New renders. I can now see the reason for having an auto eject pen. The pen is completely flush with the device. Very nice. I also believe the official device's camera will be just a little less protruding.

Looks sweet. Here is a video of those shots. Don't think I've been this hype up for a phone before since the iPhone 4.

Damn that is a nice looking phone! I don't mind the chamfered edges. This looks stylish and like the S6 to me. I can't wait. Just release it already!!

Much better looking renders than previous posted versions. The matte finish on the frame is so much nicer looking than the painted edge and the chamfered edges give just the right amount of visual pop. And IMO, this is a much better use of a curved glass edge--should be much more comfortable to hold. Really beautiful looking design. And I know they're just renders but bummer if it's still using the standard microUSB port rather than USB-C.

I still think the auto-eject system, if true, is just plain stupid. Yes, the S-Pen is flush but it's certainly easy enough to push the pen in to eject it as has been the case for the previous versions of Notes. The auto-eject solve absolutely nothing and is just another potential point of failure.

Looks lovely but I hope they don't go for chamfered edges :( seriously slightest hairline scratch unfriendly as they are.

I pray and hope also that the don't do chamfered edges. Besides looking very gaudy, you can just look at them and they scratch and dent. Am I the only one left in the world that likes a stealth, one color, no logo smartphone like the iPhone or the Nexus 6?

So many rumors! This one says the Note 5 might have the SD Card slot after all!

The source link below has found a document from US carrier Sprint that details the specs of the Galaxy Note 5 (with model number SM-N920P) and the device shows 32GB of storage with the word “yes” beside “external memory slot.” In addition, the microSD card slot will leave room for up to 128GB of expandable storage. Coupled with the 32GB of internal storage, users can expect at least 160GBs of storage should they purchase a microSD card with the maximum storage allotted.

The same Sprint document also details that the Note 5 will come with Android 5.1 Lollipop pre-loaded, alongside of the same 5MP front camera and 16MP back camera we’ve seen on the Galaxy S6, S6 edge, and AT&T-exclusive Galaxy S6 Active, and Bluetooth 4.2 support. The screen resolution remains at Quad HD in the new model, so the legitimacy or illegitimacy of the document could indicate that a 4K resolution is out of the questionfor the new device. As for the model number, it matches the same model number we’ve seen for the Note 5 that will head to Verizon and AT&T in the coming days.

That would be nice, but the same article mentions this.

With that said, if the document is legitimate, Samsung could be reneging on its decision to press forward with UFS 2.0, at least for the time being. Some of our readership may decide to “go buy LG” anyway, but at least Samsung could be trying to please its customer base. At the same time, the reference to “Qualcomm” and not Samsung’s homegrown, Exynos processor could indicate that this page is just a placeholder for the new device (especially since 3GB of RAM is mentioned instead of 4GB), not the final spec sheet for Samsung’s productivity beast.

So, if it came down to having a 64GB model with the faster memory and no microsd, or 32gb model with slower memory but with microSD card slot, I'd rather have no memory card slot. Now in a perfect world I would like to have both, so Sammy make it happen.

Announcement supposedly only 3 weeks away, when should we start seeing invites going out for the press event?

I would have to agree. If i can get the 64GB at a reasonable price I am ok with no SD card.
Yeah the press invites should be going out so I would think. At least two weeks in advance.

Look at the pricing for the S6 and that should give you a guesstimate on pricing for the Note 5 if it doesn't come with a microSD but i have faith it will since Galaxy S and Note series are different and cater to different folks.

a better place
I reckon that article was mostly just Note 4 specs. Qualcomm processor, QHD, 3gb ram, Microsd support upto 128gb cards, 16mp rear camera etc....

Basically it seems that they have filled a place holder with basically the Note 4 specs down to a tee with just a few tweaks to make it 'sound' current like Android 5.1

Either way I think that article needs to be taken with a shovel of salt and not just a pinch

I'd rather have the microSD slot any day of the week. I can't remember a time in my life with smartphones where I've said "hmm the internal memory on this phone is so slow". BUT I agree with you, if price was exactly the same I'd take the 64gb with no external memory. IMO it's a decent trade off. But 32gb AND losing the external memory is too much of a hit.

With that said, I'll start to change my mind about internal memory speeds when things like Microsoft continuum becomes popular and my phone becomes my PC. I'm curious what Google has up its sleeve as it likes to push Chrome as an OS so much, I'm sure they play around with the idea of an Android phone becoming a full Chrome PC by docking it.

Maybe, maybe not.....

Regardless, can see the Note 5 being my next phone uness Samsung royally screw it up somehow.
My Note 4 has been pretty much flawless and I don't really need a new phone....

But I want a new phone, I'm not bothered by sealed battery or micro SD but I would have like the screen res envelope pushed a little, mainly for VR, the current screen is great to the naked eye.

I hope they keep the IR blaster, I find it quite useful.

I have the Note 4 but will buy either a Note 5 or S6+ Edge purely for the metal/glass materials. Couldnt give a monkeys about Sd card slot or removable battery. Will buy a 128gb and will just have to regularly charge the phone like I have done with all my phones the last few years. Im sure everyone has an emergency battery pack for heavy usage.

I am leaning towards your way too. I have a Note 4 but never switch the battery out. Even when we go camping its much easier to carry a portable battery that can charge multiple devices than carry extra batteries for just one device.
I bought one of these and love it! It can charge all my phones and tablets a couple times over.

I'm very interested in the Note 5, but I'm not sure if I would like to pay full price for it (I'm on T-Mobile). So my fiancee has Verizon and she has an upgrade available that I can use. She's happy with her Galaxy S5 :). Have the Verizon Note phones been unlocked & compatible with Tmobile? I'm assuming they are GSM-enabled--just not sure if the right bands are there, particularly with LTE.
