I'm quite happy with my Note 4 on BOC3 FW, but yeah will be great to get S6 UI, WRT the Note 5 I hope it has a MicroSD slot as I also plan on getting it end of this year.
BOC3 is a lot more stable than the German release prior alright. Still some issues with Google Play Music seemingly refreshing a lot but other apps not so much. Certainly not as good as KitKat still for memory management, but vastly superior to the German DBT BOB4 release :)

Lollipop on my AT&T Note 4 has messed up my GPS big time, which is killing my battery life.

More impressions coming soon.

My battery life has been pretty poor so far. I'm still on kit kat. I;m hoping it will settle down as the phone is still new and I'm still 'bedding it in'. So far I've only been getting about 2.5 hours on screen time and about 18 hours usage in total. Last night before I went to sleep around 10.30 pm I had 18 % charge left. I woke up at 6 am and by that time the battery had drained and turned itself off. My S5 and note 3 had better battery life than this. I will monitor it for a few days and see how it goes and do the usual app investigations otherwise I'll have to take it back for exchange.

Other than that I'm really enjoying the phone. It's nice to be using an android device again. The screen is amazing. I'm still getting used to the new multi tasking draw. I intially bought an S view case but I find it makes the phone bulky. I say this when I used an S view cover for my S4 and Note 3 and S5 lol So I ordered a crystal clear ultra hybrid case. It makes it a lot better to handle now.

I would factory reset and start afresh. That battery drain overnight is very off .

As crappy as the Note 4's GPS was on Kitkat, I also noticed a serious degradation of GPS with Lollipop. I'm not noticing a battery drain though.

My GPS was fine on KK, never an issue. Now...

Yesterday traffic was bad and I needed an alternate route, and was greeted by "GPS Signal Lost" every 4-5 minutes. Got so bad I just decided to us my BMW Nav, which is crap compared to Google Maps.

Really annoying and knowing Samsung/AT&T a fix probably won't be dropping anytime soon.

Because the GPS is constantly seeking and losing single, it's a battery drain, so I am forced to disable location services, which I never had to do prior.

I had that same issue with 6 (yes I said 6) Note 4's, except mine didn't drain battery too much. Constant GPS drops. I'm convinced the Note 4's just have crappy GPS antennas and don't perform well with anything that might block them, in my case it's a heat reflective windshield, or so I suspect. Something in lollipop may also be affecting the GPS for some reason.

Yes, I have a similar issue, my GPS works for the most part, but will lose signal easily. Lillipop had no effect on mine, working the same since kitkat.

I will monitor again today and if it's still poor I'll do a reset. Hate doing resets.

Last night it drained about 5 % over 5 hours.

Wish I had only 5%

Mine drops from 10-14% overnight.

That said I’am getting about 4 hours + screen time lately. I get alot of notifications during the night so that might be why.

I have alot of widgets so maybe I should get rid of some but I don’t want to have to do that. Spare battery means it isn’t a huge issue.

I remember when I had the Note 4 that it only dropped a percent or two overnight so something wrong somewhere folks.

I always put my smartphones on airplane mode when I retire for the night.

Mmm looks like I'm gonna have to try harder to justify that €499 spend.

The Note 4 will get the new Touchwiz UX as seen in the S6 with Android 5.1 in later part of Q2 2015

Well according to this story, there is no 5.1 even in the works. Ugh.
http://www.sammobile.com/2015/03/30...he-galaxy-note-4-or-any-other-samsung-device/

In my case Lollipop has degraded my--beforehand flawless--GPS and worse has caused my notification shade to become unresponsive: swipe down and.... nothing. I'm not sure what is triggering that but it is a real pain.

I'm tempted to go back to an iPhone this fall. When I could root I didn't care much about updates since there was always a custom rom that did it, and usually did it better. But with AT&T locking everything down, not to mention their own crapwhere, I'm starting to get disheartened with my Note 4. And I loved my Note 2.

Yep lollipop is still bug ridden. Even the newest European firmware version still has some issues and memory management performance is still noticeably worst than on KitKat.

Thankfully I'll be selling my Note 4 off as soon as the S6 Edge is released here. But I'm still hesitant to jump onto another Samsung device when they're update of their still current flagship phablet has been sooooo messy.

If you look at all of our complaints, being a tiny little cross section of owners, lots of things vary. For example, I've noticed my GPS is worse, but I don't notice battery life being worse at all. I notice a bit more lagginess on Lollipop, but overall memory management is about the same. Overall I'm ok with the update, my major gripe is the god-awful white theme.

Really the only reason I keep lollipop though is the Smart Lock feature, this is so incredibly useful IMO that I can't go back to not having it.

Thankfully I don't use the GPS much on mine, but whenever I have had to I haven't had any issues, maybe I don't use it enough to notice anything.

I don't get much time to use my Note 4 these days, so busy with work, I'm a technical account manager at a digital marketing agency and most of my clients are going through major restructures and launching new websites and then during weekends I'm out with friends or family, so time to truly enjoy and use my gadgets has been limited.

Going to use it heavily over this long Easter Weekend and see if I face many of the issues I am reading about, as I find many of them strange especially considering how recklessly I have used my Note 4, I barely ever close apps, Chrome, Opera Mini, Atlas Browser, Instagram, Facebook, Twitter, Inbox by Google (for personal use), GMail (work), S Planner, WhatsApp (Personal) and Hangouts (Work) are always going, this is because I will pick up my phone do something, then lock it and put it down and do this throughout the day, by the end of the day my task switcher looks quite scary, and interesting trail of what I did throughout the day, lol, the other day I saw a Google search of Zayn Malik (you ALL know who he is don't even pretend :p ) and was like WTF!? Then remembered we were talking about 1D at work and at some point I Googled WRT who left the group.

I hope they bring themes to the note 4. Some of the themes on the S6/S6 edge look nice.

I think I've worked out the source of my poor battery life. I think it's because of poor signal at home. My iPhone and previous samsung phones were all on O2. At home I get a good signal on O2, however my boyfriend has never been able to get a signal with three at home. My note is unlocked but I've got a three PAYG sim in there. I think I'll just put it into aeroplane mode while I'm at home but leave wifi on and that will stop it looking for a cellular signal and should reduce battery drain.

Do you not use your phone for cellular calls? I would fear I'd miss an important call leaving my phone on aeroplane mode for long periods.

It's my second line. I still have my iPhone with my contract sim in it from O2 which works fine at home.

However I've got TuGo installed on my note 4 which lets me make calls and send messages over wifi (and 3G) using my O2 number.

I also have the three in touch app installed which lets you make calls and send messages over wifi. So with aeroplane switched on but wifi enabled I wouldn't be missing out on anything.
