Good news Note 4 users in Europe - your resale value just rose fractionally ;) :)

I don't even know what device to buy now.

Makes the Note 4 at £400 on Amazon a good buy if you are wanting the S-Pen. It's going to be at least £300 cheaper than the S6 Edge plus off-contract.

I'll wait for the new nexus 6 I think. I can't believe that I'm looking at a non Samsung device.

Yeah folks would have moaned - but existing Note users here would have eventually shut up and gone out and upgraded to the Note 5 - but Samsung aren't going to even give them a chance. It truly defies logic.

Time, because it rules EVERYTHING!
What's the difference between Pay and Android Pay? Don't they use the same standards?

No, I thought that was pretty obvious going by the fact they all use different systems?

But everyone knows these are Apple employees so what's your point?

My point wasn't to you, it was to the person who I suspect came here to you know what. Although the event was painful to watch, Apple's are on the opposite end of painful to watch because the Apple employee's scream and shout at the most ridiculous of features.

Yeah. Maybe I should just upgrade my 6 plus. I was thinking of having an apple and android Phone this year but seriously I think I should just stick with apple.
Well I'm going your Route

IPhone 6 plus
Air 2
Watch

Still undecided on mini..not sure I would use it with the plus

Guess I'll be hanging onto my Note 4 and Note Edge for another year. I have extra batteries for each phone and I'll miss that on the 5.

The Gear S2 is also still using Tizen so the apps and support on that will still be non existent. I stopped wearing my Gear S over a month ago and I only bought it in February. I just got so bored with it and went back to wearing my old digital.

So I just clicked on the android central link to read more about the note 5 but what's the point it's never going to be sold over here anyway.

No mate they are not, and on your comment about the audience, they aren't paid staff like at Apple's events hence no roaring over the top hysterical clapping and shouting! With all the non Apple audience members looking around stunned at the ridiculous responses..

Maybe they're not or maybe there, who knows. That was the first thing i thought of and I'm a Samsung user and fan. I wasn't looking for roaring crowds but they seemed disinterested to me. Heck, I watched it and felt the same.

Well, the iPhone 6 Plus 64GB unlocked before tax on Apple's website is $849 so it's in the target market price wise they are aiming for.
Thats the shocking part...the fact that it's nearly $100 more than the iPhone 6 Plus (64GB). We know only Apple can get away with those high prices and people will still buy them. Samsung needs their ego checked. Quickly.

It is all but confirmed its not coming to Europe (Note 5) at least in the near future. The S6E + is looking more and more like the only model that will be released here.

WTF?

http://www.bbc.com/news/technology-33859952

Confirmed !!!!! No european release and none planned for the Note 5.

I just do not understand this strategy. They are regardless of how lovely looking the S6E+ is, giving Apple a great boost in advance of the 6S+ and the likes of LG-G4 may see greater sales lift. It baffles me. S6E + is lovely, but at €900 it's not going to have near the sales in Europe as the Note series has had up to this point. Madness.

WTF Samsung, this makes no sense. Samsung just gave Apple an early Christmas present; Apple is going to have a better quarter than I thought.

Bet Tim cook can't stop laughing

Ouch! After work, I'll have to watch the present to see if it's as bad as you guys are saying.

That's because they presented it like a powerpoint boardroom meeting!

E3 are the best ones to watch, they do not too bad a job considering the huge numbers in the audience they have, way more then these event's.

I was tempted to do the same and may of got the Note 5 for work, but not now! that event was terrible, they just brushed over the new phones. I'll be sticking with Apple and my iPhone 6 Plus only now!! I really think that the rest of the Europe customers are not going to be happy! I know us in the UK won't be.

Even the edge plus looks like it's just a bigger S6 edge

And with a huge price point

Horrible presentation. As for the products, looks like I'll be going back to the Asian markets or another brand altogether.

Ipad mini 4...would be on contract but not sure it's worth it

Oh yeah, haha. I wouldn't bother if you get an Air and iPhone. All you'll be doing is owning the same device in different screen sizes.

I think in Europe that for new phablets, the Huwai Nexus will sell VERY well now. Although the rumoured size of the device are absolutely massive, bigger than any other phablet on the market. Like the Nexus 6.

What different systems from a retailer point of view? Don't Pay and Android Pay both use NFC? So as long as a retailer's POS system supports it both will work. As far as I know neither Apple nor Google are doing anything proprietary. But please correct me if I'm wrong.

Sad thing is ... I think the Note 5 looks more stylish than it EVER did. It clearly deserves to do well, but Samsung are not going to let it. At least in Europe.

I wonder what the impact of this will be on Samsung's stock price and what their Q4 2015 results will be ....

exactly. It's disgraceful. I feel discriminated against. In Europe and the UK we have been some of Samsung's biggest customers. I had the origonal Galaxy note!!
