I agree they have been getting better. In the comments one of the moderators was being particularly reasonable.

The cons in the review are a bit wierd (or the 6plus should be knocked as expensive too), something like the ram management issue should be in there.
Maybe....but maybe the normal person doesn't notice?

I mean there is a comparison posted here where the note 5 outdoes the G4 and one plus 2.

I don't think it's representative of real life situations.

The reviews really prove the RAM management issues do not affect the common folk. Have any of the reviews mentioned it?

Oh I'm not sure. Just saying I would argue that is more relevant when comparing to competing phones. Rather than lack of sd and expensive. And the battery replaceability too. That's the entire con list!

Honestly ram management should be a criticism of the 6 plus too though.

Agree...I understand the battery and lack of expandable storage criticisms in the context of comparison to previous versions but in a vacuum they really aren't applicable since so few devices offer these any longer. The cost criticism is only applicable if you also make the same criticism of the iPhone.

Yeah I am trying to not let this RAM management issue hinder my choice if I am going to get the device or not because I rarely use multitasking on my devices anyways so I doubt I will have an issue with it. Plus getting bored with this 6 Plus. I need something new to satisfy my itch.

Quick thoughts so far
Extremely fast and responsive. So light in my hand. They made the Note 5 slightly more narrow.
This makes it so much easier to hold and do some tasks one handed.
Fingerprint scanner has improved from the S6. Its faster and more accurate.
Comparing the Note 5 to the Note 4.......
The N5 seems to be a much smaller phone...even though they have the same screen size.
The back glass is a fingerprint magnet! But it does not feel as slippery as the S6 was to me.
Battery life is still to hard to gauge yet. But it does look very promising!

My friend brought over his Note 4 this morning, no app refreshes on 4.4.

So is it really TW?

AND his Note 4 opened Angry Birds 2 faster than my Nexus 6 so go figure as the latter is tick android. Nothing else was open on either device.

Yeah i'm the guy who is at the gym 4 nights a week, does a stack of classes and whilst at the right weight never seems to get that athletic body all the exercise should equal. I am very flexible from 10 years of yoga - so I'm also the weirdo who who will be most likely upside down standing on his head or with his legs wrapped behind his shoulders :D

Something wrong somewhere. I alternate cardio one day and lifting the next day and neither session is longer than an hour.

I am 10% body fat. Other guys churn away and for the life of them cannot get down to that while doing more. They all think I'm on the juice, nope!

How's your diet? I weigh 160 and my abs while not totally ripped I get compliments.

Yeah I might do a comparison video of my N5 to my N6. I have a very strong feeling it will blow the N6 away in every category. Better display......better camera....faster storage. But then if i lay them both on a flat surface to do the test...the N6 would wobble horribly.

We are heading to a carrier in a little while. You have a Note 4 on KK? We are going to compare his Note 4 to a Note 5 on Lollipop opening apps. I bet the Note 4 holds its own.

I think it is just TW on lollipop. It cannot be lollipop since all other devices running it do not have the problem.

The Note 5 is great in hand, much better than the Note 4.

If I can get the $200 credit gift card trading a smartphone on that means my outlay would be $499 plus tax. If not, I probably will not buy it. I would not know why I would not be able to get the GC though.

Testing afterwards forthcoming towards if I will keep it or not after 14 days.

5'11" - I weigh 164lbs - I eat very healthily (avoid eating processed foods, have plenty of fruit and vegetables "more than my 5 a day", drink plenty of fluids, dont eat a lot of red meat, mostly fish. Avoid refined carbohydrates as I'm gluten free so don't eat that much bread or pasta / cereal.

don't drink alcohol, don't smoke .. Exercise 4 nights a week (mixture cardio - circuits - swimming) and go cycling or climbing at weekends. Do some Yoga everyday.

I have a very slow metabolism, have to watch what I eat regardless if it's healthy food.

But TW on KK is fine so I guess your analysis figures. If I see the Note 4 holding its own versus the Note 5 would have me do some pondering. The Note 5 design and feel is awesome though so more head scratching comes into play.

I think 4.4 handles things alot better than 5.0

Is there a published list anywhere of the smartphones BB will accept for the $200 GC? I have an iPhone 3GS that still powers up. :D

I'm 5'11" @ 185lbs. Used to always be the skinny rail guy @ 165lbs as a big Cross Country runner.

Then few years ago got into the 5/3/1 workout routine, by Jim Wendler, using Whey protein before and after workouts.

My cardio per his plan is walking, yes walking 2 miles, but while carrying 80lbs.

Got me into pretty good shape. And I will be 42 next week.
