Looks pretty good.

Curious how long the battery life will be on this one. Sammy Notes generally are among the class-leading when it comes to that. The iPhone 6 (5.5 inch model) vs Note 4 should be a really good battle in the phablet space.

Wait... OneNote for Android supports the S Pen?? Is that true?

OMG. This plus my Surface Pro 3 and I'd be in heaven!

Yep, full handwriting support!! You have to get the beta though on the OneNote google+ webpage. Been using it for a couple of weeks and it works perfectly. Its bar none the best note app out there coupled with incredibly powerful desktop options.

Am I the only one who hates chrome bezel? Man they look cheap and gaudy. Otherwise it looks very nice. Instead of being stuck in 2002 like the iphone 6 is with its HUGE bezels its nice to see Samsung refine its bezel even more.

I am excited to see how the upcoming Motorola 5.9" Nexus 6 Phablet will compete with the Note 4 this Fall ?

Will be neat to see if Google has special AOSP apps and customizations for a Phablet, like the S-Note stuff Samsung puts on the Note series, but done in stock Android.

Right now my next phone is either;

- Note 4
- Motorola Nexus 6 Phablet

Like the form factor, no camera bump, and no USB cover flap. Not a big fan of yet another 'faux' texture--this looks like my exercise mat. Samsung, here's a novel concept--how about having your devices look like the materials they're made out of. Metal looks like metal, plastic like plastic, glass like glass.

Samsung cameras are always so ugly in design form.

The thin bezels look very nice though and overall, not a bad looking device. The back looks a little like that sandstone OnePlusOne back kind of.

very samsung'esque - and ultimately a little bland with a touch of retro 80's styling

Looks like it could be a proper chrome bezel though and looks very thin ..... the port on the bottom looks funny for USB 3 - hope it's not a propriety connector. At least the camera appears to be flush rather than sticking out though.

Actually more I look at it - the more I appreciate it .... and grow to like it.....

We are now truly in intervention mode. :D

Samsung has been sucking hard the last couple years with the U.S. Carriers .

I had the ATT Note 2 and that thing was an amazing beast of a phone, and even though it was an ATT version, it was totally unlocked, rootable, and custom Recovery easily put on, with tons of development on XDA for the ATT Note 2.

And that was the last of the good times with Samsung and U.S. carriers :(

Now since the Galaxy S4 and Note 3, and S5, Samsung has locked their phones down tight like a submarine, ZERO development, root taking forever to come out for brand new devices, not true custom Recovery and ROM's anymore  Look at the XDA threads for the ATT Note 3 and ATT S5, just a sad sight.

What happened to the good old Note 2 type days ? Unlocked and Recovery easily ?

Just don't think I can go back to a Sammy product, being on ATT.

The #1 reason I currently own the HTC One M8 from ATT, and not the Samsung Note 3 or S5, is because HTC openly allows unlocking the bootloader on their own HTC website :D

Right now I am running the GPE ROM on my One M8 and LOVE this phone, and thanks to HTC for allowing this to happen. I bought my One M8 for just $49, due to the 'Next" program on ATT.

Samsung hardware is great IMO, removable battery, sd card, quality camera, great screens, top notch specs, minimal bezels, what more could you ask for? (premium build quality? - I'd rather have the removable battery)

those leaks look good IMO

my beef is software and ATT/Verizon's chokehold over the devices. Sad reason to boycott an OEM that has so many other elements going for it :(

Tig Bitties your only choice is to buy tmobile samsung devices for use on ATT (or none at all)

The new Note looks nice and will be a great phone in so many respects, but until Samsung genuinely fix TouchWiz I can't be on board with them anymore.

You guys remember that picture of the curved display for the Note 4? It might be the Galaxy Note Edge, which Samsung recently filed for trademark. If it does come out, I'm going to try that out instead of the regular Note 4. Really liked the curved design but hopefully it's thin as the Note 4 leaked pictures.

Not really, looks just like the previous faux-leather look

Looks similar to the previous iteration though, I was hoping for something new

If it's a choice between metal or removable battery it's removable all day. One of my favourite loves of this phone.

I don't necessarily care if a device is metal all plastic, just that it's made well. In my experience, a phone with a removable panel never feels as rock solid as a device with fixed rear panel or unibody construction. The rear panel always has some amount of give and the device some degree of flex. And unless an OEM makes some drastic overcompensation, removable panel devices never will--same principles as apply to a convertible car and it's hardtop counterpart.

I can certainly appreciate one's preference for a removable battery, especially if you are a very heavy user or go long stretches away from the ability to charge. I personally don't have these problems (had an extra battery for my Note 2 and used it exactly zero times) so rock solid build trumps removable battery, especially on a device with arguably some of the best battery life found on phone.

I'm never far away from a charger either but I love the fact I don't need to charge my phone up at 30% before I go to bed or If it's at 15% at 3pm and I know I'm meeting my mate for a few hours I know I've got that spare in my pocket if I so need it.

To be quite honest I do like the back of my note 3 and if it has the same back on this years model I won't mind at all. Would a metal back be nice with removeable battery? yeah that would be great but I know if there was a choice I would never not want a phone without removeables now. Im just so used to having it now and having a spare or two just in case.

Yeah, a removable battery is vital. Sometimes, I'll go on a long bike ride and stop where's there's no power outlet. With an easy to carry spare, it's no problem. Also, I, too, like the faux leather back of the Note 3.

For me this phone is a must purchase. The Note 3 is still one of my favorite phones despite the fact I currently own or have owned most flagships in 2014. I am almost sad I have to replace my Note 3 with the Note 4, but this phone is looking good!

Thanks for the tip. Just signed up for and installed the beta on my aging Note 8. Works great!

This is making the Note 4 very, very tempting. Love OneNote 2013 on my Surface Pro 3. Being able to draw with the S Pen in OneNote would be amazing.

Gadget heaven.

You do know Samsung sells developer unlocked phones of the gs4 and gs5 right and also google editions of the phones that run pure android with no touchwize.

It should GWOS that it will have top of the line specs... the real deciding factor should be the build quality and how bad touchwiz will be in it. I still think it's god awful on the S5. Samsung really needs to tone it back if they want to stop loosing customers at the rate they are.
