If the note 4 had android l at launch it would have made a lot more compelling argument for me over the 6+.

I haven't personally got to play with the note 4 but the software still (aesthetically) looked rough around the edges to me. I know this is a shallow reason to switch back but after a year of looking at the atrocious menus on the note 3 it was time to go home.

I am very curious to see how they implement android l and material design. If they get their software looking good I will probably snag a note 5 in a year's time.
What would the note 4 gain from Android L? By the way I'm not arguing I'm genuinely interested. Hopefully it will be a bigger update than kitkat which hasn't seemed to make much of a difference to my note 3.

Was checking out the settings of my new N4 there is this this floating panel with the home back and recent buttons. You can have it auto hide too. Great for one handed use.

Impressive. It beats the iPhone 6+ by quite a huge margin. Anyone know what's the battery capacity of the 6+?

Quite a bit less

Note will always have a better battery than iPhone I would imagine. Removable batteries make it even stronger of an option.

Fuhhhhhh.

The note 4 is really intriguing me.

I have a 6 plus and love it, but this phone is the first time i really am interested in a galaxy phone.

I have had an iphone every year since they came out though, and am a little worried what the change might be like. I tried the LG G2 a couple years ago, and decided to return it because of the crappy software and the ****** way android handled things like group texts (although I know kitkat fixed this).

I think I am going to go check this out in best buy tomorrow, anyone got any thoughts on someone switching from being exclusively an iphone user since launch?

Any thoughts?

If they let me stay overnight at BB then I could test the battery though if I am there all day beforehand that would probably do it as well. :)

Story from Macy's. A guy wanted to buy a mattress, he did not want to pay an exchange fee if he did not like it. He fell asleep on it for four hours and they finally called security.

So around twice the battery life of my Nexus 5. Nice..

Do you have a photo? When I played with a demo unit, I saw a feature where you swipe in from the side edges to bring up home and back buttons but I didn't see a recent button.

Why was their test so much better than what I have seen from other reviews? Believe me, I would love it if true, but there are other reviews that have shown that battery life is about the same as with the Note 3. Which isn't terrible, but not what I was hoping for.

Note that some of those reviews are of the exynos version. Although it hasn't been confirmed, the Snapdragon version seems to have better battery life. The phone arena review is of the 805 version and they got 8 hrs and 43 mins, second only to the Sony Z3

But the exenos is supposed to be more battery efficient no?

Just got my Note 4 charcoal black. I am quite impressed with. For the first time on a samsung phone the cold metal feel. It definitely feels more solid than my Note3. But the top chamfer edges is kinda of sharp. The back feels more leather-like.

Speed-wise I dont detect that much difference to Note 3. Maybe a bit snappier or maybe placebo effect. But one thing for sure, the camera is much more responsive.

I'll give a comparison to Note 3 later (for those who were thinking of upgrading from Note3)

Would definitely appreciate any feedback on the Note 3/4 comparisons

Just a quick check on my new note4 ...1 Hr 57 minutes screen time dropped 24%. Phone been on for about 4 hrs.

Hopefully the people that complain the 2K screen is a waste of battery, will finally zip it.
Just like I've been saying for a while now, this review and all other reviews have concluded the same, there is nothing that truly compares. It's the ultimate device.

Besides for touchwize and the poor graphical performance?

Don't get me wrong....I love the note series and what it could be. Unfortunately...touchwize is bloated, and the high resolution screens outpace the gpu.

Interested in what andantech says.

Good thorough review. I hope to see more like this over the next day or so. The benchmarks are good, but the stinking 6 plus beats it in most....Hum... I wish I could decide which one I will go with.

I wish someone would do a true camera comparison between the 6 plus and Note 4. That I would be really interested in.

"Turning to image quality, it's fair to say that you can expect excellent results from both phones during the day. In fact, it's really hard to put either in the lead as they're so close in terms of reproducing the overall composition in front of them with all its caveats. But caveats they have. Indeed, while both phones offer dynamic scenes, they boost colors slightly – the iPhone 6 Plus churns out snaps that are slightly warmer than in reality, while the Note 4 does the opposite, and captures scenes that are a bit colder than ideal. That said, both deviate from reality so slightly that it's actually a question of taste more than anything else. Thankfully, noise is also essentially negligible with both. The only area of no contest is details – the Note 4's larger photos offer visibly more fine information if you zoom in to 100%.

Indoors, the two devices again offer great results, but we found that the iPhone 6 Plus produces slightly brighter shots. On the other hand, however, color reproduction, while excellent on the whole, is a bit lacking in comparison with the Note 4, as hues look a bit faded and washed out when put next to shots from the Samsung phablet. Again, do keep in mind that we're talking about very small deviations and inadequacies here.

So cameras are practically equal.

Who zooms 100%?

Means it takes more detailed photos. It's a good thing if you crop your photos.

Touché

Overall I doubt it will make a huge difference. It will be pretty equal in the long run. Iphone takes better low light, note take more detailed picture.
