Not on both sides and not as fragile as the Samsung Galaxy series.

Umm wrong. It is having a redesign. Antenna bands are gone. Stereo speakers. No headphone jack. Touch sensitive home button and different colors. That is some good redesign changes. Apple doesn't do that every year. Usuaully every FEW years. So saying it will be redesigned for 2017 is not going to happen.

If it's not redesigned in 2017 sales will be horrendous. I've not yet seen so many folks not interested in the next iPhone.

Update your Always On Display in the settings. That way the pin notes will show on screen for an hour, instead of dropping into an icon. Had to find that out through XDA.

Not really related but with the discussion of sp I'm interested in the liquid sp being marketed now. Liquid application means seamless and whole phone coverage. Dries to 9h hardness. Think I'll try some on Amazon. Anyone ever use them?
Saw the video, that looks really interesting. Though I wonder if it fades over time and how hard it is to remove if you want to.

Wow, I see the Note 7 goes for a mere C$20 more than a 16 GB iPhone 6S Plus here in Canada, direct from Samsung (unlocked).
$1050, but no freebies like a 256 Gb card, though.
It's very tempting.

I'm glad you mentioned it. I can be triggered into a rare form of migraine from certain kinds of light. I won't try it until I'm done traveling for the summer. I don't want to get sidelined. I'm so used to keying in my passcode anyway from back when my iPhone 5 rejected my fingerprints.

According to the rumors the speaker that appears to be stereo may be faux. Removing antenna lines and a headphone jack isn't a redesign. It's...oh never mind. I am happy you're happy. I am looking forward to the keynote myself.

You going to tell Apple, hey, your phone isn't a redesign? But it TECHNICALLY is a redesign. Anything that is changed is considered a redesign.

Ireland looks amazing, I'd love to visit one day. For the complete other end of the spectrum plan on never visiting new jersey.

hah, I'm the same exact way. Even though I cancelled my order I am constantly thinking about ordering again. All I need is for Verizon to BOGO it and I'm done. But will probably buy the ip7 plus when it comes out as well.

It's a sickness. Seriously. I guess since I usually have one Android and one iOS, this will be my Android for...however long. I never know anymore. Next Nexus, probably?

Lmao that is not a redesign.

A redesign is changing the whole DESIGN. Nobody will tell a damn difference between the 6s to the 7. Just like they couldn't from the 6 to the 6s

Since when does a different color mean a redesign?

In 2017 there will be a redesign and that I'm pretty positive will be glass back and thin bezels. If it's not? Apple really is doomed

Lol yeah it's a redesign on the INSIDE! Lol but the outside it will look just like the current generation.

Apple team, I need you to redesign the case for the iphone so we can move the antennas to the edge, remove the audio jack, and so on.

I am an engineer and you really are showing how much you aren't that smart.

Again, it WILL NOT look just like the current one. It will have some changes. It will look SIMILAR, but not the same.

For those of you new to Samsung, give the Samsung Browser a try over Chrome. You can download an ad blocker from the Play Store (Crystal or AdBlock for Samsung) which will make browsing much smoother.
I also use the fingerprint sensor to store my passwords.
I still use Chrome for those times I need to grab a tab from another computer or vice versa, but 95% of the time I'll use the Samsung Browser.
Between Crystal and AdBlock, which do you recommend?

Haha

How about you go into the macrumours news forum and ask everybody there if they think the iPhone 7 is a redesign. I'm sure you will get ALOT of laughing emotions while asking you what planet you are on.

There's a reason why everybody is moaning about the same old design. A new redesign doesn't mean making it more powerful while removing a headphone jack.

Would be like me going into my office and hiring somebody to change the whole office design and returning to it being Completely unchanged.

Opps, I linked the wrong one. Here is the right one.

That's nothing unexpected.

But breaking and scratching are two completely different things. And it scratches easily, as seen. The price to pay for the durability.

3/10? Come on! The press gives a pass, because the big guys (The Verge, e.g.) are on Samsung's payola, if it were on the iPhone, this wouldn't fly by.

You are right of course they eliminated the headphone jack..........total redesign from the 6 to the 6s to rhe 7....removed the headphone jack. You're right total redesign.

I think he's arguing the technical definition of the word redesign. In that case the 5S was a redesign because of touchID.

If a knife that's being scraped along the screen on purpose, and shows up clean, then I'm not really worried.

I've been through way more shattered screens than scratched. The fact the it's less likely that a drop will shatter the screen from one end to another on the Note 7, is a plus in my book.

Now it's more than likely that it is easier to scratch compared to previous Gorilla Glass, but that doesn't mean that it translates into real world failure.

Fortunately Merriam Webster disagrees with your definition of redesign:
  1. to revise in appearance, function, or content
Making stuff up is fun but not reality.

This is getting utterly ridiculous. There is no definition of redesign for a phone. Typically there are 2 options, a slight appearance change which is usually accompanied by a spec bump, or an entire redesign where the phone looks completely different. Nobody is referring to the actual definition of redesign when discussing a product with several parts and features. Well, almost nobody...

OK I found a bug. While using the wireless charging stand.....touch responsiveness is terrible. Don't know why. I can barely navigate through. Its really weird. Not a deal breaker as I can just pick it up but just wanted to see if anyone else has experienced this.
