Note 5 is a better iPad Prosumer that fits in your pocket and even with bigger 5.7" display the phone is actually smaller than 5.5" iPhone 6S Plus. The best phone on the market until the Note 6 comes out.

I've had my note 5 since launch. There haven't been much slowdowns, with the exception of keyboard lag that has developed in the last month or so. I like the Note better than my 6 Plus, it feels smaller and is easier to use one handed. The screen is great, slightly better than the iphones, and the camera also seems better at taking pictures, but video is better on my iphone.

The only thing I like better on the iphone are the Apple apps, stuff like imessage, facetime, Apple watch, airplay, ect. Also apps on my iphone are better optimized and seem to work better. But other than that, features like multi-window and the spen really let you take advantage of the larger screen.

Anyone else having crappy battery life? Based on my Note 4 I would have thought the Note 5 would have battery life equivalent to the iPhone 6s+. I'm finding my Note 5 has about half the battery life of the 6s+. I miss coming home after a very long day and having 60% on my iPhone, now I find my Note 5 with 20% or less. It's been a LONG time since I've seen a phone go below 5%.

I can't see anything in particular out of the ordinary. It's not rooted, I don't really have much installed on it. Brightness is on auto.

Android system: 8%
Voice calls: 7%
Google Play services: 7%
Screen: 6%
Waze: 5%
Cell standby: 5%

Any suggestions, or maybe apps which would help? Other than this I'm pretty happy switching back to the Note 5, it's a pretty awesome phone. (I'm also stuck in the imessage bug, sigh. imessage/facetime/find my iPhone all are off before I swapped sims, but I still can't receive group messages, bleh).

No one else misses the little phone floating icon you could move around when in a phone call?!?!?

I believe he's referring to minimizing the call to a chat head. Stock Android puts the call into the notifications. I prefer the chat head too.

No, what I meant was when your in a call you could minimize the call window just to have the callers picture and the length of the call. You could drag this anywhere on screen. I was under the impression it was a feature unique to TouchWiz, but I'm not sure. Enclosed is a pic, if you look at the upper left of the phone screen you will see the minimized phone call with caller picture and timer. I loved this feature as it allowed me to multi task on my Note 4, I'm hoping there is some hidden setting to enable it on the Note 5.

Nice to see the stagefright vulnerabilities patched on the last update...Nice one, a little piece of mind.

As for battery life, mine is fine compared to my Note 4. I don't miss micro SD at all.
USB 3.0 OTG Is handy in the odd case I want to add or subtract data.

I can understand how others would though, my usage is a lot different than others I know and though I think their expectations are a bit over the top and their usage is a bit exaggerated, I can see. Their point.

There's nothing out there I would swap my Note 5 for currently.

I've totally stopped using Nova launcher which is surprising as I considered it essential on the Note 4. Themes are great, the only thing I miss is the ability to remove labels from icons and such.

Oh, right. I completely forgot about that from my note 4. I guess it was removed, I searched through all my settings and couldn't find a way to enable that.

I don't know about wide release, but they are releasing it in South Korea. With the impending European release, maybe they add this to make a bigger splash?

Well the rumours (which I don't believe personally) are saying end of January. But given rumours are pointing to a S7 unveil end of Feb / launch beginning of March I really can't see Samsung launching the Note 5 in Europe and then having it usurped only a 4-5 weeks later by the S7 / S7 plus / S7 edge / S7 edge + ..... It would have less logic to release it then, than the decision to not release it back in October.

I just don't see it happening. I think Samsung will save all its marketing muscle for the S7 range & that Note 5 European release will remain nothing but rumour.

Well, you maybe right. My gut says they will release it in Europe by early 2016. Samsung release devices often; logic has little to do with it. We'll see...

This is true... Likewise if they do release it - Perhaps it could be an indication the S7 family won't be coming as early as everyone expects, but given were already getting design leaks I suspect it's on track ... We will have to wait and see, but even if they do release the Note 5 right on the cusp of the S7 family launch it does feel like the biggest blunder as it won't get the sales it would have got back in October.

Agreed. Their stupid focus group bs was a huge blunder. Maybe, it's too late for the Note 5, but hopefully, in the fall, they don't pull this with the Note 6.
