MKBHD and DetroitBorg are tops in the game.

They are like presents in my inbox when they post a new video and I am notified.

The screen on my Z ultra has just cracked rendering my phone useless. Im therefore forced to buy a new phone. The Note 4 is the obvious choice except I am still undecided. If only the design wasnt ugly, the back cover made of cheap plastic, the back button on the wrong side (why did Samsung do this) and of course laggy touch wiz.

I have money, no phone, want a large screen and want Android yet I cant even buy this phone.

This Note 4 is also basically half the price of a 6 plus on contract in the uk yet I still am unlikely to buy it. No wonder why Samsung profits are falling if they cant even tempt customers like me.

Sorry, but the Back button is on the correct side. It's the other phone(s) that have it on the wrong side

Android is Google. Google/Nexus devices therefore have it on the correct side. Why the hell did Samsung decide to change it when every other Android phone has it on the Google side. Little things like this as well as rubbish designers, blatant Apple copying (chamfered edges... really?) annoy me about Samsung.

I always find it surprising that people prefer it on the left. I wonder what their reasoning is, simply that "going back" is more connected with the left as a direction?

To me it's much more natural on the right, where the thumb has to reach a much shorter distance (unless you're a leftie), important especially when using a phone one handed. And the back button has to be the much more often used than the app switcher button.

Note: I'm not criticising anyone's choice, just genuinely interested to know the reasoning behind the preference for having the button on the left side.

EDIT: sorry, I misread your post and thought you preferred the back button on the left but that was actually the guy you quoted! I have edited my post accordingly.

After using the Note and Nexus each for a year, I noticed each phones back button made sense with it's location.

With the Nexus, I used it more one handed so reaching for the back button on the left is easier.

On the Note, I mainly use it two handed (or with the s pen) so hitting the back button on the right side is more convenient.

With the Note 4 now having slide in gestures similar to pie control for home, back, and recent apps. That back button on the right side has become less of an issue for one handed use.

Not sure if I'd call it cheap plastic back. Seems to be more of a very nicely textured plastic that's extremely well thought out for durability and functionality. Great grip and swappable battery. Thank goodness they got rid of that horrible fake stitching. That makes a world of difference for me. Now it's like the same texture you see on the grips of DSLRs. Besides if you don't like it, you can swap it or for a metal back and still come under the price of the 6+ with only 16GB.

Indeed that is a very old statement

Back button needs to be on the right side. And really based on reviews there is no lag. Hell they has been no lag on the note 3 nevermind Note 4.

I think if you are using phone two-handed, it doesnt make any difference if back button is on left or right. But if are using one-handed (and right-handed), it must be on the right esp. with phablet as there will be difficulty in reaching the left side.

That's why Samsung got it right (and the others got it wrong). Back button on the right caters to both one as well as two-handed use.

is there any improved battery in the note 4 vs note 3 ? it almost the same capacity but the note 4 has fast charge installed, but what i mean is i got a note 3 now and i think the battery drain is huge sometimes , i want better battery but i am not sure the note 4 will put up with that , has there been som test yet out there somewhere? i mean the phone has a stronger graphic and stronger cpu and higher resolution and the same battery capacity , does that drain the battery faster or has it improved ?

From the reviews, it has improved about 15%-20% over the Note 3

This question has always interested me so I made a poll about this:

In addition to what others have said about the initial assessment of the battery life being better than the Note 3, it looks like the battery life just got even better. Sammobile is reporting a small update for all the Note 4s. And they're reporting significant battery improvement.

It just got even better. See above link.

My Note 4 is "Out for Delivery" on UPS, I'll have it today :D. Thank you T-mobile lol.

I tried the Note 4 at Best Buy on Saturday, night and day difference between it and my Galaxy S4. Had to bring the brightness down, on the Note 4, to about 60% to match the full brightness of my S4..... Beautiful screen and the QHD display was notcieable. Glad to have that higher resolution on a phone. When I ran Antutu on it, the gaming portion on the end looked noticeable softer than the rest and the rest of the UI. I assume that game benchmark is only 1080p? Definitely didn't look like it was a 1440p video. Text were much sharper, even at a far viewing distance when compared to my GS4. Hard to deny that the 1080p S4 wasn't as sharp as the 1440p display of the Note 4.

Heck of an upgrade for me on many levels. Also, when I began using the Note 4 at the store, it stopped charching. I used it at full brightness and it took the phone 43 minutes of on screen time to drop from 100% battery to 90%. No cell service on that model phone, but it looks promising to me.

Do post back and lets us know your thoughts! :)

BB probably wishes they could have filled my preorder by now. :)

That YouTube video linked from Detroitborg is outstanding. I ran it alongside another Note 4 on display at BB while trying bits and pieces of the video.

I have not been escorted out of BB, at least not yet.

I like to start a poll since MRU called so and so a you know what. When do you think he will have a Note 4? :)

Looks like a firmware update already. Not sure how we can notice a difference unless we do not do the upgrade right off the bat.

Apparently there's some battery improvements which are always welcome!

Had a problem with my preorder at tmobile today. Went to preorder and initiate the trade in for the $200 Samsung promotion. Online, Tmobiles website said my trade in estimate was $11. In store, tmobile says it's worth $9. (Trade in value must be at least $10 for the promotion)

I asked why the difference and rep said that the online price is just an "estimate" but once you enter in the phones IMEI to complete the trade in, it'll give you the final value.

I ended up just canceling the preorder at the store.

I tried doing it online myself but I can't initiate the trade in until my preorder is finalized in which case I don't want to be stuck with the order if the final trade in value does come out to $9 instead of $11.
