Has anyone got any experience of using an android wear watch with the note 4 with fingerprint sensor enabled?
I'm using the LG watch and when I try to use the watch to navigate somewhere, the process starts on the watch ok, then the phone screen lights up and goes to maps, but then it reverts to the lockscreen. However, if I don't have the fingerprint sensor enabled and just use swipe mode, it works fine. Any suggestions?

Its too late now...but how do you get that? The screen shows not charging and it resets after it is charged. So you are saying I doctored those results?

The stats only reset once it has been recharged up to something like 90%. There is clearly a large spike on the battery graph indicating it was recharged for a bit.

Anyone have any thoughts on using Snote vs. Evernote vs. OneNote to make handwritten notes?

Thanks.

NO comparison, OneNote is the clear winner. It syncs across all your devices, is extremely powerful, you can annotate with all kinds of stuff like pictures, recorded audio, links, etc. You can search handwritten text (at least on PC, but you can search your uploaded phone notes). There is probably much more I can't recall off the top of my head.

Is there any reason to use the built in SNote application then? Does it do anything that OneNote does not?

Thanks!

I'm clueless about Onenote, but my setup is .......

Whenever I do a quick Action Memo from the S-Pen Air Command, it automatically saves into my Evernote Account.

When I use S-Note app it also automatically saves into my Evernote account.

Note 4 users also get Evernote premium for one year free.

I use the Action Memo when I got to make a quick note, and use S-Note when for more options(I love the fountain pen).

I use OneNote as I use the desktop app and prefer it to Evernote with it fitting in with Office365 better, where I spend a lot of my day. I also like how you can take notes, scribble, etc, anywhere on a page on the desktop app, as well as the organisational options when you have tons of notes.

As for the SPen, yep it works great on Android OneNote - another reason why the Note 4 sold itself!

Evernote integration is a definite plus for SNote as a means of easily syncing/accessing on other platforms and devices akin to OneNote. Both options do a solid job and provide a way of getting notes out of the device.

IMO no there is no reason at all for Snote to exist. I used to use it a lot before OneNote got revamped so I'm very familiar with it. OneNote even has an awesome widget that is a mini list of your most recent notes, you can just tap on whichever note you want to open, or tap on the camera icon to put a picture into a note, etc.

Also make sure you get an app called Spen launcher, it lets you configure which app opens when you remove the stylus, pretty awesome.

That is a little extreme. I use S Note for popup note taking, such as writing down a phone number that someone leaves in a voicemail message (grrrrr.... "can you give Jen a call at 555-555..."). I then can minimize it to open the phone app, referring to the note as needed.

I also like how it is integrated with Evernote, which I have used for several years.

I keep a lot of stuff in Evernote so switching now would be a chore. I use it for notes and lists but also web clipping is big for me. I use Evernote Clearly in Chrome to simplify pages for saving (recipes, etc.).

On my Note 4 I found I don't need an add-on anymore. Sharing to Evernote from Chrome saves a simplified web page. Before it simply saved the URL so I used a 3rd party helper.

Can you you trigger a note by removing the pen in OneNote?

Not extreme for me, I find no use in it whatsoever after getting OneNote. I'm just putting up my personal use, others may still need it such as yourself and I don't want to speak universally of course. I need my notes to sync between all my devices, I need to be able to annotate using pictures and audio, I need the notes to be searchable, etc.

Yes you can trigger a OneNote note by removing the pen, you need an app called Spen launcher.

Unless I am crazy, Evernote does all that too.

Just trying find out what is it about OneNote that is really great. I tried it today and was just not thrilled with its interface--though I obviously didn't give it much time.

Just trying to see if I am missing something.

I didn't think Evermore even had handwriting recognition ? Or searchable text? OneNote will recognize your handwriting so you can search it, or manipulate it otherwise. It's awesome on Android but you really don't get into its incredible power until you manipulate your notes on a PC.

I think if you are just making little reminder notes and such then S note is just fine. But for a power user there is no comparison. Evermote I'm not familiar with, I've used it in the past and hated the interface but I can't say I gave it much of a chance.

I don't really take many handwritten notes on my Note 4. I would probably take more if I had a Galaxy Note with a larger screen. But I don't seem to fit much on my Note 4's "little" lol screen.

Ergo I don't use much of the handwriting features in Evernote. I know the app is big on making notes from physical handwritten notes, such as post-it notes or Moleskin notes. I would assume it allows conversion to text--but again I don't use handwritten notes that much.

In actuality I type faster than even the quick notes I take with the S Pen. But for me the act of writing helps remember the task at hand.

Evernote has grown quite a bit over the last few years. Some might say too much. But I'm comfortable with it. I would say over half of my usage is saving simplified web pages. I rarely use bookmarks for pages I really want to keep since there is no guarantee that the link will be there in a year or two. Evernote can work just fine in a browser on a mac or pc but of course has dedicated apps for both--where you can do much more.

In your case you clearly use handwritten notes extensively, so I can see how onenote works best.

Gave onenote a try but couldn't get on with it compared to the normal S note so will stick with that.

is it possible to import a PDF into s-note and hand-write in it? I didn't see it as an option...I have to rely on Papyrus and using the two-week trial to import and hand-write in PDF files.

Is there a google play edition planned for the Note4?

No and there never will be. The feature that makes the Note - the Note - is the S-Pen. It is how Samsung defines it - heck even the name 'note'..... For that reason - a Stock Google Play Edition would undermine the whole point of a Note and it's prime differentiating hardware features.

One very powerful feature for me is the ability to take a very quick note by simply double tapping on the screen, even while locked, and bring up a post-it style note to quickly scribble on. These can be later discarded or saved as needed, and the OCR does a great job even on pretty ******* handwriting.

Edit: sorry just realized Mike was talking about One note. The feature I mentioned is of S Note.

You can do that with OneNote and Spen launcher. I have mine set so if I remove my stylus it goes right into OneNote even if the screen is off.
