Samsung just unveiled a 10nm 6GB RAM chip that may arrive on the Note 6

http://www.androidauthority.com/samsung-10nm-6gb-ram-note-6-694073/

Now that sounds like hardware that can support the software of a "professional" phone.
With the way rumors are shaping up I might just skip the iPhone 7 and only get the next gen Moto 360 and Note 6 this fall and keep my 6S Plus and current Apple Watch until next year. I'm loving how well my S7 Edge can handle the Saturn emulator, and the Note 6 will run it even better.

Oh nice. For sure.

I could see Nights running beautifully on the Note 6. :)

As awesome as Nights is, Panzer Dragoon has always been my favorite. Really hoping the rumor of 64gb plus sd card is true, each game is like 600mbs.

Nice setup!

I myself prefer old school SNES RPGs. Those emus run great on the s7e, too. ;) Alway fun firing up some good old classics on the smartphone.

Maybe they think people are not smart enough and people will think my S7 edge is better because it's a 7 not a 6..haha

I came here just to post about the Note "7" thing.

Funny and interesting move by Samsung, but I guess from a marketing perspective, it might make sense. Still, kind of comical. :p

And it sounds like there might be an Edge variant of the Note as well this year? Not sure if I feel that is necessary for the Note line...

Funny how much public perception is such a driving force for companies! :) I don't think we need a an edge model for the Note 7.
[doublepost=1464191144][/doublepost]Can't wait for the Note series that will have this!

I think this phone will be a beast superphone. BUT...if it's locked down, no root it's all for naught. A Samsung Touchwiz phone with no Root and locked bootloader is like having a brand new Corvette and only allowed to drive it to 30mph max.

These absolutely need root, just to debloat all the garbage apps they ship with, and install AdAway, and run custom kernels that tweak performance to be smoother while also increasing battery life by a good 25%.

Bendable I get.... not sure I understand the benefit of a rolled phone in your pocket though.
Not sure it will be rolled. It could be just into your device. So you will never see it rolled up it would just be pulled out of the phone.

but it's also because it'll be launched a month or so apart from the iPhone 7 / 7+ / 7 Pro ? and both will be marketed big time against each other .....

I think you are spot on with that

Probably to stop corporate users worrying about any potential compromise to security by users. I sometimes think people forget that the Note is not just targeted at tech hobbyists (who are a tiny sector of the market anyway) & joe public but the corporate market as well.

Anyway I don't recognise these claims of bloat & interference with performance from my experience of using the Note 5.

From an ergonomics perspective it makes absolutely NO SENSE to have a Note device (a device whose very name stems from its stylus input) to have edges.

The previous Note Edge had to deal with the edge by treating it as a completely separate screen, independent from the main screen. Thus reducing surface area for which pen input worked.

A dual Edge device with a stylus from a practicality point of view makes very little sense. Speaking as someone who uses a stylus for input every day of the week. Drawing or writing on an rounded edge is the very definition of impracticality.

To me this rumour and 'logic' seem poles apart. If they do release an Edged version of the device regardless, it will be flawed from the outset. There is a reason why humans have used flat surfaces to write and draw on for millennia.

You know what else doesn't make sense? Calling it the Note 7. Samsung are somewhat on a roll with the whole nonsense thing.
