I have a quick question and this may be the wrong place for this question. But when Android users update their phones do they still get slow just like the iphone do after each update? I'm thinking about getting the Note 6. ( I think that may be out sometime during the summer) Thank you

Depends on the manufacturer. I have seen cases where the phone gets slow and also cases where the phone gets fast. But the thing with Android is that there is nothing stopping you from going back to the version you want...provided you are rooted. In the specific case of Samsung, I have a Note 3 that has seen few updates. It has not slowed down the phone. It still performs admirably. I had an issue with Sony xPeria SP when one of its updates turned the phone into a laggy mess. I simply reverted the update cause I was rooted.

How long does that battery on the Note 5 last vs the iPhone 6 or 6 plus?

In my experience, the iPhone 6/6s Plus battery outlasts the Note 5. This is mainly because out of the box, the Note 5 has more than a few processes running and is doing a lot more. Folks on XDA have used programs like Package Disabler Pro to disable processes they thought they do not need. After doing this, the Note 5 easily scores 7-8hr screen on time (SOT) compared to its previous self of scoring only around 4-5 hours. My Note 5 gets around 4.5 hours of SOT, 1.5 days of standby. My wife upgraded her 6S to a 6S plus and without doing anything, gets 2 days of standby and what I would estimate to be at least 5 hours of SOT. YMMV.

Are there some issues with the Note 5 that need to be ironed out?Thank you
No issues AFAIK. If you can work with it, it is a fantastic phone! Some guys have issues with its aggressive memory management but the soon to come update to marshmallow is rumoured to address that

Honestly most of my Android phones (Note II and Note 4) did feel slower a year after I got them, but I'm not sure whether or not the update is to blame. I'm currently on an S6 edge+ and the thing is fast. I'm sure a Note 6 would be blazing, update or not.

Thanks for the insight. I talked to me co worker and he said that it just depends on how often you update and he didn't say anything bad about android. He loves them.

Anyone on here notice or get noise distortion coming form the speaker starting about maybe 5-6 seconds into the song or video? I went back to the store to return it, but after doing a factory restore the issue went away. So I couldn't replicate the issue so I couldn't return it.

It depends on where you got the music. Was it happening to aLL songs or just certain ones? Is it local on the device or cloud based music? But if a reset fixed the issue then most likely it wasn't a hardware issue but a software issue. On my N5 I haven't had any issues like what you described.
But it's fixed now so hopefully it doesn't come back. Enjoy!

Curious, what messaging app is everyone using? I've used Textra in the past and I'm using it now but not really feeling the $2+ price tag that comes with it to remove ads.

Stock Samsung messaging is fine, along with stock Samsung browser, which I now prefer over every one I've ever used on a mobile.. it's simple, fast and does the job.... rungs rings round chrome IMHO.

Stock messaging app is good enough. Customisable even...

Question about stock messaging app: how can I add a comment to a picture/attachment without having it send the image as soon as I select it? Not sure if I make sense.

The stock messaging app doesn't send any picture/attachment unless you hit send.

It was several videos i tried on youtube and music from my phone. This afternoon the top left corner was not responsive either until I did a reboot. I just hope that these issues won't come back after my return period is over.

If you see the image attached, I don't have the option to comment on the attachment.

Gotcha, tbh Just rrealised there was ads on my page, I just block them out.. they are worth it though for the superb Samsung stock browser...
Now that I have seen what a webpage without ads look like and how fast they load, I just can't do without an adblocker :) It is a must have! A pity that the excellent browser on the Note 5 does not support this.

Yup, I just got the 6S Plus, and having ads blocked is huge. I really hope google brings that to chrome.
