When are full in depth reviews coming out?

Give it a week or two before we start seeing proper reviews. I'm not sure the likes of MKBHD actually have them to use daily yet. It seemed to me they just got hands on time so they may be waiting to receive review devices, plus they usually give it a week of use before they publish a review so they can gain a true measure of the battery, performance etc.

Agreed.

You might see places like phone arena push out their review before Friday...but their battery test and etc are standardized and not true to life.

Hoping for at least one decent review before Friday.

So, who is getting either the Note 5 or the S6 Edge+?

There's just so many choices right now and the new Nexus is just around the corner. Anyone waiting until that is revealed?

I'm about 90% sure I'll be a day one buyer of the note 5, 64gb.

Only thing that would keep me away is if a review came out trashing the battery life. But i am cautiously optimistic that won't be the case.

People can bash Samsung all they want, but it's not much different then the hating that accompanies each iPhone. Everyone hated the plastic build of the previous gens, and now they hate the uber premium build of the current gen. They hate the lack of sd card, but fail to acknowledge that the vastly superior UFS storage is what you get in return (and apparently it doesn't like the slow speeds of the sd card).

Samsung is doing all they can to create a uniform, premium design across its flagships, with a stable and consistent user experience. You can't blame them for that goal, it's what made Apple who they are now.

Hands down, the note 5 has the best in the hand feel of any large screen phone I have used.

WOW...stopped by BB last night to check out the Note 5. This has got to be the nicest Android phone I have ever held in my hand. It has the build quality of the S6 but with what seems like a better screen. Such a premium phone in the hand. It is a little more narrow than my Note 4 side by side making it easier to hold in my hand. The slight curve of the back really makes it fit in my hand sooo much better. I can't wait to get mine on Friday.
So the N5 has a lot of the same internals as the S6
Best in class

My exact impressions as well.

The phone is set to be the best, on tied at the top in terms of hardware.

For example, the next iPhone or nexus may match the camera (or slightly best it, in terms of the iPhone, but at this point...how much better can you get, and how much of a difference can it make?). Either phone may match or best the phone is battery life, but the supercharged turbo and wireless charging helps negate that.

But neither phone will match the screen or UFS storage. The design as well as remain unrivaled.....the feel in the hand is that good, and the screen to body ratio is incredible.

While, again for example, the iPhone may role out force touch....IMO it won't come close to rivaling the spen. If you want a productivity tool...it's hard to beat.

Also...The phone has Samsung pay, which will be the most widely accepted of the bunch, and it will also support android pay.

Another thing to consider is android M. Do you think maybe Samsung choose to produce a wickedly thing phone in, because they know the battery life will sky rocket with android M? From what I hear, the stand by mode can come close to doubling the battery life, along with other power management tweeks. Just a thought.

People need to realize this a killer large screen phone, with great productivity tools if the user wants to utilize, AIMED AT THE GENERAL PUBLIC. Samsung may have pioneered this screen size, but apple made it mainstream last year. Samsung wants to capitalize on that and grab a larger share of that market. To fault them for that is a bit ridiculous....the so called power user and android die hard "nerds" are a very small portion of the population...and thus can't yield a high profit for Samsung.

So to avoid installing bloatware Samsung is giving Note 5 and S6 Edge Plus buyers $300 worth of software they can download.

http://img.talkandroid.com/uploads/...6_Edge_Plus_Content_Bundle-e1439641468332.png

They said the same about the S6 ;).

None of those apps came pre-installed in the 48-56 apps that came with the 'cleaned and de debloated s6/S6 edge - except One drive which from the list also comes pre-loaded regardless.

Samsung always has Samsung gifts software wise, this isn't any different. It does not mean they are debloating.

Sure you can look at it that way or say it didn't come pre-installed. I guess it depends on how you want to look at it. Did you even follow the link at all? One drive will come pre-installed on the Note 5? Your sure? Anyway all negativity aside this is a good thing and a step in the right direction. It $300 worth of free software to download that does not come pre-installed.

I'll get the S6 Edge Plus after it's been on sale a good 6 weeks or so. That should be enough time to see if the extra 1gb alleviates my sole issue with the current S6 edge. I would literally be upgrading just for the extra 1gb ram so need to make sure ram issue has been fixed before shelling out 350-400 euro extra to be upgrade my current S6 edge

Well I don't have the luxury of choosing between the S6 edge plus or the note 5.

I do like the idea of a 6 inch phone (I love phablets) but I don't like stock android. I may just bite the bullet and go for the S6 edge plus. It would be my secondary device as my daily driver is the iPhone 6 plus.

Pretty sure one drive does. It's a deal Samsung has with Microsoft.

Just crazy decisions from Samsung regarding the Note 5, it's almost like they are trying to make it niche so they can focus on the S6+.

Yet they still release 7 other phones a month.

It also gives you free storage for 2 years. So spin it anyway you want. It's still free software being given to buyers. Except for One drive......that does not come pre-installed so they are trying to eliminate bloatware. Geesh

I'm so jealous. . The S6/edge is a beauty though. So it figures that the note 5 would be.

Yeah....that's a sad reality and there is really no excuse for it. My condolences. :/

If the two had been released it would have certainly been the note I would upgrade my S6 edge to. It would have been a less expensive a side-grade and whilst I'd miss the overall aesthetic the s-pen would have been a worthwhile trade.

How so?
the power user " no removable battery no sd card, no buy" is a fraction of a percent. These users moving away won't hurt Samsung.

It seems to me like they are trying to make the devices more mainstream.

Samsung has really trimmed back their offers, in terms of the sheer number of Phones they release

They need a better naming scheme for the mid range. All the A variants are very confusing.

I was impressed with the A phone I played with but wasn't sure if it was A5 or A7 and even the owner wasn't even sure. They thought it was an S6!!'
