Thank you!

I lost my HTC One M8 last week. I was sad. Luckily I had everything encrypted and I had the Lockout app to erase everything. Well this weekend someone returned my phone, but I guess Lockout kind of messed the phone up. Now it's asking for some kind of password and it's not the one I used to set up the phone or the Lockout passcode. So I'm at a loss.

Since I carry two phones, and instead of buying another iPhone 6, I just picked up the Galaxy Note 4. I have to say it's quite a nice phone to use. I see the appeal of the stylus some of my friends like to brag about. It makes me so nostalgic like my old Windows pre-7 days.

Anyways everything feels right at home and all my stuff restored from the HTC One to this new phone. I popped the old memory card in, formatted [and set up encryption]; everything is fine and dandy.

This is my first phablet, so does any recommend I get a second battery or will I be fine with one?

Can't help you I'm afraid, but congrats on your purchase!

I would

You never know when you might need one. It also means you don't need to charge your phone every night. You can go bed with 30% have no fear about the next day

So I got really drunk last night. Let's just say I got on a party bus and had no clue who anyone on it was except for my friend and we drove 30 miles on it

Completelt dropped my note 4 and I'm happy to report there's almost no damage. I'm really impressed. Just a few scuffs on the edge

Exactly, would be interesting to see exactly how many hours of screen time the iPhone 6+ gets compared to the Note 4.

How is everyone enjoying their new Note? Still waiting for mine =(

We will see in a few weeks if I still can't take my hands and eyes off of it. :)

Did not install ART and have not gone to Nova yet either. Guess I do not feel the need to really at this point at least.

I do not see myself purchasing another smartphone this year. I want to try the Z3 but the Note 4 is just too impressive at this point.

I wouldn't recommend installing ART - tried it for a few days and got annoyed that every time I rebooted it took ages 'optimising apps'. Also took about 800mb extra in storage space. YMMV of course and I'm no developer or particularly tech savvy but I didn't notice any real difference in performance either.

Damnit I just restarted my phone after reading this and there it was. I don't know ifi could deal with that.

I'm just going to wait for Android 5. I ran ART on another smartphone, forgot which one to tell the truth that is how bad it has gotten with what I've tried this year.

I do recall however running it didn't make a difference from my perspective and it eats up space so that is the main reason for me to hold off.

So far I'm extremely happy with mine. Reception is much more solid, it doesn't bounce around like my N3 did in some spots like deep inside my gym. Bluetooth reception though is worse than the N3, it has a somewhat shorter range before it cuts out.

Even though I am new by posting on here for the first time, I've been viewing posts for years ;).

Anyways my iPhone 6 Plus is coming in the mail in 3 days after a long 4-5 week wait, and during that time I lost that "I can't to have it" now my mind is tingling with the idea of getting a Note 4 or Nexus 6. I feel like I am in between of loving Apple and Android. I've tried android before and loved it, just my music is linked to iTunes, and so are a few apps but I have an iPad.

Anyone else going through the same thought process as I am?

Anyone have an issue with using a Note 3 charging cable? I had my Note 3 charging cable in my car, and just noticed it won't charge my Note 4. I know the Note 3 needed the higher power cable, but I didn't think it changed to something different. I did check and the cable works fine and charges other stuff.

What's odd is that I needed to charge, so I plugged in a very cheap thin cable that came with a cheapie Bluetooth headset and that did work.

I did.... Kept the 6 plus for over 3 weeks.... Returned it (some magical way i got apple to extend the return period. Wouldn't bet on it again though.) Got a note 4...i am enthralled by it. I don't miss a single thing from the six plus. Missed I message for about 10 minutes, then I got over it.

How is it going without iCloud, iTunes, and the Apple Eco system? Was converting easy?

Does anyone else have issues with their fingerprint reader not working. I have to set a six character password and it's quite annoying everytime. I have encryption on, but I could use a PIN on my HTC One when I had that!

I would

Okay, I'll look into this. Hopefully they make a battery charger too.
I have one for my Galaxy S4. Quite handy.

I have a battery kit with a spare that comes with it.

They are available

No issues with fingerprint scanner here. Works quite well.

You definitely should take appropriate time to play with your 6+ and go to a store so as to do the same with Note4 and possibly Nexus 6.

I'm disappointed in the finger print sensor so far.
