I checked my order on Samsung uk website and it still says not processed. Is this normal at this stage? I know I'm not due to get it till 30th August. Just wondering if this is normal. Or does it change to processed as it gets closer to shipping?

Yep mine is the same. Not worried right now - IIRC when I ordered the S7 edge earlier in the year it was the same. Only started to change a few days before dispatch.

Just typing this from a Note 7... ;)

Sadly its the work one... but its easing my waiting pain! I do like the blue a lot . Very very nice!

We have all the cases in too today. The look good. :)

I've always used the Samsung browser. I only like chrome on nexus devices for some reason.

I need to work out what smart watch to get to go with my note 7. Moto 360 second gen vs gear s2/S3.

I don't think it will update until its getting ready to ship. The same thing happened with my Apple watch Pre-order. Things only changed the day before it shipped.

Is the gold available anywhere yet?
Probably just Asia.

I noticed they took the money straight away and now it's been put back in. Guessing it was just a hold to see if the funds are there

Yeah just seen money return to my account so luckily it was just a hold to see if I can afford it. So not worried now

Yup, went for all black. Thought about the coral blue, but I think the blue would be distracting from the screen, I prefer having black borders. And the silver is just way too reflective, it looks like a mirror.

Really always bemused that people say they get distracted by colours from the screen. Don't like black because it's dull and shows up fingerprints so easily.

Talk about a carrier getting it wrong. Look at the specs Three.ie list for it ...

Specifications

Display
5.7 inch, 1080p

Processor
Mongoose + quad-core 1.6 GHz Cortex-A53

So it will have a 1080p screen ? Disappointing, but at least it comes with a mongoose ;)
I've got to get that mongoose

Yes I remember the same thing happening with the apple watch. The money was taken and then returned and then re-taken when it went to preparing to ship.

I haven't seen them in person yet. I'm hoping to see them today and then place my pre- order when I get home. However I think it will have to be black. As boring and dull as it is I don't think I can have a blue phone. Why didn't they bring gold to the UK. I can't even see the silver anywhere. It was supposed to be available at carphone warehouse but they only seem to have black and blue. Why isn't there a pink gold :(. My pink gold S7 edge is lush. :D

Installed it and it seems to help a little nut Mayne just a placebo effect. Appreciate the recommendation tho. Also tried the Samsung browser. Much better than chrome in terms of choppiness but still just so laggy compared to safari. I use my browser all the time. Ugh

I mostly use Firefox on my Note 5 as I find it better than Chrome especially with an ad blocker.

So I picked up mine yesterday afternoon. Some good stuff but some bad stuff too.

Good:
  • Phone is gorgeous per every review. Sammy's design is amazing here. A 5.7" phone that's probably the most comfortable phone to hold ever produced. (Aesthetic note: Black is beautiful out of the box, but then it is a fingerprint magnet. If that kind of thing drives you nuts, buyer beware.)
  • TouchWiz: this version isn't just an improvement, it isn't just cleaner, it is GREAT. Period. If you straight up prefer vanilla Android or a different skin, that's fine. But anyone still claiming TW is ugly is just making sh*t up at this point.
  • Iris scanner: I called it a gimmick. I was WRONG. It works, works great, and is only going to get better.
  • The most useful iteration of the stylus yet. It really does feel like a pen writing on paper. Gif creation is beyond cool and brilliantly implemented.
  • Yup - they completely fixed the false touch issue with the GS7E. Palm rejection is spot on. And this is *not* an Edge phone. Yes, the screen runs down the sides but it's not as pronounced, not even close. So if you're hesitating because you don't want an "edge phone", stop hesitating. This is a Note.
  • Secure folder: I see virtually zero circumstances in which I will need this feature except maybe for work here and there BUT it is awesome and brilliantly implemented.
Bad:
  • While this may be the most useful version of the stylus software, it's also the cheapest. This thing feels so flimsy and breakable. C'mon, Sammy. So close to perfection on build, why go cheap on the stylus?
  • I set my device up as new and it's not running fantastic. I'm getting good amounts of stutter and lag. Most disconcerting is that it seems the phone fails to register touches a good amount. I'm clicking things multiple times.
  • Fingerprint scanner has straight up sucked. I've wiped and reregistered my prints a couple of times. Phone fails a good amount when I try to activate through this route.
As you may have guessed, I'm starting to think the unit I got specifically is a lemon. I'm going to give it today and if nothing changes, I'm off to VZW to exchange.

Having said that, I disagree with anyone who says this is just an S7E with a stylus or there isn't much reason to upgrade from a Note 5. Use it for a few minutes and it becomes really apparent that this is going to be a much better experience than those two phones, and that's coming from someone who greatly enjoyed both those devices.

So this is the screen protector I'm going with. https://www.amazon.com/Galaxy-Note-...1471693274&sr=8-1&keywords=note+7+glass+amovo I used the same one on my Note 5 and was very impressed. No halos, fits well, and best of all it blacks out the Samsung logo!!!! It does change the feel of the Spen slightly though.

I agree about the spen, they should consider making it out of aluminum.

I would expect silver and gold may come in the end just not for a while.

Great news about Touchwiz. You going to just use that without a launcher then? Think I'm tempted by this.

No false touches? Great news

I'm the wrong guy to ask about launchers, I don't use 'em regardless of skin. ;)
[doublepost=1471695859][/doublepost]Oh - side note for VZW users: they finally got rid of the persistent wifi connection notice on the notification shade!!!

Any silver owners? Is it nice in person? My husband is using black.. So I cant get same color... Haha
I saw it at Best Buy. It is shiny like the S7 Edge. It's really beautiful and it's what I would have chosen next after blue. I think it might show scratches and smudges slightly less.

So do you think you will use the iris scanner more now? I get most will see use their fingerprint more often but say for example if your phone is on the wireless charging stand I bet it may be easier to use the iris scanner if you wanted to check a notification for example

I will ABSOLUTELY be using the iris scanner more. I already do. Great addition by Sammy. Using it when the phone is on the charger, wet hands, etc. It's been tremendous.

Is there a lot of VZW bloat? I read the Verizon models had more bloat than the rest.

Standard stuff. Verizon cloud, navigator, messages, caller id, etc etc. Seems theyve blocked a few things including Samsung cloud, ram amd device management and some bookmarks in the Samsung browser you cant delete. I'll be checkijg out yhr att one later today cuz tired of Verizon crap

An IR blaster and an IR scanner are not one in the same. They may use the same part of the light spectrum, but that is where the similarities end.
Maybe iFixit got it wrong. They said it was a IR Blaster.

Here in Singapore there's a problem on the new update that just came up.. Boot loop issue and brick note 7 after update...

Any issues with other countries?

It uses one for the Iris Scanner.
Oh. Is it strong enough to use as a remote though? I will have to look that up. I'm in my car right now on a road trip and all I have access to is my iPhone SE. It would be cool if it could. I have a Samsung tv.
