I would say battery life of Note 4 isok, definitely not stellar...

I don't think I'd say stellar either, incredible is a better word. Easily 2 full days of running it hard. Although I must say that using Android Wear with my Moto 360 has fubared my battery life though, I'd say it's cut in half now easily.

My Note 4 has given incredible battery life, its 20:20 here, still got 67% battery, took it off charge at 7am this morning.

Cannot wait for the Note 5 to arrive, thinking of getting it, mainly for the Exynos CPU and Wolfson DAC, the bigger and denser 5.89inch UHD display won't hurt either :D
The Note 4 achieved great batt life with a 3220mAh battery while running a spectacular 5.7inch 2K display, so if the Note 5 comes with a UHD 5.89inch Display and 4100mAh battery it should be fine. :D

Is that a lollipop effect for you as well?
I shall go for hard reset but fear it. It took me 6 months to have a phone perfectly working on 4.4.4 with features and syncs I need and this stupid update messed it up

More info on the Note 5. Interesting stuff about a version without the SPen. That version is being referred to Project Zero 2. So basically a bigger Galaxy S.

I hope Samsung aren't phasing out the stylus, hopefully the non stylus one won't sell more than the stylus Note 5. If it wasn't for the stylus I'd be long gone and using another phone.

No, it will just be one of the 20 diifer Note 5 versions. :p

Exactly. How many people are even going to get VR ? Maybe 1-2%

Why they didn't just release a S6 VR version later.

The tangible benefits of better battery life, brighter screen, better peformance in 3D games and such would serve the 'whole' of the users of the device rather than negatively impact all users for the sake of a tiny minority who will ever get VR.

Agreed. Seems like Samsung is pushing the spec envelope to places very few people will ever need or use.

No way is Samsung phasing out the s pen! Without it, the Notes would not be even close to where they are now. As you, and many of us here know, it's not just a stylus. The software is unmatched (I'm not just specifically talking about touchwiz).

Bigger and cheaper phones are aplenty. Without the s pen, they're just one of many.

Also, like you, a phone without their s pen would make me long gone.

Wow...over 700 PPI on a phone? Jesus...I wish companies were improving battery life at the speed they were improving screens.

But they aren't improving screens. Latency, response times, lag is still the same. All they're doing is upping the resolution, which probably is the easiest thing they can do and using that as a selling point.

With such a high resolution, the performance will either stay the same, or be worse. Also what about all those applicstiond, imahes, etc... They'll all look pixelated. Battery will definitely go down.
