So two trays, one on top, one under volume buttons...microSD card?
We don't know, that's not a real photo it's a render.

The ringke & spigen case shots only revealed sim slot.

We'll know for certain in two weeks (although I'm sure it'll likely have leaked properly as in a real device before then)

If it does end up with a microSD, call me a sucker and take my money in a few months once the pricing goes down and promotions for the phone comes up.

Battery size ? I recall rumors if a 4100mAh sized battery for the Note 5, but highly doubt that'll happen, Samsung wouldn't have the balls to put in a beastly sized battery like that. They need to copy Apple and the stupid anorexic wafer thin profile.

I bet this just has an average 3200mAh battery, and this phone will get good battery life, but nothing like the old Motorola MAXX's used too.

Time, because it rules EVERYTHING!
We have a new leak on the upcomingGalaxy Note 5 from evleaks. According to Evan Blass the device will pack a 5.66-inch 2560×1440 pixel display with an octa-core Exynos 7420 SoC. 4 cores are capped at 2.1Ghz whereas the other 4 cores have 1.5GHz. Other tech specs included are: 4GB of RAM, multiple native storage options due to no microSD card support, Android 5.1.1 running out of the box and an impressive 16MP primary shooter accompanied by a 5MP frontal camera.

Along with these tech specs we also have an image of what the Galaxy Note 5 and the Galaxy S6 edge+ will look like. As you can see below the devices are side by side, and they have the same dimension. The image also shows the Stylus that’s due to be included in the Galaxy Note 5, a Stylus that will be relying on a push-to-release mechanism. We’ll hear more about this device when Samsung will be hosting itsUnpacked event on the 13th of August, when they’ll most likely announce this device along with the Galaxy S6 Edge+. Let us know what you think about these specs by leaving a comment.

Bugger, looks like MRU might be right... Lol

Interesting screen size, and means a more compact device.

By the way, this new forum really doesn't like chrome on my Nexus 5, it vice versa as I cannot turn off italic in this reply.

I don't think it will have the 4100 mAh battery. But then that Droid Maxx isn't have half the phone the note 4 is. The camera sucks big time. The design weight and sales all reflected what that phone was. The Droid line is dead.

The S6 Edge + is rumoured to have a 3,000 - 3,200 mAh. It will be interesting to see if the note 5 has a bigger battery. Hopefully it will :)

Thank god ... My hat is not particularly tasty :D But yeah .... called it months ago :p

Up selling on storage is going to be an important marketing aspect going forward with all Samsung flagships. It's business sense financially for Samsung and given the rough ride their profits are on - it is perhaps a necessity.

Sadly you're right and it does make sense for them but not for us consumers. I'll just wait until the price drops and for sales if I really want one. For the time being, Moto X Style here I come.

Samsung needs to get rid of their Apple envy and be Samsung again and just innovate. But afraid we'll never see that again.

I cannot see myself really getting a Note 5. Seems like great specs and cool software, but Samsung really fudges up timely updates. I think I'll stick to Apple and buy a lower end Android.

I find it laughable that people think Samsung should drop their price when it is Samsung giving you the phones (S6/Edge/Note) with the most expensive tech (parts and manufacturing) and then go buy an iPhone at a higher cost for inferior dated tech. Now if you go buy a cheaper android, then that's exactly what you got, a cheaper android. And it would still be a great phone. I totally get not everyone wants the best tech in the industry (camera, display, etc), but If you do, it'll cost you. It's that simple. Trust me, I'm for lower prices, but I'm not gonna just say it's Samsung that has to be giving the lower prices. Everyone does. There's a reason Apple made up 90% of profits in the industry. Like I said, I can in no way in good conscience and simple logic, give my money to a company that charges me prices that only Samsung should be charging in this industry. Nobody else simply has the hardware to be charging prices like Samsung. So put it this way, if the S6 sold for $600, the iPhone should be $400 and the rest take it from there.

Let me just add, Apple was totally deserving of the higher price on the iPhone when it came out, but it simply is not the same today. Not even close.

Let me make it simple for you.

Galaxy S series/Note = BMW
Non galaxy Samsungs = Ford

Iphone 5c = Porsche
Iphone 5/6 = Ferrari/Lamborghini

Samsung built a reputation for itself from its previous products. It could build the most super smartphone going forward but will always be a BMW level product.

That certainly is your opinion. But a lot of us here might have the order reversed.

Oh dear, there's simply no words. And this mentality right here is why Apple has 90% of profits. It's funny how people with this mentality will say, "show me what am I getting for my money," when buying anything else like a house, car, appliance, home theater electronics, etc... But when it comes to the Apple product all logic leaves them. The irony is, it's that very mentality that has given Apple the permission to give them the small incremental update known today as the S model.

Apple make products beyond pure specs. Its not about RAM processor speed etc but more about overall design.

Samsung have always been about cheap ugly plastic with components that are suppose to be leading but actually are not on everyday useage.

Its like all these people complaining about SD slots. The best thing Samsung have done is to actually use premium materials and to actually put more emphasis on design eg the curve on the edge. Who gives a monkeys about SD slot when the device comes in 128gb.

I prefer android but android will always be the poor mans OS. Samsung will always be a poor mans brand which is why they need to offer more. You cannot overturn a reputation of delivering cheap ugly rubbish overnight. The S6 edge and Note 5 is a step in the right direction tho.

Lets not forget that the S5 is probably the ugliest smartphone ever made amongst the top 6 manufacturers followed by the S4 then the S3. I thought it couldn't get worse than the S3 till the S4 arrived and then the S5.

Oh I see, you're one of those people that can't move on. Forever stuck in the past. Tech and discussions about tech in general are not for people that can't move forward, because that's what tech does, move forward. People who get stuck in the past and can never move on, should never expect to be taken seriously on their opinion of anything tech.

I partially agree. Apple doesn't concentrate on certain specs, but does on others in an attempt to give an overall high quality experience. Such as the CPU, it's only dual core and only runs at 1.38ghz, but the was designed in a way that performance is off the charts, even now almost a year later only Samsung has come close in matching the single core performance, and even then it's not as energy efficient because it runs at a higher frequency. So while some see "dual core, 1.38ghz" they think those are "low specs" not accounting for the high quality architecture.

I also agree you on Samsung’s reputation. They nailed it with the S6, and really started turning things around with the Note 4, but they should've started making those kinds of phones after the success they had with the S3, instead they kept making the same thing while just pouring more money into marketing.

Yeah that's why you can't multi screen on a 1gb Apple device. Apple doesn't make products beyond pure specs, rather they 1) make whatever the market will bear, ie what consumers will pay for and 2) have to tailor (dumb down) their OS to match the weak hardware specs. That 2nd point is where apple loyalists will jump in and say that they are providing something beyond specs. iOS from day one was an OS designed around hardware limitations, and that glaringly shows today with other mobile OS' out there.

Samsung has indeed been about cheap ugly plastic, I'll add to that I think Samsung hardware is junk. I've had so many hardware issues over the years with Samsung, but with Apple I have very very few hardware issues. Software is also a sore point, touchwiz can run like crap, even on something as insanely specced as the Note 4. iOS runs great on the iPhone, not perfect, but great, with the caveat of things like low RAM and reloading web pages and apps not really multi tasking but being frozen in the background.

About SD cards, I disagree. What happens when you want to record video in 4k and don't have a wireless connection? Lets see how long your 128gb lasts you with the OS, apps and consumables installed.

Android is the poor man's OS because Apple has positioned itself as a luxury brand, and consumers have eaten it up. Although fashion is like that, a shirt that costs 50 cents to make in China sells for a hundred bucks here because of the name on the tag. Samsung is trying to position itself as a luxury brand, but it's too little too late. I'm also not seeing anyone match Apple's hardware, quality, fit and finish, nobody. Add to that Apple's customer service, just thje ability to walk into an APple store and get help versus sending your Samsung phone to Texas and waiting a month before maybe having it fixed is insanely powerful.

Soooo..... back on topic and ignoring the Apple is God and Samsung are the devil arguments.

New pics and they say these could be official press renders that have been leaked, pretty much the same as already seen:

galaxynote5render.jpg

Damn those bezels make my Note 4 look fat and dated. And considering the Note 4 bezels aren't big, that's saying a lot. Easily gonna be the most premium phones in the market. That being said, I can understand people being upset and not upgrading from their Note 3/Note 4 because of the lack of Micro SD Card. At the same time, I understand Sammy taking that option away. They're not in this business for Shlts and Giggles. Can't wait to see one in person with the Gear A.
