Upgraded specs and the same design as the S6 and its a winner. It won't be long and we will find out for sure. When was the last time Samsung released a Note line phone with the S line phone specs?

But your missing my point. Does the Note 5 need a faster processor than S6 ? It's already the fastest device arguably for launching apps and such - so if they did decide to use same processor it shouldn't be seen as a bad decision as there is nothing wrong with the Processor as it stands.

That doesn't mean they will and I'm not saying they will at all - it just means I feel that if they should choose to do so, I do not see the processor being the same speed as an issue at all. It's only an issue if your priority is the spec sheet rather than real world speed.

No.... i get what your saying. I could see them sticking with the same chips for the S6 edge Plus as in the S6 Edge. But the Note line has always been their flagship line. They will differentiate the Note line with a different chipset. That is what I think they will do anyway. We will see in a few weeks anyway.

Indeed, and I have no doubt the forum will be full of folks declaring death of apple, complaining about design / hardware changes, bitching about pricing, overjoyed at the reveal, disappointed at the reveal ... :D Happens with every device launch.

If the earlier rumours of an August release were true however, you would have thought we would be having more noise about announcement date by now being last few days of July. I suspect it may end up being September release after all.

edit .... Android central are reporting an announcement date of August 13th with release soon after.

That depends on how optimized Touchwiz is. I still get slowdowns, lag, long times for apps to open, etc on my Note 4. I've heard good things about the S6 TW optimization, but not from everyone, and I've yet to use one for a long length of time. I'll bet things like multi window apps can also benefit from CPU and gpu power, as well as RAM. And lets not forget VR, which is supposed to explode next year with Oculus finally releasing hardware, along with a bunch of other companies/products.

These look legit. The pics are a little blurry, but to me it looks like the chamfered edges are matte. And the SPen is a pull out like always. I like what I see.

Doh, looks like no USB-C, and I'm not sure how I feel about the stylus sticking out like that. Other than that, it looks great, though I hope it's the same size with a 5.8" screen but I'm not going to complain if it stays at 5.7" but more compact. Plus I hope it comes in a deep black color like the iphone, but it'll probably be a mirror type finish like the S6.

Also, something else I noticed is that themes will be included, something I really want.

Yep looks like they've gone with the matte chamfered edge which they had on the Alpha. Looks very nice.

What about battery size ? I heard rumors of 4,000mAh but never believed Samsung would have the balls to be that smart. So I'm assuming it's just like 3,200mAh or something just average for a big phone like this ?

The S6 Edge + on one report today is coming with a 3,000 mAh battery. I'd say 3,000 - 3,200 mAh battery is likely, though I still hope both devices came with 4,000+ battery.

Indeed I'd prefer bigger battery even at the extra expense of thickness. Thin is really great, but a bigger battery in these larger phablet devices would be greater benefit than thinness - especially if we're going non removeable.

Absolutely agree. Would love to see Samsung buck the super stupid skinny thin style, and throw in the rumored 4,100mAh sized battery. Like Motorola does with their awesome MAXX batteries.

If you believe the dimensions of that pic with the case then it may be 6.3mm. I'd love for it to be that thin. Note 4 has 3220 and it lasts forever. Add in ultra power mode which can give all day life with 10% and adaptive charging giving you 50% in 30 minutes. It baffles me who would need more power, maybe a hiker in the Himalayas? Making a phablet smaller is very useful IMO, less bulk to carry. If you are really desperate for that much power, maybe stuck in Pakistan hunting a target and unable to get to a charger, you can just carry a battery backup.

That's kinda my view too. Don't get me wrong, I would love for it to have a huge battery, but I'd prefer it be thinner and have the option to bulk it up with a battery case if needed. As long as it can get me through a day. The thinness of these devices is what has made huge screens so manageable.

This may be premature but is there any word on video out options? Samsung removed the microusb/hdmi cable and MhL cable option from the S6. Samsung also is discontinuing all share cast and going with mirror link which needs a wifi connection like chromecast. It's a make or break purchasing decision for me as I have no home wifi or cable TV. Right now I'm using the S6 with a all share cast dongle and it does the job, I really hope the Note 5 gives us some non wifi video out options.

And here it is. I love the matte finish on the aluminum. Also great news to all, it will have the Exynos 7422. This shouldn't be a real surprise as Sammy has always gave the Note line their best CPU.

But Is it actually clocked higher or just using an all in one schematic / design.

Ram usage seems quite high but we don't know what is running on it. 3849mb ram and only 743mb free ?

Also interesting it's using same model number as Galaxy S6 albeit with N prefix i.e. N920F instead of G920F

24gb free space inside so we can assume it's coming in 32/64/128 storage sizes as the S6/S6 Edge

That is one gorgeous phone! I knew that they would use the upgraded processor for the Note line. It is their top level smartphone.

I'm not sure if it's just the angle of the photo, but I honestly do not see the little dip in the metal next to the S-Pen like in the first photos posted a few posts earlier. Maybe they were testing a few options for releasing the S-Pen (pull out, push to release, and finally auto eject.) We'll find out soon enough.
