Fortunately Merriam Webster disagrees with your definition of redesign:
  1. to revise in appearance, function, or content
Making stuff up is fun but not reality.
Lol.....i redesign my phone everyday then when I move an icon around. It changes the function and appearance :) I don't think any designers would agree with that though.

Anyone experiencing some delays with the spen and edges? For example, on Tapatalk, when I want to go back (arrow on the top right of app), it takes a firm tap for it to respond.

If a knife that's being scraped along the screen on purpose, and shows up clean, then I'm not really worried.

They are telling people are "scratching it wrong"

I've been through way more shattered screens than scratched. The fact the it's less likely that a drop will shatter the screen from one end to another on the Note 7, is a plus in my book.

You see that because since the original iPhone, any good phone have been using scratch resistant glass, and now they are using glass that's more shatter resistant, but less scratch resistant.

They're identical to me; haven't had any issues or see one being better than the other. If I had to pick, I'd give it to Crystal only cause it was the first one I tried.
Thanks for this tip. Just enabled crystal and it worked like a charm.

Ok I'm part of the gang again. Costco Verizon BOGO + $50 in Costco gift cards + waived activation fees + gear fit or memory card for each phone. Now I have to convert my wife over, she's never used an Android phone in her life. Phone is freakin nice!!!

You going to tell Apple, hey, your phone isn't a redesign? But it TECHNICALLY is a redesign. Anything that is changed is considered a redesign.
I guess we can call the s7/s7 edge a redesign from the s6 and the note 7 a redesign from the s7 edge. Get that radical redesign samsung.

She'll love the design and display no doubt. What colors did you get?

Actually, you can. Doesn't show in the photos or at a distance. But in person the design differences and feel in hands is very noticeable from the S6 edge > S7 edge > S7 edge+/Note 5 > Note 7.

Lmao that is not a redesign.

A redesign is changing the whole DESIGN. Nobody will tell a damn difference between the 6s to the 7. Just like they couldn't from the 6 to the 6s

Since when does a different color mean a redesign?

In 2017 there will be a redesign and that I'm pretty positive will be glass back and thin bezels. If it's not? Apple really is doomed
No the 6S was a redesign because it says iPhone S on the back and the 6 doesn't. You sir are wrong:p

Lol yeah it's a redesign on the INSIDE! Lol but the outside it will look just like the current generation.
Remember the only thing that's changed its everything. ;)

Don't forget to use Samsung Pay for the $20 Visa Debit card promotion. I forgot all about that until I got some gas today. I think I racked up about $80 card promotions since Samsung pay started.

Yes but even the reviewers are not giving samsung the credit for that. They are calling it a refinement of a familiar design. But compared to the proposed iPhone 7 its a complete overhaul lol

I thought the GS6/plus was a redesign over the previous models when they added the curved display. I don't think the S7 edge is a redesign at all. But I do think the N7 is a redesign over the N5...i mean they added a curved display. But the N7 is not a redesign over the S7 edge but they are different models.

Anyway my battery life has been not so good today. I know it is the first day and it should settle. But today I only got 4 hours SOT. My S7 edge was getting close to 6 SOT.

That's not good. I've been getting 5-6 hours with my s7 edge. 4 hours is just average for an android phone. At least I'll have a few weeks before it comes out in the uk to monitor this in the reviews before making the upgrade.

I wonder if it would affect those who suffer or have suffered from neurological problems such as epilepsy (much like strobe lighting may trigger).
I can be a Guinea pig for that when I'm done traveling because the problem I have mimics epilepsy. I won't seize but I'll feel some odd sensations in my head, it doesn't hurt, usually thank goodness.

Thats why I let my train of thought trail off. I couldn't decide if it was or wasn't a redesign myself. I think in the context of IPhones a lot of us on the forum tend to refer to redesigns as the big changes in materials, layout of buttons and so forth. This lesser "S-series" type of changing doesn't seem to get the "redesign" designation too often. But I'm splitting hairs. Or hares. Eh, whatever it's been a long day waiting for my Note and packing for a trip.

It did finally arrive. I've got pics but I'm on my old iPad at the moment that is not connected to iCloud and photo sharing.

Congratulations! Your boxes look different from ours. I guess we have AT&T boxes. I'll post pics tomorrow when I get to my destination and unpack my good iPad. Everything else is on chargers right now including my Note 7.

I could not get AT&T to provision it. Hubby says our accounts look messed up and he will have to go online or make a call tomorrow.

I set up some Google stuff and Samsung Pay over wifi on it. I'm still figuring all of this out. It looks so different from the Nexus tablet I was playing on even though that had Marshmallow on it. I hope your wife does not feel lost like I do. I think I was trying to get too many things set up while rushing and having everyone interrupt me for the usual pre road trip mom stuff.

To make things really hard on myself I applied my Spigen film screen saver while my cat was on the table right next to the phone. She's not supposed to be up on the table but she has to inspect everything that comes into the house that attracts attention. Then right in the middle of me trying to align the blasted thing, my kid yells for me, I answer, she stubs her toe and starts hollering about that...at any rate it is on there after the right combination of swear words. There are some tiny bubbles that may dissipate overnight. I don't care whether they do or don't. This is just temporary until I get time to order the tempered glass one from Samsung. Or any other glass one that gets good ratings and works well with cases. I can use the S-pen just fine on the film. But I think I would prefer to at least try Samsung's screen protector.

The blue Note 7 naked is stunning. With a film screen protector with tiny bubbles and a cheap clear Ringke TPU case it looks like poo. The case has just enough tint and effect to dull the incredible color. Then there are the fingerprints. It's not so bad on my iPhone but the film protector for the Note 7 is more squishy and accumulates fingerprints faster even though both are made by Spigen. I have other cases to try when I get a chance.
