I find turning them off makes it a little jarring. I set it to .05. You can try them both out and see what works best for you.

To consumers it is. To someone who builds/designs the phones, it's a redesign. It requires the engineers to bring the phone up and figure out to move the antennas, and making the phone waterproof. So removing the headphone jack. Again, it is still considered a "REDESIGN". facts are facts.

A good solid OS shouldn't need to do that. My Nexus 6P has them on 1.5 seconds, which is a lot longer than normal, but I love the smooth transition and animation that gives, and it is indeed hot butter smooth at that long of a setting, no lag whatsoever. But set it to that on my Wife's Note 5, and holy cow it's laggy and chugged slow.I was going to give the Samsung Cloud a try, but I'm having an error every time I do a manual Backup.
The problem seems to be with backing up the apps, which takes the longest. It's like their server times out when the percentage under Apps is around 70% upload, or it can be one app that it can't upload properly. The storage is unlimited for backups, so space can't be an issue.
All the other backup selections backed up just fine, but the Apps selections is a problem.
I even deleted my backups, and tried again. Same issue.
Says Network Error as cause of failure.
Fails when the APPS category is around 70% upload.
When on Wifi or LTE, (charging and unplugged)
The Backup data should be in the Gigabytes. It's not uploading it properly.
I deleted this several times, still the same issue trying to backup.

Same. Also turning off animations is akin to putting a plaster on a stab wound. You are masking framerate drops, but not actually solving the root cause. It also doesn't resolve any physical lag in applications / keyboard. It's a flawed 'fix'.

I am having second thoughts regarding the blue coral, I'm thinking black onyx might be a safer bet. Depends whether i can switch colour order and keep my Gear VR2 eligibility, if I lose it by swapping I'll keep the blue.
If you don't open the package, would you be able to go to the store after you get your gear and swap the phone for the black? Not sure how the return process works over there, here we have 14 days to return or swap, we just have to pay a restocking fee if it's been opened (depending on the retailer, some don't charge a restocking fee).
Worse case if you don't like the blue, I'm sure you'll be able to find someone to swap it with, I think the blue will probably the second most popular color choice behind black, it does look really nice in the videos I've seen.
I imagine they'll be able to change my order to black, just requires the sales team to do so - they are only on Monday to Friday so I'll call them after the weekend
Hey guys just got my note 7. Switched over from an iphone 6s plus after having iPhone for the last 9 years
One thing that is really bugging me though .... theres like a pink hue that is on the top of the screen. Also it looks like it's a long the right edge as well.
Anyone else see this ? I have definitely seen this type of stuff on other android phones with the Q HD display. Is it even worth trying to find one without this issue ?

Very faintly and I didn't notice it until you asked. It's really faint and has to be seen on a white background. I've got slight tints on iPhone edges so I'm not sure this would bother me. But everyone is different as to what would bother them.
When I looked at the s6 edge I noticed a very aqua tint on the edge that newer devices don't have. That bothered me a lot back when I saw it.
Yeah its just faint at the top but noticeable on white for sure. And a lot of what i use is a white background and so is the drop down quick menu
Honestly probably wont bother me after a month but I always notice this stuff on my new devices.
Edit: Yeah I definitely notice pink along the top edge and the right edge specifically. Sort of bothering me tbh

Well I can't be mad at 6 hours of screen on time!! And this is CONSTANT usage. A normal day should be plenty fine. Very impressed.
I hear you. On iPads any kind of gradient triggers my migraines when I do a lot of reading on a white background. I need a very evenly white background. But tint on the very edges is okay. I see it on the right side. It's there but very hard to detect on the top.
Oh man, now even if this Note turns out to be a complete bloated lag wagon in a few months, I think I will have to stay with Samsung and kiss the big iPhones goodbye. Unless Timmy has his crew pull a miracle with the selfie cameras.
I just took two selfies here in the car. No makeup. Not much sleep.
I look like hell boiled and bubbling over on the 6S Plus selfie. On the Note 7 I merely look like heck. As far as I can tell I don't have the special beautification processing turned on. Is it on by default? Everything just looks better from the lighting to the view around my head. All colors look better and more realistic to what I see around me in the car. And no I'm not posting those pics! I don't want to get suspended for scaring everyone.
