Even if they released Q1/Q2 2016 - By January and Feb people are already gearing themselves up for the new Galaxy S device, the demand and opportunity to capitalise will have been missed.
Well with the way things are going who knows if we will even get th S7 in April next year. They may decide to snub the UK/Europe again.

Just curious....what would the IP7 have then that the N5 didn't? SD Card? Removable battery?
Just trying to understand....why the Note is disappointing you but a another phone is OK that doesn't have those features either.

I think it's simply because if the reasoning you choose a Note device over an iPhone or other was the the removable storage - MicroSD card, big removable battery - the things that were ubitiquous with a Samsung note device. If they were no longer factors - and if the Software wasn't really a buying factor between deciding which you like - then you may be less swayed towards one device over the other and perhaps try / go for the iPhone instead.

It's not people are saying it's Ok not to have this feature on the iPhone (or giving it a pass as you have often phrased it) - but merely if the differentiator that once swayed you more towards the Note series no longer held true - you may feel swayed to go iPhone instead.

Tsepz will obviously be able to clarify but based on his post, I'd guess being limited to 64GB would be one reason.

The strange thing is, Samsung is known for making SD Discs and storage cards, for a pretty nice affordable price.

How hard would be it for them to make a 128GB Note 5, and not be much more than the 64GB version. Not hard at all. A 128GB version should only cost like $50 more than the 64GB, and that's retail. Look at the Samsung SD cards for sale now, 64GB = $25 and 128GB = $75.

LOL, and no Note 5 in Europe until 2016

And 3,000mAh battery in a Phablet in 2015 LOL. Why not go with a 3,750mAh MAXX style battery, and make the phone a hair thicker, but give it 25% more battery life.

Well...your not the OP...I think I already knew your reasons. Plus you have a Samsung bias...we all know that.

But the features he listed the phone he chose to get instead doesn't have those features either. Then some of us PREFER Android over IOS for our own reasons.

EDIT: I think it is mistake to leave off the SD Card and not release in Europe along with the rest of the world.

Now I'm confused...seeing all these posts about 128GB storage options and the Samsung website also showing it as an option. So is 128GB storage an option or not?

Finally someone noticed it and I don't have to end up being a spammer. =)

We probably won't know until next week but I hope they do have a 128GB because I would get one if they did. My Nexus 6 64GB is almost full and I had to clean out stuff to have space.

Like I said, who needs crazy pills when you got these responses to read. o_O

Where are the crazy responses ? Samsung had a poor launch event. They glossed over many things (battery life for example & pricing )people wanted to know. They then made a giant misstep in ignoring Europe.

What responses since the launch here have been irrational or crazy ? Please explain why those irked or underwhelmed by the launch are on crazy pills.

I think there might be more to come on the 128GB issue.
I was in meetings all morning and could not watch the presentation. Just watched it now.......
Samsung really needs to rethink how they present in the future. Not very well done.

Not really, no other device has the S Pen so if they advertise it well enough before its launched they could possibly not lose too much market?

I think a lot of those upgrading their phones if they were on contracts with the previous Note will be looking around now / September. I honestly can't see those folks waiting around for months not upgrading on the off chance that in 5 or 6 months time 'but without any concrete promise' they will be able to buy one.

I think in all likelihood they'll use up their carrier upgrades on something else, whether it's using it and getting a different device either for themselves, family or to resell.

Well seems like there's hope for Asian markets even though if they take it to mainland China it'll take another beating, mostly due to price (vs Apple's brand or Xiaomi etc being ~50% cheaper).

How do we feel about them promoting the portable charger? Shoulda just made it crazy thin if we need one of those :p

Jamezr I do not have a Samsung bias, you truly need to look in the mirror at that one.
C'mon........we all see it......you hold them to a different standard then any other OEM.
Yes...I do prefer Samsung phones and am a big fan of their phones. But I can admit it......

Samsung have never had great presentations but this one was particularly poor. The others I could forgive the clumsiness because at least they eventually showed off the goodies. Yet in this case there were no goodies :(

yeah...they didn't even go over a lot of the features. They just glossed over some and ignored others. Then their CEO might be a great CEO....but he does not preset products very well. They all seem so robotic.

What I am saying is that if I am going to get a phone with those features missing then it may as well be an iPhone. One of the major reasons I used Androids and especially Samsungs, was MicroSD, as well as handy features like the IR Blaster, now that those things have been taken away , and with the global release being limited, its a clear message to me that this is the end of this range and if I am going to miss the Note range completely I may as well get an iPhone Plus, at least I can be confident that its successors won't have features randomly stripped away and a range suddenly not being sold in part of the world.

I like consistency and with the Note 5, Samsung has taken that away.

I purchase more Samsung devices per annum than any other manufacturer, and I will call them out when they disappoint or do not perform to a standard their price should be reflective of.

When a device costs me twice as much as another, I will hold it to a higher standard. I wouldn't hold a BMW to the same standard as a Fiat. So if a device costs me less then yes I can excuse some of its faults, but when a device costs me €949 and is being outperformed in some areas than a device costing me €400 - I will call them out on it.

You can't go wrong with an iPhone. I have one and will probably get the IP6s plus too.
Will it not be available in South Africa? I thought was just Europe that had to wait until 2016.
Not releasing globally is a mistake IMHO.
But I think it is funny to hear people knock a phone for not having a feature then go to another phone that doesn't have those features either......

What I don’t get is Samsung were obviously aware of poor sales fiqures and the note and edge was suppose to change that and get Samsung back on track to compete with the iphone yet they do this? Refusing to sell the note 5 in Europe. Are they basically saying they just can’t compete with the European sales of the 6 plus? The edge bigger version will cost more than the plus..thats for sure.
