C'mon Samsung and TMO.....where is my Marshmallow?

Here ya go. ;)

Be careful what you wish for.

Everyone I know that had a Galaxy S5 absolutely HATED the Lollipop update, and half of them sold theirs, it was that bad.

At least my S6 Edge is WORKING properly (more or less) and although I grumble about the lack of Marshmallow, at least my phone is perfectly good as is.

Samsung are still a bit lame though.

I do agree with some of the post when it comes to battery issue! They should focus on battery rather than to improve the screen and outer body. Every individual expects their device to lasts long!

Yeah...but I think these apps do more than ad blocking on the browser. The impression I got was that they also remove ads from apps. No video ads in youtube is awesome. Adguard has lifetime purchase at 25$ per device. A bit too high for my liking but it is a non-root option so that is a plus.

I couldn't deal with the wasted real estate space with their permanent notification panel and taskbar icon spam. Ads don't really bother me as I don't see them much, not as much as a regular computer at least.

Samsung Galaxy S6 and Note 5 Marshmallow updates pushed to March.
http://phandroid.com/2016/01/25/samsung-galaxy-marshmallow-update-2

Android 6.0 came out in October, and I understand the non Nexus phones take 2 or 3 months before they will update to the latest version, but almost 6 months  WTF Samsung  LG and HTC already updated their flagship phones to Marshmallow.

The Note 5 is my last Samsung phone I'll own. And I typically get Nexus phones or HTC, but passed on the M9, and should have picked the 6P over the N5. My mistake, and this year I will get the One M10 possibly, or the Nexus-N this Fall.

Great, that means my AT&T variant won't get it until May probably.

I'm right there with you with an ATT model!! That's ok I've learned to be patient, especially since we haven't been able to root in a loooong time. Samsung truly doesn't realize that it indeed does lose consumers because it lags so badly at software releases, made worse by ATT who will sit on the update for months.

Why is it so critical you get 6 now? Mine is running great on 5.1.1 and don't see 6 as giving me all that much that I need it tomorrow.
Just asking...

I like to have the latest and greatest. Nothing in particular, although I kind of like being able to choose what services an app can and cannot use. I'm just used to coming from a desktop like mentality where hardware is universal and when an OS update comes out you go and get it on release day and install it. Yes I would gladly pay for Android as an OS and updates if they bypassed the carriers and manufacturers, although I don't feel that is necessary seeing how much money Google is making from Android.

I understand Samsung is there to make money, and one way it makes money is to entice consumers to upgrade the OS when new hardware comes out. I just think it is damaging on some level for their existing consumers who may upgrade less frequently, but would be more loyal long term.

Thanks. I was just curious.

Hey guys, anyone else get a ton of missed calls. Either my phone doesn't ring at all and then the missed call indicator alerts me, or I get one ring and then it goes to VM? I've had this happen on previous Notes before and wonder if it's just Samsung technology again. ATT with a full 5 bars of signal when it happens too, no wifi calling enabled or anything like that.

Anyone having the problem where their phone doesn't fast charge? I'll have to unplug and plug the cable in order to get fast charging and it doesn't work all the time. I'm starting to think my cable might be faulty.

Edit: I'm using the original cable that came with the device.

I'd call ATT and make sure they have the right device registered. Sometimes, just updating your IMEI with carrier could solve some of those issues.

This does not happen on my T-Mobile Note 5. Great call quality.

Are you using a fast charging adapter? At work, at home, and in my car I use fast chargers (sometimes with generic cables) and they always fast charge. It really makes the lack of a removal battery a non-issue.
