4.4 anymore

I get occasional stuttering with BT Audio from Google Play Music on BOC3 - it's not terrible but little annoying - and about 1 hour less screen on time compared to KK with it too.

Other than that it's much better than the DBT release :) Have you not come across any anomalies with it ?

I won't comment on screen-time yet as I'm in Karachi, Pakistan and the phone networks here have generally weak signal, so a lot of unnecessary battery consumption. I will be in Dubai after April 10 and will get a better estimate then.

Regarding music, I dont use Google play music so can't commment on that either. I use Poweramp and haven't had any stuttering or hitches in playback.

Another complaint, I can't pause or direct my music anymore on the lock screen because of lollipop's notifications. Hopefully this is individual to the music app I'm using and they update it.

Also my text messaging is very weird on lollipop. I don't get group messages anymore, at all. I also find text messages fail to send quite often with no reason, only when I'm on WiFi.

Anyone know if you use Odin to flash KK back on, can you do a dirty flash and keep all your settings and data? I know a dirty flash is not recommended, but it's just too much work to reload everything.

Google Play music allows for control of music playback while the device is locked. What app are you using?

Lollipop on Verizon Note 4

It is updating now. It had to install an update first. The rebooted and now installing Lollipop. Will post back thoughts when i have had a chance to use it.

EDIT: Lollipop 5.0.1 installed. Seems a little more responsive maybe. Better memory management with 1.8GB free ram. Notifications are nice and easy to swipe away.

So I take back what I said, I do notice battery issues. I used to get through a day with 60% left easily. Now I'm at 20ish%. Occasionally it gets hot and will run down very quickly, like in a couple of hours.

Mine is just the opposite. My battery seems better. I am at 68% and been off the charger since 6 with 2.5 SOT. I could go another day without charging. Got 5.01 on Friday.
