Mine has improved dramatically.

100%-94% 11 pm to 7:20 am.

So far the cell stand by station is fine since the T-Mobile update.

Have to visit some other forms today to see if anyone else noticed the same thing.

That with everything turned on, including location history.

Yeah just same package disabler trick some of us used for S6/Edge. Tbh I'm happy enough with the few apps I've manually disabled and the ram management isn't plaguing me like before so I'm happy to not bother with PD on it. Often PD can cause more headaches than it solves in my time using it.

Standby time at night normally doesn't bother me as I usually leave my devices on charge overnight it was only because I didn't last night that I noticed the drop of 15%

Please hit me up in PM. Thank you!

3% overnight drop last night, same as the night before for me over the course of 8 hours. Mine is always in airplane mode overnight. No apps were ever disabled on the device.

On my S6 edge(not plus) I loose 0.4% per hour overnight in normal mode. In the same 9-10 hour night on my iPhone 6 I loose around 2%

I thought everyone charges their phone overnight every night.

IMO, it's good practice to let the battery take its course. I usually let it drop to about 15% before plugging it in. Once it hits 100%, I unplug it; I don't like leaving it plugged in the more than it needs to be.

So since the T-Mobile update:

The battery reading a drain from cell stand by has disappeared for voice of lte. It is still present on WiFi calling (which I use on the basement of a research building, with airplane mode engaged). I have the phone set to use cell over WiFi if available...so the bug only shows up while I'm in the lab using WiFi calling solely.

That being said, even though Android reads it as a massive battery drain.... I'm not sure it is. I think it may just be a bug in the reading alone? Here is why I think this; my battery as dropped two percent since I enabled it, and I have been using the phone. Yet, it reads at 15% battery drain. I don't believe it, and can't see a difference in drain rate.

Well, that could mean it's 15% of the 2% drained.

Replying to this thread using the note 5 stylus to write my post without checking it to see how it handles my messy left handed squiggle. Surprisingly well actually. Text recognition has really improved over the Note 3 and 4.

Question for those with the Note 5 and have also used a Nexus or other near-stock device, as well s the S6 or S6E:

Are the micro lags, occasional stutters and refreshes still there on the Note 5? This is compared to stock/near stock phones.

I'm asking as I need to start taking a lot of ad-hoc brief notes, for which the Note 5 off-state would seem a great solution instead of tapping away or, worse, using open and paper.

My recently sold S6 started off smooth as silk but did then start to hiccup and refresh every so often. It wasn't that noticeable until I used near stock again having had the Note 4 and 2 before the S6.

Genuinely not trying to incite a war here... Just want some feedback from real users since it's been a few weeks since release.

Used the Nexus 6 for a couple of months. Don't see any lags on my Note5. I did notice a lag on my keyboard recently but I do have the space theme applied. The only difference I notice between the two phones is the app refresh on the Note5. Not a major deal for me.

Quick questions. Regarding the photo below, will the wrap covering the glass part of the camers lens affect photo quality?

Thanks.

Generally there are few stutters or traces of lag in the new Touchwiz. There are exceptions such as if you use the 'Briefing' screen on the left homescreen. It always has some stutter when going back. Likewise as other said occasionally there can be a little bit of keyboard lag though it hasn't impacted my typing.

Other than those the old lag of Touchwiz especially the recents menu has been mostly eliminated.

Stock android isn't immune to stutters. Even my stock devices have a stutter whenever you go into recents and then swipe away the open apps fast, it sometimes will stutter as your going faster than it.

I am. I enjoy the stylus - and I've been mostly putting it through its paces today and I'm happy. Battery life has genuinely surprised me coming from the edge. 400mAh extra is making a better impact than it in theory should. Don't like the ringke case, so i've ordered alternatives and yeah its a finger print magnet alright.

My homescreen setup :)

Doggy doodle using ArtFlow.

No problem with multiple layers and different brush types / digital mediums such as gouache / chalk and pencil .... it's a little fiddly on smaller screen compared to the Note pro 12.2 for example but still very workable though lot more zooming into canvas required.

Really like having my art programmes on the spen menu so I don't need them on my homescreen

Oh ... I haven't inserted the s-pen the wrong way either :D

That is bloody great, us Irish are a talented lot though!

As a matter of interest how long did it take you to do that?
