Time, because it rules EVERYTHING!
Nope, not going to go off topic further.. Want to know differences in the pay systems start a thread I guess.

Anyway, yeah, I really can't see that Edge selling well, people are going to have to REALLY want the curved screen to spend the extra money.

You can pre-order the 32GB edge Plus in the UK for £699

http://www.mobilefun.co.uk/sim-free-samsung-galaxy-s6-edge-plus-32gb-black-sapphire-p54634.htm

It will be on UK networks next month from what I can tell. That price is the same as the iPhone 6 64GB. Will be interesting..

exactly. It's disgraceful. I feel discriminated against. In Europe and the UK we have been some of Samsung's biggest customers. I had the origonal Galaxy note!!

They will lose customers i think, i'm a bit unnerved by Android but i was thinking about getting the Note 5 as a work phone because i wouldn't have to pay for it anyway, but now that Samsung have done this i'll stick with what i've got. I think Samsung just stuck it's 2 fingers up to Europe customers and i wouldn't be surprised if customers did the same and went else where.

Wow was it incredibly awkward.

Sad thing is ... I think the Note 5 looks more stylish than it EVER did. It clearly deserves to do well, but Samsung are not going to let it. At least in Europe.

I wonder what the impact of this will be on Samsung's stock price and what their Q4 2015 results will be ....

Not good that's for sure.

Not launching in Europe, lunacy. Can't wait for Samsung to use it as an excuse when sales collapse, just like they did with the note 4.

If they wont sell europeans the phone, losing customers HAS to be an inevitability. I just can't work out how in any business frame of mind this makes sense.

Even if you use the excuse they want to drive people towards the S6 Edge Plus in Europe, the fact it's going to be €1,050 - €1,150 off contract - means that whilst you may get a few takers - its not going to be anywhere near the amount that would have traditionally picked up the Note range at say €650-700 .... or enough to make S6 Edge owners current to upgrade either as other than physical dimensions & ram its basically identical.

Samsung seems so lost and out of touch. Sadly, these low to mid range Android phones are taken over. The average person isn't going to spend those high prices on their devices.

Thank you, Moto and OPO.

Exactly and for that price you can get an iPhone 6 Plus and will probably be able to get the 6s and 6s plus when they are announced. I think Samsung have rushed this event in order to beat Apple at announcing their new phones.

So just as I thought, basically nothing proprietary with Pay or Android Pay from a retailer point of view. If retailers accept one they will accept the other.

Exactly that, they chose which model to ensure they had enough off to sell in all regions, and they chose the Edge. I think they chose wrong. Should have stuck with the Note and undercut Apple's pricing.

They must be having a laugh with that pricing.

What different systems from a retailer point of view? Don't Pay and Android Pay both use NFC? So as long as a retailer's POS system supports it both will work. As far as I know neither Apple nor Google are doing anything proprietary. But please correct me if I'm wrong.

Samsung Pay doesn't require the retailer to have a NFC reader.

We should know more about android pay in October. But I would suspect you are correct.

Exactly, they even said in the beginning of their keynote that the Note series was the most liked, yet they have chosen to not release it in Europe talk about shooting themselves in the foot. I'm sure Apple will eat this up when the new iPhone's are announced next month, let's face it they haven't got to do much to get above Samsung standard, at the is point just release the 6s and 6s Plus in Europe ;)

That's because they presented it like a powerpoint boardroom meeting!

E3 are the best ones to watch, they do not too bad a job considering the huge numbers in the audience they have, way more then these event's.

I'm going to have to go to an E event one of these days and yes, big failed powerpoint presentation. They are getting worst each year for Samsung.

Yes we are always in the launch day when new Apple products are released (UK). We even got Apple pay in a timely manner. I don't know what Samsung's problem with Europe is. They started this last year when they stopped selling their laptops on Europe depriving me of chromenook 2.

Ignore the poster he doesn't know what he is talking about.
I have been to Samsung events, apple events, Nokia events, as well as other mobile vendor events.

Samsung events are littered with Samsung employees and investors.
Apple does things a little differently.
Nokia was just plain Finnish.

You caught that too.
Hahaha, it doesn't look like they finished copying the apple watch interface, they need more time.

That's my first impression but when you think of it, what icons can they use? Would square icons look good on a round watch? Circle icons does make sense though. TBH, no win situation here with their Apple envy mentality.

Put a stake in the Note 5. Smaller battery, expensive prices, no SD slot, Samsung's lack of customer service, and Touchwiz software issues.

Every time Samsung copies apple, I hear that argument, doesn't make it any true.

Doesn't matter anyway, Samsung never follow through.
