I'm curious to hear from current Note 4 owner...hell, even Note 3 owners. What about the Note 5 makes it a worthwhile upgrade over what you're using now? What features/functionality are you gaining with the Note 5--Samsung Pay comes to mind but anything else?

Genuine question, not trolling you--Apple devotees generally done need much to encourage them to upgrade to the new model and I'm wondering where that line is for Samsung fans.

For me, its the hardware, new features and how it looks different from previous models. I could careless about Samsung Pay because once I root it, I'll lose it. I'm a TW fan even though I use a different launcher.

Don't get me wrong, I'm still pissed about the storage options (no 128gb / microSD) and how it looks like a large S6.

As I have mentioned before in this forum along the way, absolutely nothing makes it worth it to me. Specs are just too similar, its like going for a full priced iP6S when you just bought the iP6...... It makes me happy to know that in my soon to be second year of owning my N4, if the battery starts to die, I can replace it easily. I did want to be tempted, but I gotta say, I like the IR blaster, removable battery, SD card, the camera is still excellent, performance not as snappy with lollipop but not a deal breaker for me. Screen still almost the same. I also like the design of my N4, much classier than the previous models, no extra weight or fear of shatter when I drop it (just the regular concern for the front side of it)

So the Note 5 offers enough to make you upgrade? The hardware looks different but the screen and camera are same, aren't they? Biggest difference seems to be a 1GB bump in RAM. And that presentation showed little as far as new features.

Having watched the event, i'm still amazed that the Note 5 will not be in Europe, have they just opened the door for the iPhone to crush them? Apple will now be able to capture the market with the 6 Plus. Personally i'm heavily integrated in the IOS/Apple ecosystem and i love it But Samsung have just spat in the face of everyone of their European Note fans, i think Apple could capitalise on this! This is what happens when they try and beat Apple to be first to announce their phones, they mess up the presentation big time.

I have the Note 4 and IP6 Plus. The difference is build quality and how it feels in my hand. The IP6 wins hands down for me. I love how the IP6 feels in my hand and the impression it has when I pick it up. The Note 4 feels heavy and thick when I pick it up. But for me the N4 is more functional for my uses. So if the Note 5 can has the same build materials as the Galaxy S6 along with the performance increases over the N4. The that is nirvana for me.

Since the AT&T S6 got root, maybe the AT&T Note 5 can be rooted as well soon after release? That would be enough for me to upgrade from my note 4 since i have a ghost line that's already eligible for upgrade. Selling the note 4 pays for the note 5

Anyone know if there was mention of the Note 5 for China/HK markets?

That's the one I usually get (dual SIM N2/N4) and since Europe is no more, it's either that or the Note 4 if I go back to it.

I'm the minority who prefers the standard flat S6 to the Edge so 6E+ doesn't interest me.

This is simple the most premium hardware in the planet. It's in a class of its own in design and function. If the entry price is too steep, stick with something less premium and unique like a cheaper Android or an iPhone.

And for the people claiming Samsung copied circle icons, stop being ignorant. The Gear runs Tizen, look it up and check the stock icons it runs.

I believe the camera is better because I had the S6 Edge and pictures were better compared to my note 3/4 (i buy every new Note revision). Yes, for me its a big enough upgrade for me to get it, since I tend to change phones every year. I always hand me down to my parents since they don't care about having latest and greatest.

I'm a flasher / rooter so I like having the newest TW if possible and thats from having the latest version. Yes, XDA developers do make old look like new but i just prefer the real deal. Yes, Samsung does release to older models but it takes way longer, I might as well get a new phone to get what I want.

Plus, I get bored easily and over time.

The Gear Fit & Gear S also run Tizen. They do not use circular icons.

The change to circular face and circular icons of Gear S2 was inevitably going to draw the comparison with other devices (even Moto 360)

Like it or not, Apple used circular icons on its watch face before Samsung, and other android OEM's used round faces before Samsung, but does it really matter at the end of the day? No... But most certainly the new Gear S2 has been inspired by Apple Watch & other Android wear circular faced devices.

Samsung PR?^ Straight up sounds like something from an advertisement

And the ignorance in hate in this thread sounds like typical Apple blind loyalists. See how that goes? Now what?

I am done with Samsung. The Note range was supposed to be 'no compromise', the smartphone for power users, but now? The Note 5 is just another big screen phone, I may as well look at iPhone Plus Range next year. Samsung don't even have a 128GB version of the Note 5.

If this is the path they are headed down, I am better off getting an iPhone, at least Apple don't put features then take those features away in the next iteration, Apple are at least consistent.

I am going to hang on to my Note 4, get it a 128GB MicroSD and new slim case, and wait for my upgrade next year, probably get the iPhone 7 Plus.

Time, because it rules EVERYTHING!
Well Samsung have NOT rulled out other markets next year:

We did report a while back that Samsung might not launch the Galaxy Note 5 across all major markets at the same time and now the company has formally confirmed this. Even though pre-orders for the Galaxy S6 edge+ will open up soon in the United Kingdom and the device will be released in stores starting next month Samsung has confirmed that theGalaxy Note 5 won’t be released in the UK this year.

Samsung says that it will look at further opportunities to launch the Galaxy Note 5 in other markets based on individual market situations but for now the handset will only be released in the US and Asian markets in August, the company has already confirmed US pre-order and release dates for both handsets. Pre-orders for the Galaxy S6 edge+ start on August 18 in the United Kingdom and the handset will be available from retail stores across the country on September 4, pricing is yet to be confirmed by Samsung’s retail and carrier partners.

Even if they released Q1/Q2 2016 - By January and Feb people are already gearing themselves up for the new Galaxy S device, the demand and opportunity to capitalise will have been missed.

The end of the note line came with a whimper instead of a bang.

Just curious....what would the IP7 have then that the N5 didn't? SD Card? Removable battery?
Just trying to understand....why the Note is disappointing you but a another phone is OK that doesn't have those features either.
