Wow that is a quite comprehensive run through of the features, awesome! This strengthens my urge to get this phone for sure. TW looked very snappy I have to say, and with a higher percentage of actually useful features than before. I loved the sorting functions for the app drawer, and the option to have apps activated from another app show up in a pop up window. I'm really loving the new scrapbook functions for the S Pen too, I love how it saves metadata for pictures so you can visit the originating site later! This phone looks truly impressive.

I had dinner last night in an outdoor area of a restaurant that was very low lit. I took some pics with my Note3 without flash that were just bad. I boosted the iso all the way, and that didn't seem to help. Someone at the table had an iPhone 6 and took the same photo I had attempted with no flash, and it was like night and day (pun intended). I couldn't believe how much better the lighting and detail in the iPhone photo was. I have a Note4 preordered, and I really hope the camera comes close to the iPhone in low light performance....

The iPhone 6/6+ camera performance is on a different level than the Note series. Let alone the lag it takes from pressing to snap the camera key to it actually taking the picture is maddening at times.

But at least you can have multi window a pen to write things! :D

This is why I keep saying I have that concern for the Note 4. I know how badly my Note 3 was in low light. The 6 plus handles these situatiins a whole lot better. I have seen some reviews of the Note 4 camera, but have yet to see anyone talk about how it behaves in taking the pictures. Like how long to focus and snap the shot etc. . That is what matters to me. .

Do you have experience with the note 4 camera?

Yes as I took a lot of pictures with it.

Granted it was in store but I have seen a lot of "vs" type comparisons and the iPhone bests it in almost every shot I have seen, especially low light.

Fair enough, luckily I only really take photos in good light so shouldn't be too much of a concern

I honestly am not knocking the Note 4 as I think it is going to be an amazing device like the Note 3 was. BUT I have never been a big fan of the Samsung line of cameras as the color accuracy just seems way off to me and the lag from camera press to actual snapping of the photo was one of the most frustrating experiences in dealing with picture taking on a device ever had been.

Even the OPO I had for a while was much faster and more accurate IMO.

The iPhone 6+ camera is the best camera I have used on a device thus far and part of it for me is the speed of the photo and the color accuracy as well as the very solid low light performance with the OIS.

In the video review by DetroitBorg linked to a few posts up you can see a bit how the camera behaves in real life use (maybe 3/4 into the video or so). I think it looks very quick to focus etc., and the results are supposedly very good. The HDR mode in mid level to good lighting seems quite stunning.

I've always had the best smartphone camera experiences with iPhones myself. Last night I actually got to test a 6 Plus in low light and it did extremely well. Realistically, I'm not hoping that the Note 4 camera will be quite at that level, at least not for low light shots. But I'm counting on it being at least acceptable, i.e. perhaps not 'excellent' but at least 'very good', by the flagship standards of right now. That will still make the Note 4 a worthwhile purchase for me as it has other qualities that make it an overall more attractive phone to me than the 6 Plus.

The reports of how good the iPhone camera is is a possible reason for me to leave Android. While I like my (M7) the camera on it totally blows.

I'm not bothered about low light performance. Most of the pics I take are outside in good lighting and I get stunning pics in those settings. If I had a child I'd be more concerned about low light pictures.

This is one of the top reasons why I am trying out the 6 plus right now. . I have the Note 4 on preorder at Best Buy too, just in case, but so far I am really impressed with how much better the pictures are from the iphone camera compared to my Note 3. Focus, even in lower light is so much faster and I can snap away at super high speeds. outdoor shots are amazing and color accuracu is much better than with my Note 3 as well.

It really is too bad the iPhone doesn't have OIS when it really counts, during video recording. The front facing camera is also lacking for video calls. That being said, I find most reviews have said both cameras are excellent. And considering that, I'll take the one with more megapixels and OIS for video recording. Then there's 4K recording and that 2K screen with incredible battery life. MERCY! But your right, the iPhone 6+ has a great camera too.

After two days of operating my note 4 with note3 (both with the same software setup) here are some observations

Battery life is about 15 to 20 percent better on note 4.

Some apps opened a bit slower or equal to note3. Strange given the faster processors of note4.

Using both side by side i feel the note4 screen is sharper. White is more white on the note4.

You can now use Spen to select text by dragging like using a mouse. Works in all the apps.

Side panel with options of back, home, recent, app drawer and shrunk screen buttons. It auto hides. Very neat and great for one handed use. Last time you need root to have similar app.

Lock screen widget and shortcuts are gone in note4. What a pity.

Lock screen now can show the pedometer step count.

Speakerphone is more bassy on note4. Seems not as clear as note3.

8gb of disk is taken up by system files leaving 24gb about the same as note3.

Camera starts up faster and shot to shot is slightly faster on note4. You can now tap the heart rate sensor to snap picture. Great for selfie.

Other than above, I can't tell other major differences between the note3/4 from software side. Note4 built quality seems more premium but the sharper edges may not be liked by some.

Not active during video recording apparently

I know that there was that one video review by Erica where she was saying she could not tell if it was active or not, but I have taken video with mine and seen a lot of other videos and reviews that wouod suggest otherwise. It wouldnt make sense to try to actively "shut off" optical image stabilization. It is an active physical element in the lense housing. Not software.

I tried the Note4 camera in Best Buy and the pics were definitely more in focus than the ones from my Note3, though there is only so much I could test with it tethered to the kiosk and with the Best Buy store lighting.

When describing the camera specs on Apple's site, Apple mentions OIS for the 6 Plus but not the 6 for still pictures. But when it comes to the video recording both the 6 and 6 Plus are labeled as having cinematic video stabilization. So no OIS for video. No clue why this is, but big mistake on Apple's part.

That was the best review yet, he went through a lot of features. I didn't even know about the side key panel.

Just got a chance to watch the whole video and I'm impressed. The side key panel might be my favorite feature. Makes using the phone one handed more manageable at certain times.

Think I'll watch the video again later, its that good..

It was great but very fast paced so I'll have to watch it again to take it all in!

Yes, I saw that. Not sure it means anything. Again, IF it is being turned off, I guarantee you there is a good reason for it, and the videos I have taken, both slow motion and regular, are very steady and well focused, so I don't think any mistake was made here at all.

I mean the lense element is there. The only possible reason Apple would turn it off with videos is because it could make them worse somehow than what they can achieve with their other processing. Just my two cents.

He really is awesome
