Makes me wonder if Note line will carry on.

I sure hope so. If Samsung doesn't want to continue it, they should sell their s pen technology. Hey, why not make a deal with Apple to get their fines reduced or eliminated (I know they are trying with the courts) by selling it to them?

Seriously, the Note line is their best line (no offense S6edge+ users). Maybe add a sd card slot but keep the awesome wireless charging. In the past, I used to carry a spare battery. With the wireless and fast charging capabilities, my Note 5 always has a good charge so no need for the spare.

Samsung makes a good move releasing (in certain markets) the Note 5 earlier. Then, makes a bonehead move not releasing it in Europe. Hopefully, Samsung doesn't rely on the late Europe release (I believe they will do it) of the Note 5 to determine it's future. Many Note users were ticked off and purchased others. Obviously, there's too many excellent flagships for people to hold off from.

The S-Pen uses Wacom's digitiser technology so it's not Samsung's to sell. They merely buy/licence it from Wacom.

I can't see Samsung discontinuing the Note line anytime soon. I think not releasing it in Europe is a head scratcher though. Doesn't make sense to me.

Anyone else getting issues with auto switching from wifi to cellular? When leaving my house my N5 seems to hang onto my wifi signal for ages, with means no network. I've had it without a network for a solid 3 or 4 miles from my house. Sucks also for GPS as it takes ages for it to load, sometimes it even fails because of no network.

OMG Spinedoc have you ever had a Samsung phone you didn't have major issues with? Did you go through like 10 Note 4s? Why continue to buy them? :)

I'm always impressed with the N5 camera.

am i the only one who thinks the N5 and S6 display makes editing a photo too difficult? It gives skin a more redish/tan tint compared to say the iphone therefore you don't know how its going to appear to viewers without the amoled display

Have you tried Basic mode? It looks way better for photo editing.

Lol, yeah true that. But seriously the Note 5 is pretty decent, it's a lot better than the Note 4. The battery life is crappy though, and I miss not having to manage the iPhone 6s+ battery life whatsoever. It didn't matter what I did with the 6s+, whether I left it on all day or made a ton of calls or watched videos, that sucker had incredible battery life.

The reception issue I suspect is my microcell. I leave my house and I have no network, somehow it may be stuck to my microcell or still looking for it. Even weirder after a mile or so then I only have Edge network and that sticks like glue for another several miles before 4gLTE kicks in. Normally once I leave my house I'm in a medium strong LTE area. I'm hoping ATT turns on wifi calling soon and that resolves my issue, I have no idea what the freakin hold up is with that.

Just curious which Screen Mode setting people prefer on the Display settings ? Is any one better on battery life or those mides don't effect battery ? Which mode really makes this awesome Note 5 show off it's screen best ?

AMOLED cinema seems to bring out the deepest and richest colors, with purest white whites. Where Photo seems the most subdued and neutral colors.

Can we tweak the display like we can on Nexus or CM ROM's with kernel apps ?

I go with adaptive for purer whites except for night and low light environments where I'll switch to basic the warmer, easier-on-the-eyes tone.

Not sure about battery life impact but doing the above nets me 5-6 hours SOT easy (sometimes 7).

To save battery on an AMOLED screen (with color and not brightness), use as much pure black color as possible (hex 000000). If it's not pure black, the pixel will turn on.

what browser are you all using? I just can't seem to find an efficient and smooth browser for Note 5 that blocks ads. I have tried Opera, Firefox, Adblock and right now on Apus. Apus seems to be better with fewer lags. Every other app on the Note is good enough...

Chrome Dev is smooth as butter, zero ads. I'm using AdAway

Firefox mostly works ok with ABP.
It works....but no very well IMO. There is stuttering in scrolling, switching tabs. The best browser for the Note 5, I have found, is the one it comes with. It is smooth, comes with a dictionary. The only disadvantage is, it does not support any ad blocking. I suppose, if I root and install adaway, my problems with the browser disappear.
