For all of the wireless charging fans, I found this on eBay this morning. Thinking of ordering it...
It looks pretty sweet! wireless charger and lamp!

The TMO model does have WiFi calling on TMO. Only iPhones have WiFi calling on AT&T so far.

I have one foot out the door to grab one at Best Buy, $250 gift card plus another $50 activating Samsung pay, and I think Samsung is giving some kind of bundle with headphones and a case, and a $100 credit on Samsung.com which would nicely pay for a VR headset. Now I just have to weigh how nice wifi calling is on my iPhone versus going back to my Microcell.

Does anyone know what "media server" is or does? I've barely touched my phone (only 46min screen usage), but my battery is down almost 40%. Thanks

Is your device connecting to a TV as a DNLA device. Basically turn all settings related to steaming and wireless display off.

No, it's not connected to anything. Been on the road all day and havent played any media from it either.

But are the services turned on because they would constantly try and poll for a connection ..
How would I do that? The only connections I ever use is Bluetooth to listen and watch podcasts, Hulu, and Netflix, but today I haven't used that all. I use wifi, but never stream anything from my phone.

Go into settings and check the wireless display / screen mirroring option. It could be turned ON which means its polling for a connection regardless of whether you are connected or not. Basically if ON - turn it off :)

Thanks, but I don't see that option anywhere. Even did a search and nothing came up. ?

Strange ... could be not in your rom if its an AT&T or such device.
Yeah, it's the at&t model. If it doesn't have it, what else would show up as "media server"? I've been having random lockups and stutters, figured it was the usual touchwiz lag creeping in since I've had this phone for almost 4 months now, but when I saw my battery drop yesterday is when I started looking into it. It must be some random app calling on that feature?

I see others have issue too and mixed responses to what it could be. Have you got any third party MP3 media players installed other than stock ?

Only google music. Here are all my media apps, haven't gotten any new ones other than screen junkies, but that one I just got this week and I've noticed those random stutters for a while now.

I noticed that the latest firmware, downloaded earlier this week, seems to fix the remaining Stagefright vulnerabilities.

You may have a corrupt file in your storage. Mediaserver deals with both internal and if available, external storage, as well as media as MRU has pointed out.

If Mediaserver is staying awake it maybe due to a corrupt file that it keeps trying to index, check in My Files if you have any bad files e.g. a corrupt music file.

Now that's the one I'm focused on... IF

And it's a Big If!

No longer willing to tolerate an outdated terribly slow home button (my iPhone 6+ excepted) If Samsung delivers a slick new Note 6 without the ghastly home button I'm a buyer.

The rumors that I have solid info on will make this a blockbuster product.

I'm waiting...

(I'm only giving Apple a pass and putting up with home button on my existing iPhone 6+
What about iPhone 7, no home button I'm in. If Apple uses another home button I'm out.)

Thanks, though it hasn't shown up in my battery usage anymore and it seems to be back to normal now (I'm at 26% with 4:40 screen on time)

How would I check for corrupt files, other than opening each one by one?

You'd have to manually check, although I'm sure there is an app that can check for you in Play Store, otherwise a PC app.

Couldn't resist, picked up one of these on swappa. Hopefully the GPS is better than on the N4.

You all know my intense hatred of the Samsung logo on the front. I'm quite psyched to have found an edge to edge screen protector to cover that up. Fits well, no halo/bubbles and feels nice with just a tiny tiny bit more drag when using the stylus.

Please link that protector.

Here ya go http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B015EETX2C?psc=1&redirect=true&ref_=oh_aui_detailpage_o02_s00

You'll see some bad reviews in there, I'm not sure why. I had no halo whatsoever, a few bubbles which I just had to rub them out very carefully and now there are zero bubbles. Around the edges there was a VERY slight and thin edge which didn't stick down, I just kept rubbing it down a bit every now and again and this morning they are mostly gone. I expect they will continue to improve, but they are only noticeable if I have the screen off and put it up close to my eyes.

I'm quite impressed for what I thought would be a cheapie product. Did I mention it's glass? And it's .26mm thin. I'm not a big fan of glass screen protectors because you see where they go around buttons and holes and look horribly cheap, but this one being edge to edge makes it look like there is no screen protector installed at all.

Just be careful and do it right. Wipe down the front with alcohol and dry it, use the sticker to take up any loose dust and take your time centering the protector. Press from the center out, and lightly work out any bubbles without giving up too soon.

I'm working on the back next. I have a magnetic dock in my car so I am painting a small magnetic circle black sapphire to match and that goes underneath the Skinomi matte full body protector which goes on the back and sides. This way I have a fully naked, yet scratch protected phone.

Hey guys what happened to the floating phone icon when in a phone call? I loved that on TW on my Note 4, but don't see it on the N5 at all.
