This does not happen on my T-Mobile Note 5. Great call quality.

Are you using a fast charging adapter? At work, at home, and in my car I use fast chargers (sometimes with generic cables) and they always fast charge. It really makes the lack of a removal battery a non-issue.

Thanks for the response.

I am using oem cable and adapter. It worked perfect in the past but as of late, it won't pick up the fast charging.

That sucks. The purpose of my post was to show that it does work on many note 5s. Why it doesn't on others, is a mystery. Searching the web brings up several with the problem. However, the only solution (it's not a real solution) that seems to work is unplugging and re-plugging the usb cable. Of note (no pun), my Note 5 charges via my Moko wireless stand and my 2 Samsung wireless pads (non-fast chargers) as fast as regular usb to adapter. Maybe, if you had a wireless charger, you could see if it chargers at the same rate as a regular connection? If not, maybe it's actually your Note and not either the cable or the fast-charging adapter?

Hey guys, anyone else get a ton of missed calls. Either my phone doesn't ring at all and then the missed call indicator alerts me, or I get one ring and then it goes to VM? I've had this happen on previous Notes before and wonder if it's just Samsung technology again. ATT with a full 5 bars of signal when it happens too, no wifi calling enabled or anything like that.

Perhaps try a Verizon Note 5 loaner from Ultimate Test Drive. Have no issues with Verizon or Tmobile Note 5.

Yeah I've been thinking about going Verizon for a while, but I really dislike them and some of their services. Tmobile is fairly useless for me where I live, travel and work, it's a shame because they are such a cool company.

Honestly I don't think it's the service though as my 6s+ didn't do this at all.

You know, I've been having the same issue with my One M8, I've been using it for a week now and constantly am getting just voicemails with no rings. Really frustrating since it's my work phone, didn't have any problems with my 6S. I'll be switching back to my Note 5 tomorrow, will let you know if the problems persist. On AT&T btw.

Well, been using my note 5 now for a couple of days and haven't noticed any issues. Have you dropped your phone recently? I ask because last month my daughter banged my note on a table. Didn't leave any marks but the Bluetooth went to hell, barely connected and constantly dropping. Ended up swapping it for another note

On a side note, been using Samsung pay and it's fantastic. The ui needs some work, but to me it's better than Apple pay. With my iPhone I'm never sure if the place I'm at will accept it, but I have been able to use Samsung pay everywhere.

Just got back from vacation and used Samsung Pay quite a bit. Seriously great!

I like Apple pay better, I like that you would get alerts whenever your card(s) were used and what amount. So I know what my wife is doing with my business corporate card, hehe. Samsung pay is pretty decent so far, but only BofA uses it so that leaves my other accounts out of the loop.

I have yet to try Android pay, is it even worth playing with?

I use Chase with Samsung Pay and get alerts for just about anything I want.
Apple Pay isn't bad but it has limited use at the present time.
Android Pay... in its old form yes (actually use a Google Wallet card...).

That's what I do. I paid cash for my two MacBook Pros at BestBuy last summer. If I can't pay cash for something, I don't buy it. Been down that road before with credit cards.

Well they did invent things like debit cards, which are pretty much cash.

Anyone here root their Note 5 a week after buying? I got mine on Thursday and I'm going to root it in a few days. I'm just using it for several days to make sure everything works before I void the warranty.

I rooted my Note 4 and Note Edge just two weeks after buying.

There are a ton of resources over at XDA and some pros and cons. The biggest is loss of Samsung Pay unless you don't use it of course.

I don't have any cards currently that Samsung Pay is supporting anyways. If that's the biggest thing to lose, I am not worried. I'll do some reading over there. I may end up rooting the phone today.

What carrier is your N5 on?

I uninstalled / disabled all the Carrier and TW apps I didn't like, installed Nova Prime and set it up how I wanted it.
Got what I wanted, still have Samsung Pay and Air Command, and didn't void any warranty stuff.

The number one reason that I root my Android phones is to block ads in apps and everywhere else on the phone including YouTube ads. Voiding the warranty to be able to do that was always worth it to me.

Getting a little bored with my N5, might just have to root to bring back some excitement.

Is it a difficult process?
