Images look legit. Definitely upgrading from S6.

I thought Android moved to all ART for 64-bit...

Dalvik is more compatible with apps that haven't been updated so it trumps the slightly better performance from ART for now.

Okay.

So why does my S6 show ART as the Java VM using CPU-Z? And why does it show API level 21 for Android 5.1.1 when my S6 is on API level 22? I was trying to be subtle and imply that this is a fake, but I'm going to have to come out and say it. This is probably a fake, at least the CPU-Z thing.

Seems like no more external card and/or swappable battery ? I *really* hope they throw in a 4,000+ mAh battery!

Beautiful design, nonetheless!!

Really disappointed there is no microSD but it does look very nice. The Samsung sucker in me will probably get one after some good promotion comes out.

Well I have to say it ... contrary to everyone who insisted I would be proved wrong or that we wouldn't see a 32gb version ...

'Told you so!" ;)

Samsung needs to up sell and make more profit. Increased storage capacity is as Apple know all too well the best way of leveraging that.

They have an opprtunity to make an extra $200 on a single device sale. That considerably helps Samsung bottom end. They're a business, and they are in the business to make money much like every other.

There will be bitching in forums, but people will soon get over it.

There we have confirmation now.The Note 5 will have the upgraded Exynos 7422 SoC. It won't be the same as the Galaxy S6 as some here has said. I knew they would up the specs for the Note line as it has always been their top flagship.

Like every other year since the last four, there’s been a great build-up around the next-generation Galaxy Note phablet that Samsung will unveil. The launch isn’t very far, purportedly scheduled for mid-August; but the leaks and rumors keep coming regardless of that fact.

First posted on GSMArena, a screenshot allegedly from a Galaxy Note 5 running the CPU-Z application confirms the existence of 4GB RAM and the speculated Exynos 7422 SoC for the phablet, along with a QHD 5.7-inch display and other goodies. The model number of the device that exposed this info is SM-N920F.

It’s been a bad day at the office for Samsung officials, after some high-res photos of the Galaxy Note 5 leaked moments before we got this bit of info.

Still doesn't confirm if there is any actual cpu speed increase or just using the new design (an all in one chip with modem / gpu / cpu all on one).

According to previous rumors, the Exynos 7422 will be an all-in-one solution that incorporates the CPU, the GPU, the RAM, the storage, as well as the radio modem in a single chip. At the moment, we don't know what to expect from the Exynos 7422 in terms of hardware performance, but a moderate nudge is widely expected by the tech community.

So you're saying they just changed the numbers without any performance increase?

I am not saying anything other than that they changed the whole design of the processor with everything being on one chip - that would warrant a number change. It doesn't necessarily mean a CPU speed increase, but likewise it doesn't mean that it won't be increased - just that blind assumptions have been wrong here before.

LOL...i guess we will see in a few weeks when it gets released and benchmarked compared to the S6 or the benchmarks get released before then. Time will tell......

You're right and from a business standpoint, I good way to make $$$. From a customer standpoint, I'm not sure if I want to spend nearly 1k for a 128GB phone. One of the reasons why I returned my old S6 Edge 128gb was it was 1k+ and once I came to my senses, I returned it.

Yep it's going to be interesting to see pricing on the Note 5 and S6 Edge+

Unless they drop pricing on existing S6 Edge the + is assumingly going to cost more.

So if we say just €100 more it would mean

S6 Edge + for €949 32gb €1049 64gb €1149 128gb

Which then makes you wonder about Note 5 pricing. Same build as the Edge+ minus curved glass but with same internals as + and the SPen. So will it be similarly priced.

So if we say it's €50 more than current s6 edge, but €50 less than Edge +

Note 5 €899 32gb / €999 64gb / €1099 128gb

Either way it's looking very expensive which could be its biggest Achilles heel.

Especially with Moto's X Style at what will likely be €499/549 here. Is it too soon to drop RRP on the current S6/S6 Edge ? They may not have a choice if they want to bring down those prices.

Wait, that 64gb is like $1100 US?!? Are they actually pricing this more than the iPhone 6s plus? Apple's pricing is very fixed so I doubt it will increase. Currently an iPhone 6 plus 64gb is $849. Samsung is utterly nuts not thinking that consumers will keep right on walking past their phones and into the Apple store. I'm not afraid to spend money at all if I think it's worth it. I'll spend double on a surface pro over an iPad because I think it's easily worth the cost. But I'm also not a fan of throwing away money and I'm pretty sure I ain't spending $1100. $1162 for the 64gb s6E+ is insane as well.

EDIT: Holy crap I looked it up and the S6 edge 64gb is $914 on AT&T, that's nuts. So the plus should be $1014. That's insanity just to get a curved screen. 3 months in and they are 1/2 price on swappa. THe Note 4 was around the same price when released, like $814 for the 32gb so would ostensibly be $914 for the 64gb Note 5. If Samsung wants to dominate they would price it a bit less than the iPhone 6, IMO $50 less is enough to entice consumers who are on the fence.

Yeap, sadly, this might push me towards Moto X

Yeap, sadly Samsung just priced me out of their new Note 5. I really like Samsung for various reasons but not worth getting if the cost is way too much. Good thing I was able to get a $400 Nexus 6 after I returned my S6 Edge.

Not to mention you won't get as much back in resale like you would with an iPhone.

Never pay the RRP prices when it comes to Samsung phones. I never have and never will. Ive owned all Galaxy Notes and have paid closer to 60% each time.
